Gemini, you are being very sensible protecting your back. Have a nice time with DD and GS1

Daisy, you do a lot of cooking for company, I certainly ciuldn’t manage it now but I did used to like cooking for visitors.

I have been to a friends for coffee, I have know her for years, we are ex Brownie Guiders and she is Chairwomen of our Trefoil group. I took her some wool, she is always knitting for charity. Had a nice catch up chat and then I went to my favourite cafe for lunch. I had some really yummy Broccoli and red pepper soup. Home now and will settle in for the rest of the day.

I was not really a Beatles fan because I was married and having babies when they hit the scene.

Sounds like a nice morning, soup sounds unusual but lovely .

Ive done the little bit of ironing then I set too and did another repair on Storms toy that supposed to be dog proof ,
The one he murdered again on Saturday 🙄

Ive put a felt patch on Im hoping he won’t be able to bite through the fibres as easy but time will tell.
If it happens again no matter how much it cost it’s going in the bin.

Not only is it difficult to thread a needle now when my hands shake but my fingers don’t work like they did and my finger are stiff and painful .

The pharmacist delivered or tablets today , Two bells a wireless one and the new ring door bell ,
What did he do but knock on the door ignoring both bells 🙄😁
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, what is it that people don't ring bells! We had a postie we've never seen before and he was hammering on the glass of the door. OH opened the door (to take a parcel) and pointed out there is a bell. The bloke was really rude and said well you heard me anyway. OH politely (but probably between gritted teeth) pointed out that he was already in the hall. If he'd been in the garden or garage he wouldn't have heard the knock but would have heard the doorbell on his phone.

Plant, we've always had loads of visitors, and I 'have' to feed anyone who comes through the door! I must admit, I can't do as much as I used to though. I've made some miniature mince pies and a summer pudding this evening, plus pastry for an upside down savoury tart.

Gem, I don't think the Cavern would pass any Health and Safety criteria today! I should imagine it was quite claustrophobic too. I think OH enjoyed the gigs they did there though. But they were all very young and wanting to have fun.

Ouch, your poor back. I hope it is ok, and probably a good job you didn't have to walk so far to meet DD.

I had a very nice meal with DD and GS1 at Prezzo Italian. DD treated me too I had olives, then Chicken Alfredo and a spoonful of GS's sticky toffee pud with ice cream and of DD's cheesecake!

            Good morning.

Plant and Gem, sounds like you both had good days yesterday.

We didn't go anywhere yesterday. Oh, I tell a lie, I went to the post office. Took all of 10 minutes.

Another load of ironing to do, I washed a load of lights yesterday.

            No plans for today.

Dinner is carrot, swede and potato mash, breaded cod,veg and parsley sauce.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Oma we seem to be having more luck with our doorbell at the moment, several times in the past week visitors have used it . Admittedly, some of these visitors are family and they feel the need to ring the bell then sing and dance and pull funny faces at the camera. OH is one of these fools and he has his own key !

Nan2 and Oma I try to avoid using the iron at all costs 😁

Gem how was the Beatles experience.
We did that several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it
The coach traveled around Liverpool seeing iconic sights linked to the Beatles whilst Beatles music played in the Background. The guide was very good , obviously very passionate about his work
I didn't go to into the Cavern , wasn't sure I would like the sensation of being in what is basically a cellar/cave . We did pop into a pub on Matthew Street though. The live music was amazing.

Haven't got much planned for today apart from taking my blood pressure twice a day as requested by our 'new" Dr's practice.
We got very frustrated attempting to even as much get into a queue on the phone with our previous GP surgery. All we would get is a message stating " Our phone lines are busy , ring back later " and then we would be cut off .
So less than two weeks ago we applied to register with a little GP practice in the centre of town, unlike the one we have left which had combined 3 different GP practices in to one and all moving to one huge all singing, all dancing new building and subsequently failing patients o almost every service offered by the NHS
We are under no illusions that things will improve to the standards of years ago , given the strain the NHS is under, but in less than 2 weeks OH has had blood tests and I have had my blood pressure readings requested which were supposed to be monitored every 6 months not 12+ with previous practice.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good morning, I haven't been well since Friday, I do feel fine, but, it as though my oesophagus (gullet) is blocked. I made the mistake of looking on the internet during the night, that didn't cheer me up at all. I have phoned the surgery, as there are so many ill at the moment with flu etc they are going to phone me back later on. I can eat etc only I know it isn't right.

Mimi, our doctors etc are usually very fast, only with so many ill the surgery is full today.

