We have had a mixture of sunshine and showers today. We got some gardening done in the fine spells and had a cuppa and half a scone in the garden. We would have liked a whole scone but that was all that was left of the scones SIL made yesterday

Hallo everyone, dry here all day today. I had to laugh to myself this morning Gem when you mentioned BH's, that is the shortened name here for bra's, (bust holder), reading it fast I wondered what you meant!!

We went to aqua to discover out trainer wasn't there, the lady in charge seemed to blame him, but, we think she made the mistake, his wife gave birth to twins on Thursday and is still in the hospital, she said he phoned on Friday to say he would be in today, he wasn't so she phoned him and he said "how on earth do you think I could have said that" !! I believe that, I think she forgot to get a replacement booked. A few went in the pool and did their exercise bit, we had coffee and came home, the lady I have been going with for 10 years had cancer of the lung, had 2 operations over the years, misses half a lung etc, she goes for a scan every 6 months and they aren't pleased with what they saw on the last one, now she has to go again in 3 months for another scan, poor woman.

My neighbour has just been for coffee, she has ordered a Ninja Foodi. She got a bargain as well from Amazon.

Oma, why has your niece got a stoma? Has she Chrohns disease? She is the same age as the daughter of one of the ladies from circuit training, she was telling me about the daughter.

Lizzie, the comment about BH being the Dutch abbreviation for bra made me smile. I remembered a French friend not believing me that the English for “ soutian gorge”. (? Sp?) was ‘“bra”. She thought it was impossible that we should have such a short simple word, but I did explain it was short for “brassiere”. 😁

Gem , these Bank Holidays happening so often in May are enough to confuse anyone.

Good morning. Looks like a nice start to the day, hope it lasts.

Oma, hope there is some good news today about your niece. I can remember when she was very poorly 7 years ago.
She got through that, hopefully she will get through this.

Daisy, all hubby bought was some a box of disposable latex gloves.

Dinner is sliced potatoes and onions with corned beef, done in the slow cooker.
Easy but tasty.

Then pop to Lidl and back to B&Q , the main thing I wanted a tube of silicone I forgot yesterday.

GS rang last night he got to Rochdale and the hotel ok, they were all going out to eat.

Not sure what my plans are today, apart from having GS1 here. We usually go to the cinema at half term and there will be a film for us to see. DD wasn't sure what he would feel like doing after he was told about his guinea pig, so I haven't booked anything. We can a paint stone for her grave today if he wants. I will see how he feels once he arrives.
Fine here but I think rain is forecast. Golf for OH.

Oma, I hope there is some improvement in your niece, very worrying.

Not feeling too good, some sort of virus, sore throat and feeling achy. Hope it isn’t Covid, I have only just had a jab. GD2 has got a bad cold, perhaps I got it from her.

Oma, B would have been welcome. The smell of the dinner is making me hungry.
It will be 3 years in August when Mam died, and 3 years next January when Dad died.
How time flies.

The nice start to the day didn't last,it started raining about 9.30.

They are trying to reduce her oxygen and wake her a little , I won’t hear anything else till later but we are keeping our hopes up

Rain has eased here, but it's a dreich day!

I really despair of the NHS . On 30th May I saw a physio about a painful hip/buttock/thigh. He referred me to the MusculoSkeletal clinic and I was given a telephone appointment this morning. Phone rang 15 minutes early and I was told I was being referred for a face-to-face appointment. Next available appointment 19th July! Explained that I was in a great deal of pain, but she could find nothing earlier. My point is, they have my notes and must have been able to see that I would need a face-to-face appointment, so why couldn't I have been given one today, rather than going round the houses. I am now having to find a private physio because I can't keep taking painkillers everyday until 19th July. Even that far ahead I only had the choice of thee times! Certainly don't feel like doing my usual exercise classes in case they do more damage than good. I shall just have to hobble round the village! Grrrrr! Rant over!

Plant I hope you soon feel better. I came home from Turkey with a runny nose and it's developed into a hacking cough....sound a bit like a sealion! Not surprised as the amount of coughing on the plane and in Turkey was frightening. Thankfully, the covid test I did was negative.

Getting my new gas fire fitted at the end of the week! I'm in need of it today!

When i had pain like you describe,it was sciatica.

We both enjoyed our dinner. Both of us were hungry.
I always have some frozen yorkshire puddings in,so we had one each.
Then hubby got a slice of bread and butter.
3 lots of the dinner are going in the freezer.
