Plant - I do hope you've met the 'going home' criteria, and are now safely tucked up in your own bed. More gentle hugs. xxxxx

Oma - glad B found his driving licence. I've just renewed mine online - and they have used the same photo as last time. Yipeeee, at least someone thinks I'm not looking any older.

Yes Daisy, I am back in my own bed, finding it difficult without the adjustable bed, but it will be more peaceful

When I renewed mine on line they used my passport picture which is hideous! It was cheaper to do that than submit a new one.

PLANT glad you are back home. Hope you are as comfortable as you can be xx.

Well today went well, NOT! Got to Kings Cross with ten minutes to spare, warned receptionist of impending 18 student/2 adult engagement due. Waited. Waited. Waited. Did not have a mobile number for college adult as he failed to send it. Phoned a colleague on neighbouring site to find that he had received a call from college and advised them to call me. He said that there were only six students now and they were running late. 45 minutes later a call from colleague to say that they had turned up on site. Ummmm detailed directions to training centre even down to "landmarks" not enough for you?

Someone from training centre decided that he knew better than me and kidnapped proceedings, loved the sound of his own voice, I had to chivvy him several times and even then we were slipping further and further behind. Finally got to the viewing platform by the site and even then, although he knows nothing of the site and it's workings, he wouldn't shut his mouth, frustrating. I pointed out the gas holders which are listed and explained how we were building residentials inside them and the flats were a bit like the shape of a slice of pizza. He more or less said I didn't know what I was talking about. We finally got to the actual site tour to be told ........ Flats are very like the shape of a slice of pizza. Thank you.

He still kept on and on and on talking so much so that where the plan was that we would finish about 12.45 we didn't actually finish until almost two hours later so I missed my next meeting. A) how come sometimes people cannot read an email with explicit directions and turn up on time and in he right place? B) how come sometimes people just do not let you get on with doing the job you know so well. C) how come sometimes I fail to wring the bruddy neck of someone who deserves it? Answers on the back of a first class postage stamp please...... as a matter of interest the gas holders were sent for refurbishment and were found to have 122 coats of paint (originally built 1880) which had to be removed. Inside two of them the flats are being built, they are really quite tiny. The two bedroomed ones will go for, wait for it, £3.5 million. There will be vertical lifts to a car park within the building, the kitchens and bathrooms in the most expensive flats will be bespoke where the cheaper ones (only £2 million for one bed, no balcony or car parking space) will have pods. Inside the third will be leisure space, not sure what will be included in that exactly.

Meeting in High Barnet with hospice charity tomorrow cancelled this afternoon. Time is getting short for the charity event we are doing for them so it is a bit worrying. I need to go and get my Birmingham rail ticket tomorrow and also a wedding anniversary present for husband (Monday next week). I will be getting the bus on Thursday to the station as I don't want to leave my car overnight in the station car park. Pain in the bottom as it will add time on to my journey especially on the way back but best thing to do. Have arranged to have bag looked after at New Street Premier when I get there and will get a cab to Library of Birmingham (which we built) as the walk is twenty minutes and the drive (allegedly) is four minutes.

Thank goodness it is relatively warm here as we have no hot water or heating due to boiler being replaced. That is about the gist of my news for today. I fell asleep earlier and am now full of life, I will suffer tomorrow I am sure.

Oma, pleased you found Brians driving licence.

Daisy, hope hubby's back is getting less painful.

Not the best of days then ZIZI.

Plans for today are get the the housework done, then cut the grass while hubby gets on with his planned jobs, in the garden.

                  Good Morning all.

Plant, I'm glad you are home. Some sort of backrest is needed to replace the support you had from the hospital bed I think.

Zizi, you had a extremely frustrating day. I bet you did want to strangle that man!

Oma, does that mean B is driving again?!

Lunch with DD1 and GS1 at a farm cafe with play area today. DD2 and GS2 may join us
Then picking up GD. Not sure yet whether she is coming back to ours or I will take her home. All very unknown in these early baby days with DD2 not at work!

                    Good morning everyone.

Plant - I'm so glad you're home and hope the 'equipment' you mentioned includes an adjustable back rest for your bed. Have you got one of those v-shaped pillows to give your shoulder some support?

Zizi - It all sounds a bit chaotic - it must be soooo frustrating when you're very well organised (as I know you are!).

Oma - another Storm-filled day! At least it's not raining (?) so no muddy paws. It's funny how dogs seem to know what time it is. We usually feed Eva about 5.30 pm, but breakfast can vary between 7 am and 8.30. The other day I was working in the garden and she suddenly starting fussing round me, nudging me, standing in front of me. It was 5.28, and I hadn't realised!

Nanto - isn't it lovely when you can sit out like that without freezing! Have a lovely day in your garden and leave the housework.

Gem - that sounds like a lovely day. enjoy it. x

We've got our second dog-training session at lunch-time. After a busy day with GD2 yesterday I'm quite happy to potter round doing nothing much this morning.

Beautiful sunny morning here too. DIL is coming with baby and dog after lunch so will go for a nice walk (she's got one of those baby carriers you wear) as we will be going across the fields. Going to London on Friday staying overnight and going to see Show Boat Matinee on Saturday. Unfortunately we have to go to a funeral before we catch the train so working out what to wear for the journey is a bit tricky .... especially is the forecast is warm . Maybe a black dress and take a nice bright cardigan and scarf to add after the service then can change once we've checked into hotel.... or black trousers, and a top (also adding some colour later) .... what do you think?
