Morning girls, still wet and foggy here too.
Libra at my last eye check up (I wear glasses) the optician noted a small haemorrhage at the back of the eye (no symptoms because of location) She wrote a letter for my GP asking for blood tests, as it could have been caused by various conditions, but as the tests came back normal, I was told it was just a random happening. I guess we are aware of a lot more things nowadays as we are checked more often, which can't be bad, apart from making us anxious.A day without wine is like a day without sunshine....

Good morning everyone.
Lots of fog when I woke, but it is clearing now. I have picked up a lot more fallen apples from the soggy lawn, and now I have date with the ironing board
GD from school later, and a couple of friends dropping in this evening.βA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.β β Unknown

Good morning ladies. I'm back from my travels.A long weekend with DD and family in Hertfordshire then over to Essex to visit my sister and BIL.Then back for another weekend with DD and the GC.
The first weekend was GS's 11th birthday. He had the whole class to a swimming party! All went well though F spent the whole time playing about on his own while the others all had fun together. When the children were all sitting down to pizza I was sad to see that no one sat next to F on either side. Another reminder that because of his ASD he doesn't socialise very well and consequently gets "left out" and has no real friends. It broke my heart to see him quietly eating his pizza while at the other end of the table the rest of his class were laughing and noisy, typical 11 year olds. The only comfort is F himself doesn't seem to notice and if asked lists of loads of names as being his friends.
Anyway back to the old routine when I can get everything sorted and put away. I brought back a big bag of apples from DD's so I'm hoping to make some Apple Chutney!
It'll take a while to catch up with you all but I'll do my best.I hear rumours of a party,I must investigate!
The weather here is dull and rainy but no fog.Best Wishes to you all.x

Welcome back Clover, sounds like your going to be busy with the chutney. Made me feel sad about your grandson but Im sure he is a happy boy and it sounds like he enjoyed his Birthday. Its a miserable rainy day here, hoping it stops in time for collecting girls from school. Hope everyone is okay."What doesn't kill us,makes us stronger."

Clover - it's heartbreaking for us Grans to see our very special ASD babies looking sad and lonely. It breaks my heart, too. I think it's great that all his class came to his party - they wouldn't do that if they didn't like him. They probably find it hard to communicate with him because he doesn't react like all their other friends. I've watched similar situations with my GS1, but going to secondary school does seem to have helped a bit, plus he's developing more mainstream hobbies - even if they centre around Minecraft and computer operating systems. Not many of his classmates wanted central heating boilers or light bulbs for Christmas!! This time next year, things might look a lot different. In the meantime, you know that F will go at his own pace and he will make closer friendships eventually. Big hug. xx

Well Josh and Dog gone home I have just hoovered as Storm decided to eat the ears of a Bumble bee toy and leave bits everywhere then he kept running into the garden and bringing in mouth fulls of wet leaves , so have had to be bleach the floors and clean nose marks off the patio windows , Josh managed to spill coke on the sofa so had that to be cleaned , Honestly it's worse than having a house full of toddlers , Before that when we went to pick Storm up after being to hospital I picked his harness up and a tub of food that was on DD work top got home filled his water bowl and put food in another bowl and he went crazy eating it I though gosh he's hungry only to then realise I had filled his bowl with treats I had picked the wrong tub up , by that time he had ate most of it π² must have been at least a weeks worth of treats ate in seconds , oops πIm not fat just 6ft too small

Welcome back Clover
It is sad to hear about your GS at his party. The consolation has to be that he himself is unaware, and as Daisy said, he must ge well liked for the children to have come to his party.
