Where has that year gone Qwerty Its been a lovely, warm day here,I'm on the last leg of painting the kitchen, sometimes I wish it was small then it wouldn't be so much work We had chish & fips from the shop for lunch and we are having chicken casserole tomorrow. All easy peasy so I don't have to stop to cook or have the OH under my feet cooking.

Goodnight all. I am feeling rather blessed after watching the VE party on the BBC this evening. It makes me realise that being born in the 1950s I was very lucky. In truth we really 'never had it so good' .

            Good morning

Happy belated first birthday party day to little M and J Qwerty!

We had a good night last night. Lovely meal, board games, seeing our friends Australia pics on the TV screen. Bonus was an invitation to each of the 3 couples there to the August wedding of the host couple

Out today tosee the carpet of bluebells near our friends parents farm. Her mum gives us lovely homemade cakes and biscuits too!

I said yesterday morning to husband that the 70th anniversary celebrations made me think about the fact that we were born so soon after the war. I remember playing in my granddad's old air raid shelter at the bottom of the garden which he had turned into a shed. It was also turned into a shop for me with my nana keeping endless packets and sellotaping them up so I could "sell" them. We were not often in this country when I was little so now I think about it they must have really regretted us being so far away.

                  What a morning!
Knocked over a plant pot that had night scented stock in. It went all over the patio.
Spilled cereal on to the kitchen work tops.
Prepared carrots , red pepper and onion to go into a casserole and missed the casserole dish and most of it went on the floor.
And to top it all the cat has done a whoopsie on one of my throws and it's only just gone 1pm. Roll on bed time!

I'd lie down in a darkened room for the rest of the day Mimi!!

Well I've got two choices : I can put up with not hearing everything that's being said or I can have hearing aids!! He did say my hearing wasn't too bad for someone of my age!! But there was a definite hearing loss, so it wasn't just me imagining it.

My OH is like you WG. Same diagnosis! So far she hasn't gone for the hearing aids. I wish she would. I am sick of SHOUTING, and filling in the dialogue she misses at the cinema
