Morning all. Still in Birmingham. Went for dinner last night and was (obviously) sitting at a table on my own. The waitress sat a chap on his own two ta les away from me. That chap said to me "is this a regular hang out for you" not terribly original I think you will agree about as good as "do you come here often". I said I had been to Birmingha, several times, he asked if he could join me at my table and I told him that would not be appropriate. He went quiet and then asked if I would join him for a drink after our meal I said no thanks. The waitress, quite a young girl, walked by and raised her eyebrows at me. As I finished my drink he asked me for y room number. I nearly choked on my wine! I said, quite sharply, "I don't know what you think I am but I do not have dinner, have drinks or give my hotel room number to men I do not know, please don't speak to me again. The waitress, seeing me get up came over and walked with me all the way to my room. I really appreciated that. She said they didn't get a lot of people Iike that and apologised, as if it was her fault!!

Oh well, if nothing else, I know that I still have some of "it" whatever "it" is!

Zizi has pulled! Cheek of the man, what makes some men think a woman on her own must be desperate for male company?! He probably has a wife and kids at home. Grrrr! What a lovely waitress though

.OH golfing, yet again! A pro-am competition at another club today, with a meal afterwards.

I have a friend coming for lunch and a catch up. It looks to be a lovely day again.

Morning ladies , Zizi I bet he wasn't worth a second look they never are when they think they are gods gift to women silly man ,
car got to go in garage today sort the battery fault . Our day for the dog and Josh tea time so getting on with washing and a few jobs the fridge needs a clean didn't get it done before I got my shopping on Wednesday I sorted the freezer out instead . Made German tomato soup with meat balls for tea last night and went overboard with the meat balls so will freeze the extras I made for another meal, would be a shame to wast them there is at least a dozen .

Have to attend a funeral today at midday and then off to London. Night in a posh hotel, matinee tomorrow of Show Boat and a few nice meals .... back Saturday night.

Oma - have a lovely day with Josh and dog. Tea sounds delicious - I've never made meatballs! Could you share your recipe when you've got time, please?

Tizzy - you handled it very well. He must have been pretty thick-skinned not to get the first brush off though! How kind of the waitress to keep an eye on you like that.

Daisy they are ridiculously easy it's good beef mince I used Aberdeen Angus (on offer in Sainsburys) 1/2 Onion chopped finely a good pinch of salt and pepper to season 1 slice of white bread with crusts off wet it squeeze water out then mix everything together then divide into small balls or large depending on what you like I then simmer in soup for 20 mins but you can shallow fry if putting in with pasta etc the tomato soup is easy too if you would like that recipe too xx

Oma - many thanks - that sounds easy enough, even for me (not the greatest cook in the world!) and, yes, please I'd love the tomato soup recipe as well when you've got a minute. I know today's a busy day with Josh and the furry one.

Not sure where you are Nan2, but it's been very hot here today. Went to visit a friend this morning as it was her birthday and DH really caught the sun. Came home to finish planting my pots and I had to put a high factor sun screen on! Not taking any chances with the issues I have with my skin. Still very warm outside now and it's supposed to be hotter over the weekend.

Nan I have been cold all day all the flipping doors open for kitchen man, so shut myself in the tv room and watched daytime tv could get used to it
Oma will have to try that recipe but tomatoes do me no favours in the reflux area but might not be able to resist