My neighbour has been ill in bed with the flu a few days now, I have just been for her shed key and she does look ill. Someone is coming to see something that runs through our sheds, only, I don't think they do through mine. Will see when they arrive.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone. It's rained quite hard overnight, and is damp and dreary this morning. Still, you have to look on the bright side and OH thinks he has found out where is car is leaking. He's spent a week using the Vax cleaner and a dehumidifier to dry it out, and now it's all wet again. This is his 'real' car, not the kit car.

Dog training for me this afternoon, and baking to be done this morning, so I'd better get a move on. Last night I made miniature mince pies to have with coffee tomorrow, and a summer pudding for afters.

Lizzie, I'm so sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I hope the doctor can see you quickly, and you know what they say about Dr Google. I hope the sheds get sorted out. Your poor neighbour sounds poorly - hope she's better soon.

Mimi, I love the image of your OH dancing and singing into your doorbell! I hope your BP is under control, but your new surgery sounds much more on the ball than the old one.

Nanto, I don't know how you stand the excitement of a 10 minute outing to the Post Office. Dinner sounds perfect for the weather - can I pop round about 12.30, please?

                    Good morning ladies.

                    Pretty graphics Nan2 and Mimi

Mimi I think that is a different tour. This was more like a museum with replica Cavern within it. I would like to do the one you did.

Lizzie, I hope the Dr can reassure you and you feel better soon xx

Daisy you are such a good host!

A free day for me. I canceled my aquafit class last night (so I get a refund) and will take it easy. Mornings are the worst everything hurts a lot for a couple of hours, until painkillers kick in and my body recovers from being laid for a few hours. I am still using ice and heat on the strained muscles from the fall. It is improving but its slow. OH is painting the spare bedroom I would love to help but can't.
Tesco delivery at midday. Thankfully OH is here so I don' have to lift all the groceries.
Baby E is still not right but improving. His daddy is now poorly and took to his bed on Monday , the first time DD has ever known him to. I think they have had covid or similar.
                    .

These new doorbells sound like fun, I wonder if some people are deliberately ignoring them as they don’t want their face screened. My sil had a conversation with our neighbour when he was in a local pub and the neighbour rang the bell.

Daisy, you are going to be very busy entertaining your friends, food sounds good. Love summer pudding (what fruit are you putting in it?)

Lizzie, sorry to hear you are worried about your throat, hope the doctor is able to reassure you that it is nothing to worry about.

                        Morning everyone

                        Gem
It does sound like COVID doesn’t it , poor baby fingers crossed he improves soon.
Dont even think of picking a paint brush up, all the muscles you use to paint you can bet will be the ones you damaged,
Im sure S is happy to get on with it alone .

                        Daisy
Mini mince pies sound lovely , I’ve never had a savoury upside down tart before what are you putting in to it?

                        Lizzie
I always tell my lot not to google symptoms it only gives the worst scenarios on there ,
Hope your Dr puts your mind at ease when you see him.

Sounds a good decision to move GPs this one sound so much better.

My lot are doing the same with my doorbell 😁
B pulls funny faces then comes in and says there is some ugly bugger at the door and I agree with him 🤣🤣🤣

Been to Aldi for a few things then popped to my hairdressers , she was getting me some products from the supplier and it’s her Birthday tomorrow so took a card and flowers, was going to take Chocolates but she’s on another diet 🙄 so didn’t want to tempt her.
Going to DDs after lunch for a cupper and catch up .

Thank you, the doctor has phoned, she said to give it a few days and if it isn't any better I have an appointment on Tuesday, but, I went to the Lidl and bought the hardest walnut bread they have, very hard crusts, I thought if there was something stuck that would maybe force it through! Up to now it seems to have worked, it isn't completely clear but I can't expect it to be.

Gem, I went next door for her shed key, she opened the door and looked really bad, I have just got a message that she has managed to get a shower.

I didn't go to the circuit training, the first time since we started that I have missed! The man I get on so well with has just messaged me to ask how I am! He is the one with parkinson disease, he is only 62 years old.

Oma, Google gives you the worst news at 3am!!!! The fish pie sounds delicious!

The sun is out and at last the wind has dropped, I may have a walk to the village when my parcel has been delivered, I am doing coffee this evening, they took a photo of us on Monday for the local paper, it was published as well, I am not one for photo's!

I am seriously thinking of going for an induction plate, it would have happened with the renovation, the man told us if we still wanted to change they would provide the power cables etc as it will have to be done one day. I will phone tomorrow and see what has to be done.

It was a bit cloudy earlier, but the sun is out now.

Been washing the downstairs radiators this morning, cleaned up and done the ironing.

Going to read about Gems Beatles experience.
