Afternoon all. It’s still very hot here with the promise of it getting hotter tomorrow!

Oma, what a waste of a day, sitting around a hospital for no reason at all isn’t anyone’s idea of a day well spent. Hope Monday’s appointment goes better.

How is your head now Daisy , enjoy your evening class.

Plant take it easy today , having no sleep is bad enough but added to this heat makes everything harder to deal with, floors and bathroom can wait until another day.

Ive had a busy day today, we are having a. new kitchen fitted in a month or so time and the planner can around to measure up and myself and OH (well me mostly, obviously) picked out colours for the units, floor tiles, wall tiles and walls. At the moment there is a lot of wasted space in the kitchen, walls with no cupboards on and gaps under units that are not big enough to make use of . Goodness knows what the people who lived here before were thinking when they put it in. The wall cupboards are far too high , myself and OH have to get the step stool out every time we need something from them .
With the new design I get more cupboards space. The fridge will be moved along side the freezer which will make room for a tumble dryer ( going to have a condenseder one ) to sit beside the washing machine.
After she had gone I did some ironing and then the postman arrived with my Christmas seed potatoes so I have planted them into big pots.

Hope evryone is well . Have a good afternoon ladies

Oma what a bloomin’ nuisance your hospital trip was such a waste of time.

Mimi how exciting to be choosing the decor of your new kitchen. What colours did you go for?

Daisy how nice you can go to dog training tonight. I assume there will be different dogs for Eva to meet? No excuse not to do any homework though. I hate missing the final session of a course.

Gem so pleased your Auntie enjoyed her outing. It’s a shame your Mum wouldn’t contemplate something like that, ( I’m assuming she wouldn’t.)

Well I did some h.......k so feel better for getting on with it. Also tackled the i.....g so that’s me done for the day. Our meal is prepped so a little relax is in order.

Oma, that is so frustrating. I know people make mistakes, but if someone goes off sick you think checks would be made to see if anything needs doing. Such a wasted journey for you both on a hot day.

Gem - what a lovely place to go with your aunt. I bet she loved it.

Nanto - you have been a busy bee! I hope tomorrow will be a bit more relaxing.

Mimi - it's due to get hotter here tomorrow as well, but there's a possibility we may get a share of the thunderstorms forecast for Friday. Or we may not! The garden could certainly do with it. We look forward to hearing about the progress of your new kitchen - how exciting. Do you fancy starting a separate thread for it so we can keep up to date on progress? What colours have you chosen?

Clover - yes, Eva will meet different dogs, although there may be some she was in beginners' class with. It will be a good test of her ability - or lack of - to adapt! You're definitely earned some relaxation after all that work! x
I'm just having a quick break from the garden, then off out again for another half hour or so.

Daisy if I remember I will take some photos of the kitchen as it is , when everything has been gutted and then when it’s all done and dusted .

Ive chosen cream for the walls , the wall tiles are tusknay white (white mottled with cream bits in to you and me ) walnut cupboard doors and drawers with handles that have little indentations in them .Worktop is a sort of white , cream and gold mix and the floor tiles are a sand and brown mix.
I’m more excited about the tumble dryer, been looking on line at some now. (Bit sad I know ). I used to have a condenser dryer years ago and surprisingly they haven’t increased in price as much as I thought they would have done.

Sounds a lovely choice of colours for your new kitchen Mimi.

Oma, so sorry you had a wasted journey for B's top up.

Gave the car another outing, had some garden centre vouchers, bought 2 red pink plants, a pair of gardening gloves and stopped for a cuppa, then popped into M&S food hall for some bits of salad, lovely and cool in there, had a peep into a couple of charity shops, boiling in there and finally bought a spotted navy and white top in a ladies clothes shop (sale) very cool in there. Not interested in eating atm.

