      Good morning, ladies

dull here but but at least no rain. Well done Mimi on making the appointment, it has to be done . Just lie back and think of England!

we have the "men" coming on Monday too start our bathroom renovation.......can't wait to have it done but am dreading it at the same time. I have made plans to go out with a friend on Monday and will stay out as long as possible. The first couple of days will be spent removing tiles etc so best I'm out of the way!

re the dog situation, when DD decided they wanted a puppy we had a long talk about what would happen when she was at work. We volunteered to have him for those two days, or at least part of the day, and we are still happy to do it. He is such a lovely dog and gives us so much pleasure. It's like having your own pet without the problems . It's not fair to leave them on their own for too long.

have a have a good day everyone

Good morning, ladies. I think we could have done better weather-wise for Nanto's son's birthday!! It's dull and grey here and definitely not summer temperatures.

Today is the first day since last Thursday when I don't have to go out anywhere. I never thought a day at home could become a luxury!! Depending on the weather, I'll either do the dreaded housework or enjoy myself pottering round the garden and greenhouse.

Oma - I hope Brian's appointment goes well. Hey take it easy - Dunelm AND Screwfix in one day - it's too much excitement, hun.

Enfys - How lovely, having your DD's dog 2 days a week. As you say, you get the fun without the worries and responsibilities. We had our ensuite done about 18 months ago. It took about a month, but once we got used to negotiating the stairs with dustsheets on them, it was ok. They cleared up every day and water and electricity were never off for long. And it's well worth it when it's finished. Tell us about what you're having done and colours etc. You know what a nosey lot we are.

We do the same with DD dog , we have him two days and other parents have him two days but we do take him on other days if needed , the same as you Enfys the pleasure of having a dog but no vets bills etc and we can hand him back at end of day 😊.
When we had out bathroom ripped out a few years ago and turned into a wet room it only took 4 days mind you it is tiny , but it was freezing cold and workmen had front door wide open all day ,when they took the old tiles off they put them all in the bath and slid that down the stairs on wooden planks saved them carrying buckets up and down was worth it though , when I come to think about it every time we have had something done it's been cold , in our old house the time we had new windows and doors put in it was snowing 😲😊

            Good morning everyone.
I feel for your DD, mimi. Exciting times though!

Birthday shopping for SIL this morning. The hamper I made up for my other SIL earlier this month was a huge success, I am doing the same for this one.
Usual Thursday routine with my mum the rest of the day.

I hope the sun shines on you all today

Gem I stole your idea and I have already started boxes for SIL his Dad and Brian , men are so hard to buy for this way I can get things they like throughout the year and fill the boxes up 😀
Had some more good news today a lady we know from the unit had her bone marrow transplant 3 weeks ago everything went well and she is already home , so that cheered us up she is only young with small children so we so pleased for her and her family 😊

That is similar to what I do at Christmas for my sons and dils. I buy throughout the year.

That is good news about that young mother, I hope the same happens to Brian.

Oh whoops I have just looked at my phone (my personal one, not my work one) and the screen has a crack across it. It wasn't like that yesterday. Oh well it is time for a renewal anyway. It isn't a deep crack, looks more like a scratch but it is annoying.

Oma has Brian got shares in the NHS he seems to frequent this place quite regularly lol
Today we went out for lunch we have decided each week as reward lol we will eat out or go off for the day watch this space, Daisy you are on par with me you should be doing the same mind you I did clean 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and 2landings before I went out , I was up early as eldest g/d who is 5 now knows our phone number off by heart and we regularly get a call about 7.30 as we did today saying morning grandma or granddad depending on who answers , thing is DD knows nothing about it she's usually getting organised for work it's only when she hears her talking and there is a gap in the conversation she realises that someone else is talking to her. Hope she never knows her other g/p number they live in South Africa 😱

                            Bye-Bye baby bumble bee!!

This morning I played nursemaid to an exhausted bee in our greenhouse. It hardly had the energy to move but a put a few drop of sugar water just in front of it and it drank it all up, and 5 minutes later was flying round looking for the way out!

Qwerty - yes, getting out for lunch once a week would be lovely, and a well deserved break for us grans. When we've got Eva to the stage where we can take her to places I'm going to make sure we visit all the dog-friendly pubs in the area!!!

Nana - one of the very good reasons for NOT doing the washing is that it creates more ironing!!!

Zizi - any thought on what sort of phone you will get?

Bless him Qwerty, it's what boys do. Hope GD doesn't learn the number for her other grandparents, could turn out expensive.

Oma, lovely to hear about the transplant success, hope Brian stays on track for his.

Blumming bees have nested in our blue tit bird box. Would rather have the birds.
