Good luck, Avo. I hope the sale goes through smoothly and quickly.

I took Clyde to the groomers this morning, and now he's looking very smart, and sleeping off all the excitement!

I do wish the weather would make up its mind though - sunny one minute (the one when you choose to leave your coat at home) and the next, it's pouring down and I'm soaked! Grrr…...

last night Ben actually stayed. BUT despite having previously slept in the bunk beds many times he got upset last night. So he slept with granddad and grandma slept in the bunk bed. This was actually quite good from our point of view as mummy had forgotten to put the sleep mat in his overnight bag so having him sleeping next to one of us was reassuring. Problem was that I got up in the night forgetting that there was a bunk above me and gave myself a big whack on the head and still have a lump in addition, because I was a bit dazed and the black out curtain was in the window I became completely disoriented and walked into the half open door leaving me with a bruise on my arm.

I went to Sandhurst today as a guest with my Business Connector colleagues. We saw the last rehearsal before the passing out parade and it was fabulous. They have three cohorts a year and the passing out students are obviously the ones who have completed their year, behind them were the intermediate cohort and then those who have only been there for fourteen weeks, my instinct is to say "starters" but I am sure that is not what they were called. At the end of the main parade which was fully explained by a colleague BCs husband who is a Lieutenant Colonel (not sure if I spelt that right but you get the gist). The leaving students process into the 1811 building and up the steps followed by the various senior officers wit large gaps in between. The horse that the main officer (forgot the rank) was in at the front of the parade started to get agitated BUT it turned out that he wasn't really agitated, he just knew that he was due to go last and he was eager for his time to come as when it did come he behaved beautifully and proceeded through the lines to the steps, went up the steps and disappeared from view.

It did rain today but we were under cover. We had a picnic only it was an indoor one as the area that had been reserved for us was a bit soggy. I programmed my sat nav but I knew it was a straight run down the A30 although wasn't quite sure where exactly the academy was. The flipping thing kept trying to put me on the M25 and when I ignored it the flipping thing kept telling me to do a u turn. In the end I turned it off as I was confident that I could find it and fed up with hearing "make a u turn". I think it has lost its memory! It is quite old now and I thought about buying a new one but I want to wait until I find out what is going to happen when I go back into the business. If my job is such that I am not going to be doing a lot of here-ing and there-ing I will live with the inefficiency of the old technology but if I am going to be expected to do a lot of driving I will invest in a new one.

A very interesting day ZIZI, and night. Well done to Ben for staying overnight, bet he loved snuggling up to granddad. He will probably gain more confidence about staying,as time goes on.

Zizi - I can imagine how brilliant the passing out parade rehearsal was - no wonder you enjoyed it, despite being war-wounded from sleeping in the bunk bed. My DS and family live in Sandhurst and people always ask if they are military! It's a nice town though, and very convenient for lots of places. The only trouble I find in approaching it from the north/London is coming off the M3 and finding my way round all the roundabouts, which head off to Frinmey, Camberley, Windlesham and lots of other places! Everywhere seems to run into everywhere else, so you did well - or your sat nav did. You have been to some interesting events during your secondment.

I turned the thing off Daisy. From where I am it is straight down the A30 one big roundabout, aecond exit, keep going ignore everything else. Bruddy sAt nav "make a u turn" SHUT UP!

Ben went home a happy little boy and hopefully next time I don't have to sleep in the bunk , but if I do I hope to remember there is a thing to bash me so I can avoid it. Either that or not need to go to the loo in the middle of the night.

Good morning, Nanto. Those flowers cheer up a dull, damp start to the day in this part of the world.

Have a good day everyone -whatever the great British Summer chooses to do.

It was very overcast earlier this morning, but the sun has come out and it's quite warm now.
