Oh Pearl I do hope your kitchen fit goes well. Mine is going to be reinstalled on the 12th. I am not looking forward to it. I hope you have a great experience.

My my little people went about mid-day. They rolled around on the floor a lot in the duvet covers and then went into the garden to play. Because we are on a maisonette our garden is at the bottom of our (internal) stairs and although private has a gate to the road albeit a high gate. Joe (11) said he would take responsibility for the others and make sure the gate was kept closed. They played down there for a while and the Joe came back upstairs and asked to use my iPad. The other two were downstairs singing! I went down to hang my white washing, yes white is relevant. About twenty minutes later Ben came up and asked if they could use my washing in the show they were practising for me. We had a discussion and they wanted to move my white towels so they made a stage curtain. I reminded them the washing was wet and WHITE but agreed to move it around to make a stage curtain. As I was doing this mummies turned up. So we all became the audience. We listened to five songs one about Pokemons or pikachu which might be the same thing (I don't know), a couple of Abba songs and a couple of others which I know but have no idea how. We were sitting in the garden and of course had to cheer, clap and join in. One funny bit was when Sadie was being a backing dancer and her head ended up in the sleeve of grandads short sleeved uniform shirt which was on the line. No they did not put the duvets back in the cases like they promise but hey! I knew they wouldn't .......

Gave up the thought of working so sciving today and will catch up toros and Sunday as husband working. Made the meat sauce for moussaka for tomorrow and did the aubergines. I need to get more red wine tomorrow as I didn't have a lot left for cooking and I am not opening one of the good bottles of red to cook with so I will get a sort of decent one tomorrow, one for the pot, one for me sort of thing.

Foul weather today, we were so lucky with the weather yesterday for our beach trip. I got soaked to the skin walking the dog, he of course was not fazed in the least. But after saying for months I would buy myself a wet suit for just these events I finally logged onto regatta and was fortunate to get waterproofs in their sale at a greatly reduced price. Nothing happening here today all quiet as I am in work over the weekend. Eldest DD called to finalise details of the girls weekend with us on 16th of the month and to say as she was driving to pick up N she saw Paul Gascoigne in lower parkstone stumbling around with a can in his hand. So sad how he has fallen off the wagon once again.

Libra Gran you have to wonder how much longer Paul Gascogine can go on. He liver must be in a shocking state. He had so much , now his life must be very sad and lonely.

Just finished chatting to my 5 year old GS on the phone. He told me the weather there is dreadful and mummy wont let him have his pool out in the garden ! He also informed me that they were waiting for the Tesco grocery order to arrive and it came to a total of £196 !
DD said it was no where near that amount and where on earth does he get that idea from. ?
OH and myself have been tiding up the garden .We had on flower tub that has taken a bit of bashing in the wind and it looked very tatty so that has been emptied and the tub washed and put away till next spring . I hate it when summer starts to fade..
Next week I must get to town and buy some daffodil bubs for out the front along by the hedge, I'm going to need well over 100 bulbs so that will be a back breaking task for some one..... Oh wait that will be me I suppose !

I have been quite lazy Drove to the library, emptied dishwasher, had reflexology. Then I made some bread in the breadmaker and made a dozen buns. Somehow 2 are missing before I even ice them
None of that was taxing. Mind you I have a busy week next week with all 3 GC to look after and, CS1 overnight on Friday, plus work, so I'll take a couple of easy days now, thank you very much

Gem, I got it from eBay (it's brand new ) . They come in child's and adult sizes and lots of different colours, some have the tail a different colour than the body. I chose one that is just one colour but the body is patterned as if it has scales. I got the adults size as GD is almost as tall as me now so I didn't think the child's size would be big enough.
These can also be purchased from a web site called Twinkledeals.com The reason I got it from eBay was just convince, I already have an account there so it seemed easier. On both sites the prices were about the same. They are an average of £16-£18 .

A bit late in this morning.I have been rearranging one of the kitchen cupboards, but I'm still not happy with it,so will have to do it again.

Not going shopping today, nothing we need really, but hubby is going to his help his brother with something.
Pearl, I hope the kitchen fitting goes well.

Pearl we don't have a "hive" we have a "nest". It is a little round thing that sits on the side and you can alter it manually for the heating to go on, off, up or down or you can do via an app on your phone. Is that what a hive does or is it a measurement thing?

Glad to hear your kitchen fit sounds rather more calm than mine was. Just off out to do a bit of shopping, I do have a Sainsbury delivery once a week but there are little bits that pop up (or don't as it were). I shall also be delivering my stuff to the ironing fairy. Huge bag as has a lot of duvet covers in.

We had a lovely day today. We arrived at DSs new flat, after a cuppa we went for a walk and relived some memories which included having to sample some fish and chips from the chip shop we would have brought fish and chips from when we were children.
Then we strolled over to see younger DS and DIL who live just 7mins walk from DSs flat. There we spent the afternoon in the garden in the glorious sunshine drinking coffee, putting the world to rights and dare I say it discussing Christmas . ( I will now go and stand in the corner with Nan2)
Mimi -What a lovely day you had. I find it fascinating how people can end up spending most of their lives together and how they come to meet in the first place. I suppose as children we just see each other as 'children', if that makes sense. But I think it's great to have so much shared history. I grew up in Stoke on Trent and my OH in North Wales, but when I was about 6 my parents nearly moved to Prestatyn (N. Wales) and if we had I would have gone to the same school as my OH. We'd probably have had nothing at all todo with each other at that stage!

Good morning everyone. It was a chilly miserable day here yesterday, but we managed to fit in Eva's walk between showers. I'm hoping I might get a load of whites out on the line before the rain comes back - and hopefully I won't have a wandering theatre group like Zizi's to 'help' them dry!

Pearl - I do hope your kitchen work goes well. You'll be delighted with it I'm sure.

Zizi - You survived yesterday! Well done.

Mimi - I think that corner is going to get a bit crowded between now and ...(you know when) !!

Our garden took a bit of a bashing in yesterday's rain. All the golden Rod have flopped across the patio where the table is and a couple of top-heavy tomato plants have collapsed. I'm starting to think about planting bulbs in the front garden. I have a whole load of them heeled in by the compost bins which I took out before the garden was redone in January, so I'm hoping there will be enough. Of course, they're all mixed up so I've no idea which is which - I can always call it naturalistic planting of something!

Nanto and Gem - I hope you have a nice, relaxing day. We all need them sometimes and Gem, you have a very busy week ahead. I've got an extra day with GD2 this coming week, plus dog training starting up again. Later in the month OH's youngest brother and his wife are coming down for a few days, hopefully bringing their puppy with them - he and Eva haven't met yet and I think we'll be in for a lively time. We're also trying to arrange for a few days away in the caravan before then - a sort of maiden voyage!

Good morning, or, I think it's just afternoon!
Dismal and raining here. We had planned a walk but we are not going!
We are eating out with friends tonight. I fancy a mooch around the cheap shops later (Poundland, BM Bargains etc) which I haven't done for ages.

Thank Mimi, I will look up the fishtail blankets.
