I had a lovely evening with friends last night.
This morning we are taking auntie to John Lewis for a new TV. Her colours have gone totally bizarre, and she has had it a long time. Her son lives down south and is going on holiday soon, so it is much easier for us to take her. She never asks anything of us although we are always offering. OH should be able to set it up for her.

Been to feed and clean Cats out , Dog is fed now asleep again in the garden after having half hour of speed running around ,
Washing my hair this morning and he ran off with my hair towel and hid under the bed had to chase him with dripping hair

GM no B is just good at making things , he seen it somewhere on line and thought he would give it a go and it worked lovely ,
We often laugh as before he was ill he would make me some lovely stuff ,Hall table, Serving table for dining room with turned legs etc , but when we got our first house he couldn't even put a shelf up straight they would fall off the wall hahaha
Came a long way since them days

A quick good morning from less than sunny Devon. Rain has put our plans on hold - a walk on Exmoor isn’t great in the rain!! 😢. OH is glued to a flippin’ football match. I might do some painting!

I've not been a round the last few days as its been hard to feel cheerful as there we have been having a few problems family wise . But enough of me , how is everyone.

Oma I have had to run after pets in the most inopportune moment, usually mid dressing . I've lost count the amount of times I have had to abandon cleaning my teeth and had to give chase up the garden path to a cat that had been trying to fight with our cat. I must have looked like a mad woman, foaming at the mouth with toothpaste !
Oma the trinket box is very unusual isn't it

Gem there is a enormous choice of TV's out there . The start at basic ones then they have ones you can talk to, ones you can connect to the internet to ones that can ( at a huge cost I must add ) blend into the back ground so that it blends in with your wall paper or colour scheme . The idea being that when the TV is off you would have a big black screen . Best of luck with your choice

Daisy, sorry the walk over Exmoor is having to be cancelled, enjoy your painting. There are going to be a lot of football widows, football on three channels today.

Cat up the tallest fir tree in our garden, sil and DD trying to coax him down with a promise of his favourite treat. It really is a problem with him, I am looking after him early Sept. whilst they are away, hope he will have grown out of this desire to climb trees, he was on the roof yesterday (we live in a bungalow). We also have another problem with his safety, some years ago Red Kites were introduced to the Chiltern Hills and now they have multiplied and have moved into the more populated areas because people are feeding them, the wrong food in most cases. They are now stealing picnic food and have been known to take baby chicks and attack small cats. They are really carrion feeders but there is not enough road kill to feed them all. You can have as many as 8/10 flying over the house if someone is putting out food. My husband always said you shouldn't interfere with nature. Pleased to report that the kitten is down and indoors presumably in disgrace.

Mimi,our choice was easier as at almost 90 auntie has no internet and no wish for it, or any fancy channels or apps Her son did the legwork for us and sent her the details of several which John Lewis have and are suitable. She got a Sony Bravia 43 inch, we set it up easily, and took her old one the tip on the way home. Auntie very happy, and she gave us lunch too.

Nan2, our sunshine is gone and it is cloudy, but no rain apart for a bit of light drizzle so far here.

Back from Portugal yesterday evening. Community Choir practice this morning, Ocado delivery, lunch and then the best bit..... a visit from the new baby with lots of Nanna cuddles. If only you could bottle that new baby smell!

Just been for a very long walk with the dog , he was very good on the lead doing as he's told no tugging now he's older .