                Evening All...
It’s hot here in Grauntie land. So hot I decided to wash all the winter coats etc. Good move, all done and put away. Now on with whatever I can do towards Sunday lunch for friends. Apple sauce made, and that’s as far as I’ve got. Liquorice ice cream next. I made this many years ago from an Australian Women’s weekly mag. Every time the gang come they want this. They are in luck as I have found the very same recipe on line having ditched the book years ago.
The blackfly have had a party on my beans, no ladybirds to be seen 🙄, I’m hosing the blackfly off.
Lots of sadness going on here involving friends and rellies so my visits are spasmodic just now.
                Sleep well all.

Good morning everyone! Golly, am I the first one up this morning! Thanks to Eva who suddenly decided I needed a wake up cuddle. She was wrong - I could have slept for another 2 hours.

Still, the sun is shining again, and I have the whole day to do everything or nothing.

Grauntie, I've never heard of liquorice ice cream. Does it come out a sort of sludgy grey colour? I don't know what's happened to the ladybirds this year, perhaps it's too hot for them. I'm so sorry to hear about so much sadness for your family and friends. Sending hugs - and we're always here if you want us.

Plant, I'm glad you're getting out and about with your new car. I'm sure it will soon feel like an old friend.

Mimi - your kitchen colour scheme sounds lovely - light and airy. Yes, it would be great to see photos before, after and in between.

Grauntie has reminded me that I haven't washed winter coats, fleeces etc. I'd better get on with it, I suppose! Thanks Grauntie!!!!

EDIT - no, I wasn't first up - Nanto beat me to it while I was typing. Good morning Nanto.

Good morning Nan2, Daisy and all who follow!

A nice free day for you Daisy, don't do too much!

Another sunny one here, but the night didn't feel so hot, thank goodness!
Tesco delivery this morning (the weekly will ones will disappear soon as my 6 month plan comes to an end) I am going to a friends for lunch, then on to my mums with her shopping for the regular Thursday afternoon routine.

                        Happy Thursday

Morning ladies ,we were in Sainsburys by 8.15
We are going to two Birthday parties a 30th Tomorrow night and a 50th on Saturday , both ladies and we had no idea what to get them ,
So Large Jar Yankee Candles and Prosecco have been bought for both of them . Job done

GM so sad when you have times like that with family and friends I do hope your sadness passes quickly and all is well again ,
Daisy how did last night go with Eva ?
Nanto same old night for me , nice to see you had a god night ,
Gem enjoy lunch out and hope your Mum is well , how did S do at Golf ?

Spoke to Libra they still sorting the move and no change as such she's fighting on .

In our little cul-de-sac we also have a little off shot with 4 houses in , one is owned by a Vicar who lives in the Lakes and he rents it out ,
Well a couple of weeks ago a man moved in with his big Harley Davison Motor bike , a man in his early 60's I would say . a typical Hells Angel look about him long hair long ragged beard but a very nice man to speak to he says hello whenever we have seen him ,
These past few days however when he had been going out to work at 6am on a morning he has opened the throttle on his bike and roared up the road behind our house like a demon , the noise is ear splitting ,
Talking to a neighbour today in the shops and he said he's put a note through his door asking him to be more considerate first thing , they had their little 2 yr old GD staying and he said he woke her up with such a fright this morning .
It must be the heat, as soon as the sun shines people get their bikes out drive with windows down on the cars blasting music and speed everywhere

Grauntie so sorry to hear you are feeling sad, I am sure the gang will take your mind off your sadness.

Pleased to hear Libra's move is progressing, she is a fighter. Give her my love Oma.

Winter coats going in the wash.

Not sure what I will do today, didn't get off to sleep until after 3am DD has gone out and has left the kitten out so I will not go out until she is back, it is a shame to lock him indoors.

Hello everyone. You put me to shame to see how active you all are. Sorry it didn't work out at the hospital for B Oma. Better luck next time. I hope Mr Daisy's eye's better today. Sorry to hear life's challenging for you Graunty. My thoughts go out to you.

OH golfing today. He'll fry.🤣 I on the otherhand will take an easy day. Went to DD1's yesterday & had a nice catch up. Her boys seem to be coping well with the heat. Better than I did.
