Did my big event for BITC Give and Gain Day today. Up at 5am, in town by 7.15. Event 8 until 10.30 bringing business and community together. Waitrose supplied wonderful breakfast. Clearing up and then on to two other G&G day events.

First a fantastic roof garden in the middle of a large council housing estate in London, 2nd event, great project run by students union at Roehampton university to clear 100 year old orchard. Was asked to wield a shovel but cited my long fingernails and lack of protective gloves so got away with it!

Not good Mimi - hurry up Monday for the hospital. It started in Portugal and I thought it was an insect bite but it has got worse and worse and not responded to antibiotics but until the hospital confirm its shingles I am still on the antibiotic and on antiviral and eye drops. I have sores on my eyebrow and my eye is swollen and red and it feels like someone is putting burning needles into me. We're off to France on Tuesday - not looking forward to it now .Still, its only a short trip come home on Saturday. Oh, well, i'm sure there are people worse off than me. I'll try and cheer up now !

I never got on here yesterday baby J had hospital app at 9.45 and they were at our house by 10.30, they left them as they are going away for a week today and needed to pack the car etc she brought their night clothes just in case they were late,well that was an obvious sign they wernt picking them up early in fact it was 7 pm A Loooooooong day but this coming week is our own apart from picking g.d up from school and out for tea as her childminder who normally picks her up is on holiday. What shall I do with myself!!!!!!!!

Shingles is sooooo painful and horrible in your eye , I hope they can give you something for it .
It is more luck than anything else that I manage to post here , still finding it hard to navigate , I am a slow learner
My window boxes arenen't growing much and they do need to be out by the end of the month to stop people sitting on the window sills ! I have had them stolen twice , so we have wire round them now

Avo that sounds awful - sorry I didn't see your post before as has just been popping on and off. I didn't know you could get shingles in your eyes! I have a thing about my eyes. I have even crossed eyes off my organ donating card!! I hope they can get you sorted.

Today we are going, with friends, to Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We are all invited to lunch first with some other friends who live near there. I think all the animals will be hiding, its dull and looks like rain!
