Plant - poor you - that must be very painful. Have they set the fracture? I know you'll be happier in your own home, but do get plenty of rest and let the family run round after you. We all feel old when something happens to us, because we know we don't bounce back quite as quickly as the youngsters. We're still young at heart but are wise enough to take recuperation seriously. I'm so glad you let us know, or we would have been wondering where you were. What a pity about your holiday, though. I hope your friend is soon home and on the mend - what a pair you are. xxxxxxxx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Plant, this isn't a very good start to the bank holiday. It's a shame you have to cancel your holiday.
Hope everyone else is feeling well .
Enjoy the bank holiday even if it is supposed to be a wash out but never mind, the papers claim that we are heading for a heatwave , and they are nerver wrong are they ?Bring me sunshine in your smile.

I think I am going home today, I could do with another couple of days, a rib injury on the left and a fracture in the right shoulder, I am pretty well dependent on the nursing staff.who are lovely lovely. I had lots of family visitors yesterday, my grandson, who is a physio in another hospital, cycled over to see me, he had a look at my scans and X-rays and took me for a little walk up the corridor. Breakfast just arrived. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant - you must have taken quite a tumble to do so much damage. Thank goodness you are being well-looked after and have had plenty of visitors. Well done to your GS for keeping a professional eye on you as well. Take care, dear. xxx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Good Bank Holiday morning, ladies. It is, of course, raining which gets me off the hook for putting weed & feed stuff on the lawn!
Zizi - I hope you find that dream kitchen at a better price. I'm sure if pushy sales people realised how much business they lost by being so in-your-face they'd calm down a bit. What a busy week you've got. As you say, so much for slowing down! Suddenly my busy week doesn't look so bad.

Good morning everyone.
Seeing Plant post on this thread has made my day happier. I gather you would prefer a day or two longer in hospital. Once you get home I'm sure you will get plenty of help, and it's good to be in your own surroundings Plant. I know you have a good family. Take it easy xx
DD1 and GS1 want to see the scarecrows in our village this morning. I am not working until 2, so they can park on our drive and I will walk round with them (in the wind )“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Morning all. Went to my unit to pick up some give always for the kids visiting site tomorrow, the big roundabout on the main road is closed due to "an incident" so had to detour coming back, good job I know the area. Of course this means that there is a lot of traffic going through our village including huge lorries. We have a lorry ban as the road is so small. It they just completely ignore it. Annoying.
Went to horrible Tesco - I so hate that place. Changing the Sainsbury delivery day last week due to holiday has caused all sorts of problems for me as in I have run out of wine - well I still have a lot of wine and fizz but it is not the glug type stuff so I had to go and get some. Plus I needed some Wonderweb as my new trousers, although allegedly of the short variety, are too long. I cannot wear skinny jeans with site boots as I look a bit like Max Wall and obviously I am not going to wear a skirt as a) I will look like Olive Oyl and b) skirts are not allowed for health and safety reasons.
So I got to Tesco and the car park was virtually empty but this Asian chap in shorts and a woman in a nightie with him parked their car in the disabled bay, no blue badge. Why? They could have got closer to the store parking in the regular spaces.
Got home to find that the washing I had put on the line this morning was on the grass, the rotary dryer pole had snapped. All laundry back in the machine for a second wash.
We have to do some work on husbands pensions this afternoon and do our vote for the police commissioner, we don't get a vote for London mayor as we are outside the zone. Then I have to do my fuel card return and do my banking transfers. Phew! I need a sit down.........If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together
