Good morning everyone. It's bright and sunny here after a lot of rain overnight.

MY OH is still at GS1's, and Eva is missing him. She's off her food and not her usual self. How can you explain things like that to a dog! I'm going to take her for a run before training this afternoon to see if that cheers her up a bit.

I've started a separate thread for any comments on the American election.

Nana - did you sleep better last night?

    Have a good Wednesday everyone.

Afternoon ladies ,its very cold hear I don't usually feel it but Dog has been in and out all day so door is constantly being opened letting cold air in .
This morning we went shopping and OH went into a games shop so I waited outside , Watching people go by its amazing what you notice . Apart from it seemed every other person was a older couple pushing a child around or holding onto a toddler some of the sights you see makes the mind boggle , men walking around in shorts in this weather , and has anyone noticed people don't get dressed these days even the older generation are in casual clothes , one elderly couple had matching joggers and trainers on and matching Base ball caps . I think I must be getting old as I expect people to be smartly dressed when they go out like they did years ago , now it seems anything goes , the sign of the times I suppose

Yes Oma anything goes these days.

I am not going far today as I have an ECG monitor strapped to me, part of the tests to try and find out why I keep falling

Not many seem to dress smartly these days Oma.
Plant,Mam had one of those to wear last year, didn't help much,as i don't think she wore it long enough to give them any answers.

Oma - I was thinking the very same about how scruffy most people look these days. I was out shopping and most people were not just casually dressed, but scruffy, with greasy hair in need of a good cut, terrible down-at-heel boots or trainers, jeans that looked in need of a good wash and black puffa jackets. It honestly wasn't that cold! But then, you get the men in shorts and t-shirts as well - and it's not as though they are showing off great bodies, is it! Very few people looked smart and very few women were wearing make-up.

Plant - I hope the ECG monitor helps to get to the bottom of why you are having these falls.

We went to see " The Girl on the Train" today. I'm glad I'd read the book as I think I would have been a bit confused otherwise.

Nan2 if tonic water was the cure I wouldn't have any cramp as I drink a fair amount with my gin!!!!

It has been cold here and very rainy. Was chucking it down when I went out at 7am. Even getting from the car park to the station made me soaking wet. Hope it will be better tomorrow. My meeting has been cancelled for tomorrow but now I have to go to town on Friday early which I am not too thrilled about as we are going to Gatwick Friday afternoon.

Zizi - the pressure's on if you're having to work Friday morning and leave for the airport on Friday afternoon. Have you done your packing - posh flipflops, swim suits, glam frock for evenings and some bling. It's wonderful going somewhere where you know the weather will be reliable.

Well Daisy, the swimsuits and cover ups, the toiletries, sun stuff, hair spray, medicine type stuff, baby wipes etc. are all in a pile. The undies are in a pile along with socks. The cardies and the gifts for the grandchildren of our friends are in another pile. Tomorrow the ironing fairy brings everything back and once I have my couple of bits from there I will pack the cases leaving enough room for himself to put his stuff in.

I dont take glam stuff to Barbados, it just doesn't seem necessary, it is so relaxed there. I do take a couple of nice long cotton skirts and wraps but mostly I do knee length skirts and tee shirts. There will be a little bit of rain while we a there but Barbados rain is different to our rain, it is warm, comes down very quickly and then is gone. The locals know that we are British when it is raining because we are the only ones who walk about in the rain, everyine else takes cover. If you are walking in the rain one of them will invariably say "you must be British".

We are going to Gatwick by National Express Coach from Terminal 5 Heathrow. Very easy for us to get to on public transport, short walk across the two rivers, one stop on the free bus, one minute from bus stop to National Express stop. £53 return for two people (although we had to pay £10 each for a senior travel card) but normal fare would be £25 each way so it is a saving and we will be going on holiday in March as well and the cards last three years so it is a saving and it saves me stress on the M25, we are staying over Friday night at the Hilton, much more civilised than gnashing teeth in traffic. We are getting the 4.20pm bus so I can get to Kings Cross early and come back again to be home for about 11, it will give me plenty of time as long as husband does what he promises i.e. Changes the bed linen, puts the computers and valuables in the safe place, does his own packing etc.

I will post some pictures of my kitchen (at last) before I go. It is painted now. It does look nice but I think that the kitchen company think they have dodged a bullet as they are not responding to any of my emails re compensations forms/payments etc. I am going to send them an email tomorrow telling them that they have until the 25th November to respond positively or we will take legal advice, contact the ombudsman and anything else I can do without jeapordising our claim.

Oh and the other thing is that I ordered some items for my holiday from Marisota on 3rd November (order before 10pm received next day) still waiting. Emailed them a couple of times but it takes them 48 hours to respond so I telephoned them today because the email response today was that if the items were not here in 48 hours they would treat the order as lost. In 48 hours I am not going to be here! The woman on the phone was good and cancelled the original order and said the new order would be here tomorrow for sure. Unfortunately some lovely dove grey leather gloves I ordered are now out of stock. The carrier was Hermes who I haven't had a problem with before but tracking the order has been a chore, yes I know I said I didn't need anything else for my holiday but you do have to have at least one new thing don't you? I know leather gloves do not qualify for Barbados but "poetic licence".

sorry this is so long, I just went into one 😜😎😎😎😎😎😎

You all sound such busy bees. I'm laying here in the dark & my outward breath sounds like ....well I can't describe it really. Tizzy, have you got room in your suitcase for me please? I think the sun & sea might be what I need.😎 Docs again in the morning. I daren't tell you this because you'll recommend the kn*****s yard. The coughing has been so intense it's caused my umbilical hernia to grow to the size of a small melon.🙈 Tizzy, you'd better make that a large suitcase.

                              Good morning.

Heavy rain here this morning. I think it's rained nearly all night, we were both awake at 3o'clock,so we got up and had a cuppa.
ZIZI, maybe the gin stops the tonic water from working. Look forward to seeing the photos of the kitchen.
