Up at 6.45,watched the news. That Naga Munchett on BBC is so rude and getting worse. I might even complain about her.

This morning husband measured up the wall for the mirror, fire and shelf. We went to take the charity shop stuff which is stuffed on my car boot but there were no car parking spaces so decided to by pass that job until tomorrow and go straight to Home Base. Our “local”Home Base” is seven miles away and we got there to find it is closing down. It is a very big site and no doubt this time next year will see rabbit hutch flats on there! So at HB we got: light shade and two lamps for sitting room. The ones we wanted originally wer humungously expensive from John Lewis and after a discussion we decided they were too fancy for what we are trying to do. We also bought some stones for the fire, it already has some but really needs more except I said I would like blue he got red, typical colour blind twit. I also bought a little four drawer thingie which I am going to transfer my make up and goodies from the dressing table into. We are still having custom made wardrobe but have decided to keep our current heavy pine double dresser and bedside tables and stain or paint them, it is a big bedroom so there is room.

On the the way home we popped into the garden centre, it was only an hour ago and I know there was a good reason for going there but I am darned if I can remember what it was now! Anyway we didn’t get anything, well we did, I got a bit depressed thinking of the children being in Florida at Christmas. I don’t even want to think about putting the tree up,

Neighbour came and took possession of the chandelier standard lamp last night, by the time she had gone it was past eating time so had cheese on toast. Chicken casserole now in pour and store bag in freezer. Going out shortly to youngest sons to take his birthday gift for Ben to hide then home to slob out. At the moment husband is being all husbandly and kneeling in the corner of the sitting room with a screwdriver in his hand I have heard the odd swear word, I do not have a clue what he is doing and I am not going to ask, much safer that way!

      Busy, busy Zizi,

I now have 2 crumbles and 1 apple pie, plus a bowl of stewed apple cooling, not sure where they are going but if no takers they will go in the freezer. I know GS1 will take something if he pops in with baby E over the weekend.

I’ve just finished making a blackberry and apple crumble to take to DS2 tomorrow when we go for lunch. Yesterday met up with 6 old school friends at a hotel for champagne afternoon tea, we had a good old natter it was great fun. Had choir practice this morning (I sing in a Community choir). I notice the wind is starting to get stronger and my washing line prop blew over tumbling the washing to scrape along the floor, fortunately it didn’t get dirty. I’ve bought it in now to finish drying on the airier.

Went B&Q and Homebase. Apparantly, hubby thinks we need a new downstairs loo.

Anyway managed to get a present in Dunhelm.
Bought these for grandaughter and her partner. Always get them a shared present, then something for each of them.

Lots of you ladies talk about Dunelm but our nearest one is about eleven miles Away on a dual carriageway and relatively easy to get to but a pig to get home as you have to get back on the carriageway which is always busy then come off at a mammoth roundabout and go down the other side of the carriageway. Not easy and very annoying.

Nanto - they're lovely and I bed your GD and her partner will be delighted. I bet they're looking forward to their first Christmas in their new home.

Zizi - our nearest Dunelm Mill is about the same - Southampton is about 12 miles, It's ok to get to as long as you know where you're going. If you don't you can end up going round in circles! Have you remembered what you wanted from the garden centre yet?

Avo - somebody must have been watching out for your washing! I bet you were glad you didn't have to put it back in the machine. How lovely to have so many friends from schooldays - I bet there were lots of 'Do you remembers....'

All this talk of apple pies and apple and blackberry crumbles is making me hungry. Pass the custard, please?

I've done lots of dusting today! I know it's an awful shock, but sometimes it just has to be done. We're going up to DS1's tomorrow and going out for lunch as a belated birthday celebration for OH. I hope the weather's a bit calmer - it's been quite wild here and poor Eva is not happy!

Not a very good morning weatherwise, still very windy, but apparantly it is going to calm down sometime today.
Don't think we will be venturing out today.

