Good morning everyone.
The sun is shining
Back to the daily trips to Leeds again, today until Saturday this week. Today DD2 is driving me. I have a midday slot, so we shall stop for lunch on the way back. Baby GS2 will be with us, GD will have some Grandpa time. OH will be on the golf course, as it's Tuesday!
Enjoy your day everyone.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning everyone.
we had a lovely Easter weekend. We went to DS and DIL for lunch on Sunday and yesterday we had a surprise visit from DD and SIL , they had been to Croft Castle in the morning and isn't too far from us . Nevertheless it was nice to see them and our GSs.
This morning DIL is picking me up and we are going to our local archive office. We want to look up the history of a wonderful house that has been put up for sale. This is no ordinary house , at the moment it belongs to the council, and part of it was turned into offices where DIL worked. Before that it belonged to a local family, when the only living relative passed away in the 1970s it was left to the council with instructions that it should serve the people of Hereford. The reason for selling is the upkeep...it's become a huge burden to keep it in good repair.
Now here is the twist in the tale....My dad was the gardener there and he would often take me with him when he was working there. I would watch him, milk the cows, mow the huge lawns etc and when I got board with that ( I was only about 7) I could go into the kitchen and cook would give me some biscuits or home made cake . Just think Downton Abbey but on a much, much smaller scale.Bring me sunshine in your smile.

It's Dads 90 the birthday in May, and we didn't know what to get him.
He has a few pieces of Pets with Personality, so we settled on Marvin Malard to add to his collection.
Mimi, your afternoon out sounds very interesting.Attached FilesLast edited by Nanto2girls; 18-04-2017, 02:55 PM.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Morning Nanto ,ladies , just shopping for me this morning and call in garden centre , want two really tall pots for each side of patio doors , then DD walking the dog over she's coming for lunch , back at work tomorrow .
GS1 called in last night he was out with friends and had been messing around as boys do and been hit with a iron pole on his eye brow a complete accident but he has a good black eye now and a fair size lump , so he came for grandad to take him home , DD wasn't pleased but accidents happen his friend who had done it was with him and felt awful said he didn't realise J was behind him , maybe it's a lesson learnedIm not fat just 6ft too small

Good morning, everyone. We have glorious sunshine - I hope it's the same all over the country!
Oma - poor J, and I bet his friend felt awful. Hopefully a lesson learnt without any serious comeback.
Nanto - enjoy your 'take it as it comes day' - I love days like that.
Hairdressers for me this morning - much needed! It looks as though we're going to be in chaos at home for much longer than expected. The plasterer has stopped answering the roofer's calls about when he's going to come and do our plastering, so OH has found another plasterer, but he's also very booked up - so it could be mid-May before the job's finished. The roofer is going to come in next Wednesday to do the plasterboarding, so at least we won't be having bits of insulation dropping on the kitchen floor, and then both ceilings will be skimmed and finished off first or second week in May! This was the 'quick' job that should have taken 2 weeks at most!!! Then of course, we've got to decorate, get new curtains for the dining room and, hopefully, a new rug."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Back from shopping looks nice out but it is FREEZING, I mean proper cold it took my breath away when I stepped out the door . I just put a jacket on and went back for my big coat and I don't feel the cold as much as other people but its like ice .
Daisy why doesn't anything go to plan , its so annoying and theres nothing you can do is there , these trades men know they have us and where they want us. its most likely a half day job costing a fortune but you just have to wait ,
I had the same thing ,a workman not turning up when he said he would so cancelled him and went else where .Im not fat just 6ft too small

Good morning
Oma, I don't think it is that cold here, but I have yet to go outside. It's almost May, for goodness sake - where is the lovely weather??!!
At least it is mild where you are Nan2!
Poor Josh, I'm glad the injury was no worse. That's boys I suppose!
Daisy, this job is going to take some time, isn't it? Good job you are not in the BB club, it would drive you nuts
Mimi, that is very interesting. I see material for Story Corner there, do you fancy writing one?!
4pm appointment today, so we won't leave until about 2.45. I have ironing to do, but whether it will actually get done is another matter!
This is the only late afternoon appointment I have, so I decided that we could stop off at a pub on the road home (just past the garden centre we keep frequenting ) on the way home, for a meal. No, we can't, as OH has a 7pm golf dinner
We pass a nice fish and chip restaurant a few minutes from home, so I am treating myself to take away fish and chips tonight, as a consolation prize, as no meal out!
Have a good day everyone.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
