Bottling for me this morning, need to add the brandy to the mincemeat, really begrudge that, brandy is for drinking. GD 1 came in for our usual Friday G&T yesterday evening, followed by her sister (home for the Christening tomorrow) followed by DD and SIL and a friend of GD2, it was lovely, not very often they all come into my house, I think they were following the smell of Christmas. They brought wine and nibbles so very welcome. GS 2 home today for the event tomorrow as well. My son and DIL are away so am going to take GS4 out to lunch, he is 16 and needs feeding. his brother is back for the weekend from Birmingham, to see his girlfriend, so might be feeding him as well.

I thought we were promised very high temperatures today and tomorrow, no sign of it yet.

Good luck with this oven Oma and the decorating

Morning busy ladies and those maybe not so busy

Its our nephews birthday today think he's 48 , so going with a card he only lives a couple of roads away.

Come back and vac round, bit of dusting can't allow dust to settle, wash 3 floors pottering as you can see.

Went to local outlet yesterday I'm not going again apart from lunch I bought 2 pr of thick tights from M&S a calendar for a Xmas present, and there was nothing I liked to fit me clothes wise just a load of rubbish, still it got us out of the house .

Plant you know I have been looking for a new house 4 million seems a bit steep wonder if she will accept an offer, can you pop round and ask her ?

Aggie if your looking in I do hope you are ok 👌

Enjoy your w/e everybody even the decorators on here you know who you are lol

Well the decorating not getting done today , B took the old radiator off and a huge chunk of plasterboard came with it so that's had to be repaired and skimmed , got to wait till it dries now ,
This quick job has turned into a nightmare but at least we know it will be done properly and not a bodge job like the builders have done ,
Everything looks all lovely when they first built its when you come to replace stuff you find all the faults .
Oven going in now and I ironed the bedding ready to change tomorrow ,
Had to put my Mac and B's jacket in the wash I heard him using the electric sander went in and our coats were still hanging on the coat rack in there covered in plaster dust

Well you will never guess , he's taken oven out of package and the door is all twisted and damaged This has been a farce of a day , I think it will be a refund and we will go somewhere else

Still enjoying our Scottish break! Forgotten how much colder it is up here!

My plasterer must use a different plaster to everyone else's! No smell at all! Painting finished and rads back on. Now for carpet cleaning and new curtains and blinds when we get back.

Hope Aggie is feeling more mobile.

Mary Be house is rather nice! Lovely area too!

                  Enjoy the weekend everyone.

Oma, i can't believe the trouble your oven is causing. You must both be at your wits end.

My plasterer is still here and I haven’t noticed any smell I must admit. He has found a couple of faults with the ceiling but it is safe. This place was botched for so many years that every time we do something we find something new that is wrong (or should that be old that is wrong?)

Oma I think you are attention seeking now lady!!! You have put a hex on the oven, get those big knickers on and get it sorted woman!

So much for this lovely sunny weekend we were supposed to be having, grey and overcast here but not really cold mind you the Nest heating has lost its mind and keeps turning itself in and off after the hour long power cut we had last night plus the ovens need resetting, I did it before but I cannot remember how I did it. I don’t know where the file is with all the instructions as stuff is everywhere at the moment.

Well we have been to Currys and bought a new one and its being delivered tomorrow ,
B tried ringing and the other company not open till Monday ,

Checked our rights again with Nat west legal team they cant refuse a refund, we have taken pics of the damage on this one but even if they did decide to be awkward we are covered on our Visa with distant selling as we bought online with My appliance ,

                        Really fed up with it
                        1) just stopped working after few weeks
                        2) all the computer control went haywire
                        3) blew the main trip switch every time we put it on and the element went after 5 weeks
                        4) has turned up damaged

I'm sick of rubbish food and eating out this week and with the downstairs loo taking so long to finish I just want my house back to normal ,
I have managed one coat of emulsion on the walls but where its been plastered behind old radiator it will take several more before that looks right ,
Gloss tomorrow but that's a quick job
If I don't get a working oven soon I'm digging a fire pit in the garden and we will spit roast the next delivery driver

I do know how you feel Oma after our kitchen failure last year. Good luck with the, hopefully final, new one

Our plasterer has gone and we have decided not to move most of the furniture back in. I sort of persuaded him. My thinking is that he takes so long to get things done that not having things around might galvanise him into the decorating which we were going to get someone in to do but he has changed his mind and I do not want to be sitting here for ages waiting for him to get his bottom into gear.

Our black chandelier standard lamp is going to the neighbour downstairs who has always had her eye on it and the table and chairs (the sort that folds in on itself with the chairs underneath and sideboard will go to my young friend at work. I was going to get rid of the ghost table (Oma will know what I mean) but husband doesn’t want to. Next chairs are due in 5 weeks and the striped bucket chairs when we get back from holiday. We have decided to hve a fitted blind probably in gal to match the chairs and cream or lemon curtains. We actually never close the curtains as we are not overlooked at all. The curtains we did have in the sitting room which cost a fortune and have matching cushion covers are going to be dry cleaned and put in the kids room as that is being refurbed as well with a chair bed getting rid of the bunks (we already have two fold up beds) and a small desk, for me to work in there, storage for work, TV, chest of drawers etc. Got loads of stuff to take to the charity shop......

No wonder you are totally fed up about the whole debacle Oma

I forgot you were on holiday WG! I hope you're having a lovely time.

It was a lovely warm day. OH cut and edged both mums lawns and did few more things in the garden. I just chatted to mum and watered her tubs.
We collected GS1's birthday present and GS2's Christmas present from ELC, and did a small Tesco shop on the way home.
OH is banned from any physical work tomorrow! She played golf, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Painted a garage door yesterday, this morning cut and edged our lawns, and worked in my mums garden this afternoon

What a headache for you Oma, how can any company send out faulty goods.

My new new curtains are being fitted this coming Tues.

I picked up my GS4 today and we joined the rest of the family for lunch at our favourite hostelry. The GC are all back for the Chistening tomorrow. After lunch, I eturned GS home and GD1, SIL's mother and I went to JL, I took her back home and GD and I returned home in time for bubbly. Quite excited about tomorrow, it will be lovely to have all the family together for the Christening and lunch afterwards. I believe there will be 19 of us.