Good morning, it's a dark wet morning here,
I like the cheery blue flowers and bees Nan2

Our nearest Dunelm is 2 miles away, and on the way to my mums, so we often go.
All the pie and crumble talk was making me hungry too!

Last night we ordered a takeaway from the new Indian restaurant in our village. Orders over £15 included free delivery, and as it was a nasty wet night we opted for that. I ordered online, email response came, confirming delivery details, time and address. Half an hour after the due time we phoned the shop. Not explanation or apology, just told '5 minutes'. Eventully, 50 minutes late, it arrived. The food was in fact good, but tepid, so we didn't enjoy it as much as we would have done. We were really hungry and ate it too fast as well!!

Nothing much planned today. I need to make some bread, and pop over to mums this afternoon.

                    EVERYONE!

                      Good morning.Nanto and everyone.
What pretty flowers to start the day
It's a lot calmer here today after yesterday's gale.We ventured out to get a paper but hibernated for the rest of the day.I made some fruit cakes to take to DD's next week. As it was such a miserable day I fancied a pudding for dessert as we usually have fruit or yoghurt so I made a pineapple upside down sponge. I must admit it was rather yummy and some left over for today
At the moment it is a lovely fresh morning and the sun is shining. As soon as OH is ready I think we'll go for a walk before the weather changes it's mind.
I hope anyone feeling a bit poorly soon feels better.
                      Have a lovely day everyone

                        Good Sunday morning, everyone.

Nanto - Ilove the graphic too - it brought a smile to my face.

There's a big yellow light thingy in the sky at the moment, and the wind has died down - I rather like it so I hope it hangs around for the rest of the day. We're going up to DS1's later this morning and then going out for lunch. It's a late celebration for OH's birthday, so I've promised I'll drive home, so it's OJ only for me today.

Clover that pudding sounds yummy - perhaps we could drop by on our way to DS1's!

                        Have a good day, ladies.

Love upside down cake Clover. GS2 came home unexpectedly so the apple pie has a big slice out of it and GS1 is having one of the crumbles. A French friend of mine took one of the small Christmas puddings so I feel I haven't wasted my time. The downside is that I have started a cold

Having a major tidying up today. No cooking as DH has to fast before his visit to hospital tomorrow, so I’m snacking today. 24hours with no food! Will be glad when it’s done.

Hope you all have a good Sunday, mild here after all the blustery winds yesterday. Hope you all kept safe 🙂

                              Poor OH, Enfys!
Stay warm and nurse that cold, Plant.
                              Stay warm and dry everyone

We are going to one of OHs golf friends house before we go to mums. OH is hoping to help her with her internet connection.
We plan to ask the friend to tea tonight, as she's a widow, and often on her own. If she says yes we will do a roast. If not OH and I will have something simpler

Afternoon ladies , had a busy morning , slept a full 6 hours last night and woke feeling fresh for a change ,
Cleaned all the windows inside and all my mirrors , washed the floors and two loads of washing done and dried ,

We then went to Iceland and Sainsbury's ,We both fancy a roast dinner tonight , rather than get meat out and defrost I just bought a fresh chicken.

Came home hung a picture in our bedroom and painted over where the previous picture hanger had been .

Still have bathroom to sort , Brian in his wisdom decided to take all the silicone out around the sink and the pedestal in there to renew it ,
                                Now it stinks of vinegar and I have to wait till it dries to wash floor and tidy around Also have the new boxing in at the back of the sink to paint ;

Ordered a new toilet roll holder for my downstairs loo got a email this morning wont be hear till 13 November , bought it off Amazon didn't notice its coming from China

Clover I love Pineapple upside down cake I think we will have to bake one now ,and all these lovely crumbles and pies , yummy yummy .

Gem I'm sure she will appreciate the invite

Enfys poor husband that's a long time to go without poor man .

Plant hope the cold is just a sniffle and it doesn't develop into full blown cold xxxx
