Car just arrived all the way from Stoke on Trent, didn't expect this early, wasn't dressed. A few small changes, I will have to go and play in it to get used to the controls before I take it out.

Enfys, hope this next chemo doesn't upset your OH too much.

Sunny again, supposed to be a scorcher today. Must have been nice and cool in the garden Oma. Try and keep cool ladies.

Must get dressed and go and play with my car but not before I have changed the bedding on my bed.

You will get used to the changes if you take your time.

Good luck to the hospital OHs. Strangely enough I slept from 2am to 11am. Had fallen asleep at 5am the day before for a couple of hours so I was tired. Oma it was a different email I sent Qwerty, but it didn't work.

(By the way, not seen GJ on here for a while).

We're back home after our hospital trip! Last time we were in and out before our appointment time. This time it was sloooowwww! The clinic was running late and we had to go over to a mobile unit in the hospital grounds. OH's treatment seemed to be a lot shorter than most people's, so he must have been a good boy. We didn't get home until lunch time, and his eye is still quite painful. He's had paracetamol, but it doesn't seem to have helped much. I rang DS2 to say I'd be over as soon as I'd made OH some lunch, but DS said stay home and look after the patient. I have to admit I didn't argue - it was quite a tiring and stressful morning, with a very busy drive back from Southampton. It was nice not having to rush out again.

Nana - OH's next appointment is in about a month's time. In September he will see the consultant for a check up and then they will decide whether to give another injection then. But a doctor friend tells me that there has been a lot of research into new treatments for AMD and hopefully it will lead to newer and better procedures for it in the next few years.

Enfys - I do hope P's treatment has gone smoothly today and he doesn't get horrible after effects. A walk round the lake sounds a good idea, and what a nice facility to have in a hospital. Southampton Hosp seems to be surrounded by busy roads clogged with traffic, but the staff are great - very thoughtful and happy to answer questions.

Oma - I'd forgotten about the fate of your fruit trees! Cooper's pulled a few things up in our garden and like Storm he shares his ill-gotten gains!

Nanto - I remember hearing cuckoos in the Forest earlier in the year. We have still got seagulls flying round making a racket. We often get them in the winter, but in the summer they usually go back to the coast. I don't know why they're hanging around this year.

It's a beautiful day here - warm and sunny with a light breeze. I feel sorry for the people who can't sleep because of the heat, but I am still enjoying every minute of it. I think I should have been born in a hot country, not chilly, wet England!

Just going to have a cup of tea and then get on with some gardening.

Afternoon ladies I have updated YEO ,

I hope everyone is feeling well in this heat, there is no escaping it is there . At the moment we have a breeze but its very warm air so its not giving much relief ,

I started to dead head some flowers in the garden early this morning as it was fairly cool outside then but to my dismay I had to get OH to do it as it was too painful even to do a simple job like that .I had to point at which flowers needed doing as OH is OK with cutting grass and the hedge but that's where his green fingers talent end .
Foolishly I am planning to grow potatoes for Christmas in containers on the patio . I have ordered a pack of 9 seed potatoes , at this rate OH will be doing it with me cheering from the side lines. The potatoes we have growing at the moment are going really well . They are in a huge black bin on the patio and they have yielded a very good crop at the moment, in fact I haven't needed to buy any potatoes for several weeks now.

I will try and catch up with all the goings on here so in the mean time I hope you and your families are well.

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Oma - you would have loved the mobile unit this morning. The air con was going full blast and I was sorry I hadn't taken at least a cardigan.

Mimi - well done on yourpotato crop. I often main a few main crop about now for Christmas, but on the allotment they either float away or are frozen solid into the ground so you'd need a blow torch to get them out! That's not a bad idea, actually - instant roast potatoes!!!

                    LOL, Nan2, don't choke hubby!
Mimi , good to hear from you, I'm sorry that your back is so painful.
Daisy, I hope OH's eye settles down soon, and I'm glad you could stay at home not rush out again. Very thoughtful of your DS.

I spent some time with mum, and did her watering and some weeding. She hasn't been out for some time , apart from us visiting my sister a while ago. I must try to get her out.

Mimi good to hear from you, haven't read your Yeo update yet.

Daisy, hope your patient is in less pain now.

Played bowls, just 6 of us, I expect the others thought it was too hot, even in the hall. Feeling hot and sweaty now but can't be bothered to do anything about it. Wishing I had a swimming pool.

Plant, we have put up the padding pool ready for GS1 tomorrow. It is easily large enough for 2 adults, so you are welcome to come and cool off

Plant - have you tried out your lovely new car yet? You'll soon get used to it, I'm sure, and it will be so nice to be independent again. I'd love a swimming pool.

Gem - I'm on my way up to your house with GD1 and 2 first thing in the morning! They have got a paddling pool, but it's not a grand as yours. I shall have to stay at their house with them tomorrow - it's the first day of the New Forest Show which is huge and held in our village. The roads will be a nightmare, but I'll be going in the opposite direction so hopefully won't be too bad. I'm also hoping the worst of the traffic will have gone before I go to dog training as I have to go right past the showground. We were hoping to go on Wednesday, but it's probably not a good idea with OH's eye!

How is he Daisy? Did the specialist give any advice on aftercare? I really feel for him. 🤞it's more comfortable for him to be able to sleep.

Well Nan2 it's still hot here. 😉 Hoping you all manage to get some sleep. Was 30° here today. Phew.

On my way Gemini, will I be able to do breast stroke?

I filled up the car with petrol and drove to bowls, GD1 has set up a few techy bits for me, one or two changes but mostly the same. I forgot to say I went to see the new Mumma Mia on Sunday, very good, love the music
