My OH goes under the knife for her trapeziectomy operation today. I dropped her off early. There are no facilties on the day ward for visitors to stay with patients, so as we live 10 minutes drive away I came home. Time to catch up on some lovely housework
I think she is going to find having her right hand out of action for some time really hard.[/QUOTE]

Hope the op goes well. That will play havoc with the golf. Hope it doesn't take too long to get over.

Thanks Nan2. All well. She's home and settled on the sofa, with a cuppa and Pointless

I opened a post from someone about not seeing a post and then my laptop crashed and I have lost it. Someone who has been away, I didn't have a chance to properly look at it so I don't know who it was......

It could have been this post from Grauntie Mag, who has been away recently.

Well, we went, we saw ,we did our best. It was the first Saga experience and probably the last. The hotel was very clean, not a cockroach in sight, dining room and food perfectly acceptable but it was a family hotel, not for crinklies like us. The jacuzzi was directly beneath our balcony and constantly full of children. If there had been a 'boil' option I would have used it.
We used the Saga lounge and met some very nice people. As a group of eight we didn't need other people but we are a friendly bunch and joined in.
Sadly we learned that one person had to spend a week in intensive care, another turned out to be an alcoholic and a yet another passed away the day before we (and they,) were due home.
Back to self catering or boutique type hotels I think.

So where has it gone then???

i should tell you that when we went on holiday in 2013, we were on the charter plane and husband was given a meal. He said that we hadn't ordered a meal and cabin crew woman said "oh all of our saga customers get a meal". Although he was 60 at the time he was quite miffed, I laughed, I didn't get offered a meal!

The "boil" option reminds me of being on a tube a couple of years ago and everything was quiet as usual apart from the noise from inconsiderate people and their headphones. A large group of seven to eight year olds got on with their teachers and, as usual for that age, were excitedly chatting and laughing etc. An old boy who had been reading the Times remarked loudly and grumpily "And where is King Herod when you need him". I must admit I did have a little smile to myself.......

                                Good morning nan2

OH's hand was very painful, once the anaesthetic wore off around 10pm last night. She had a bad reaction to the co codemol, so we didn't have a very restful night. The hospital say to alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen instead, so hopefully that will help. She slept this morning and has just got up. We managed her dressing between us
I have to go out for a few hours later to take mum shopping and to the Drs. Hopefully OH will cope in my absence!
