I have cl***ed the kitchen, bathroom and sitting room to within an inch of their lives, put out a whole load of washing. Veggies all peeled and waiting for the off, meat out of fridge. Red wine decanted, white wine and fizz in fridge along with beers. Nibbles on the table - they will be here in an hour or so, still don't know if the errant one is coming so we have done enough veg for two more just in case. Oh I have also made a pear crumble as Sainsbury substituted my requested profiteroles for four big choux buns which aren't suitable for a dessert, disappointing but not the end of the world. I had some bottled pears in the cupboard which I often have (or grapefruit) for breakfast and I have custard mix and plenty of milk plus single cream for the lemon tart I bought.
Looking forward to seeing them however many turn up, haven't had them here since Christmas. If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Sorry, wrote this before I read a later post. I'm sure you'd have enjoyed Sheffield with all those new foods to taste.Last edited by Nana; 24-05-2015, 06:04 PM."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

I am not really doing anything today except nipping to local town centre as I have to get some make up wipes. Need to polish the good glasses and put away. Decanted a good bottle of Rioja yesterday but unusually nobody wanted red so have covered the top and will HAVE to have a couple of glasses tonight. The rest I will put into ice cube bags and keep for sauces and gravy, shame it was a good bottle.
Middle son actually turned up to lunch yesterday - nearly fainted with surprise but good to see him and he wasn't contentious either. Ben decided that he was going to show us his up coming performance from his acting school. How sweet. Then he decided that I was going to act with him. I had to introduce him "enthusiastically" and go through the performance we had practiced which meant pretending to trip him up and throttling him!!! Then I had to be his comedy partner, he carefully wrote down what I was to do. I was an evil grandma, we were both zombies, we had to jump into the hall and make screaming noises while we were in the "turn good machine" ............ Where does all this come from? You do not have permission to view this gallery.

Went into lounge earlier and OH sitting watching test match on TV. Says he : it's a bit boring at the moment and then NZ lost a wicket. So I sat down just for a little while and ended up watching the rest of the match! I did go and plant out some sweet peas in the tea interval and I'm off to make up the spare bed with newly washed bed linen!
Off to GS sit tomorrow, so will come back exhausted no doubt. OH can't help because he's got blood tests booked before his 6 monthly check up!!!Believe you can and you're halfway there.
