Gem, I'm so glad you enjoyed your day out by the sea. It's been nice and sunny here but there are floods everywhere so no point in trying to go out. I bet you had a good appetite for that pork roast tonight.

Lizzie, it's kind of you to let the family ue your shed while their garden is being landscaped. I hope there's nothing at the back that you need.

Oma, I was thinking about your DD just a few days ago, and wondering how her 'new' job was going. I hope Lizzie's DIL enjoy her new job as much. How much notice will she have to give, Lizzie?

I love the theory of writing letters, but my writing is awful, and the more I write the worse it gets! I'd really rather type letters, but it doesn't seem quite as personal, although much more legible!

Plant, I'm sorry you have been feeling a bit out of sorts. Do you think it's just all our immune systems are a bit low at the end of a long and dreary winter? I hope you've had a relaxing day today and sleep well tonight.

I've had a pretty lazy day. Just a bit of housework this morning and a load of dog towels. This afternoon I've done some painting, done some much needed piano practice and read my book for an hour or so.

I think Eva is back to normal now - she has been playing all evening, even coaxing me into the garden to play ball with her, in the dark!

OH and DS2 got the base finished for the greenhouse. OH says their garden now looks like a mud bath!

I can imagine the mudbath garden Daisy!
We drove past the golf course on the way this morning and I could see standing water. OH is booked to play both tomorrow and Tuesday and we doubt she will be able to do either. The course needs to dry out more.

I am very proud and happy about my granddaughter but too tired to write properly about it now. I will share that tomorrow. I am in the bath now so had better get out soon before I fall asleep
      Night everyone xx

Good morning, I expect DIL will have a months notice, she is due to start the new position in April.

Don't mention what DS1 stores in my shed! I must be honest as the pay half the garage rent for me, it gives them room to store things. A good thing as I was thinking of cancelling it when it got so expensive.

I do think it is dry here after raining non-stop yesterday.

Gem, you would enjoy Filey. You were lucky with the weather as well.

Plant, I do hope that you are feeling better.

I am due to do coffee this morning, I was planning on a visit to the gym later on as there is no aqua today, but, I have a parcel being delivered so i want to be home, special fertiliser etc for the olive trees.

I am just thinking about letter writing, I used to love writing letters! My mother would write me every week, telling me all the village news etc etc, for years she would send me newspapers! No one could wrap newspapers like my mother did! She sent me the Sunday Post every week, comics for the boys and before my divorce Motor Cycle News for my ex. All this was wrapped so neatly with special wrappers and in the centre would be sweets for my boys that my father had got them! If I was out and about and met the postman he would shout and tell me that he had my post from England. When DS2 was about due there was a postal strike in the UK, we didn't have a phone at the time, I don't think my parents had either, my father was a long distance lorry driver, he would take the letters to the Hull docks to get on a boat or lorry heading for the Netherlands then it would be posted here.

Good morning Lizzie if you are still there.
          Hope your parcel arrives.

It feels colder this morning. Yesterday was lovely, had quite a bit of sunshine.

No plans apart from doing some housework.

Dinner will be fish today I think. Breaded cod with carrot, swede and potato mash, veggies and parsley sauce.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

            Good morning ladies.

            Nan2, I love the cat!

Lizzie, I love your description of the parcels your mum sent

Aqua for me this morning. The rest of the day I will take as it comes!

            Happy Monday everyone.

              Morning all.

Its been quite a Morning ,
Last night my next door neighbour text me to keep my eye out for a lost cat that had been seen around our street and she was telling me she had the worst cold she had ever had and felt Ill,

Did a COVID test it was negative but I said it could be a false reading , anyway just going out this morning and there was a Ambulance there, not sure for her or her partner who has heart failure,
I have texted her when I came back but one of their cars is gone so not sure what’s happening.

When I was at Asda yesterday I bought a new Dressing gown and we bought a new Radio,
Got home the Radio didn’t work and the dressing gown was so big it would have wrapped around two people ,

So this morning I took them both back for refunds ,
The girl on the refund counter told me the Dressing gowns had been reduced to half price this morning .
So I went and had a look and tried a one several sizes smaller that was ideal ,
I also got two pairs of PJ bottoms for only £4 the pair 😁 so I’m a happy bunny .

We then went to Sainsburys, I thought while we were there we could get MILs cigarettes save going back on Thursday morning .
All the alarms were going off , their big generator had broken down and all the freezers and chill cabinets had stopped working ,
That section was taped off and in darkness,
The girl on the cigarette counter said it was bedlam in the back , they can’t get a engineer for at least 24 hours ,
There is staff everywhere trying to move stuff and mop up where the freezers have started to defrost .
Quite a insurance bill I expect.

We are taking Lucie and GS out for tea today so just a light lunch for us

Pleased Eva is back to her old self ,
I can imagine the mud but once it’s all done it can be restored to new ,
Like you I would love to be able to write a letter but my handwriting is very poor now , even writing cards is a difficulty,

                Lizzie
Going half’s on the garage rent is a big help and serves both your needs ,
Hope your parcel arrives soon so your not hanging about .
Bs Grandmother used to send German papers to MIL wrapped in brown paper and tied with string , those were the days 😁

                Gem
Hope you have a nice Aqua session will you stay for coffee after?
Poor S the golf courses are waterlogged everywhere by the sounds of it .

                Plant
How are you feeling today ?
I hope you slept better , is it today your coming home . Maybe you need your own bed and a day of rest then enjoy your new summer house xx

                Nanto
                Love the cat 😁
Enjoy your day don’t do too much for a change x

Good Monday morning, everyone. It's dry but colder here.

Plant, I hope you're feeling better and can take it easy today - you've had a lot of things going on just lately.

Gem, my GD1 was telling me the other day that one of her friends has drowned two phones by trying to use them in the bath! . I hope you slept well after all that fresh air, and enjoy aqua. I bet your GD has danced into school this morning after such an unforgettable day.

Lizzie, how lovely your postman was to notice your parcels and letters from England. Your mam and dad must have missed you very much when you moved to the Netherlands. Travel and communication s were much harder then.

Oma, your shopping yesterday might have been an epic fail, but you got some bargains today. But what a lot of drama in 24 hours - lost cat, house alarm going off, a poorly neighbour and chaos in Sainsburys. I hope your neighbour is ok.

We thought Eva was better last night, but I went to the bathroom about 5 am, and she was clearly asking to go out. Her tummy definitely isn't right yet - it sounded like a small detonator going off behind the bushes! And she was also a bit sick in the guest bedroom again. She not keen to eat at the moment, but she had a little yoghurt and the rest of the fish.

We've got the heating engineer here this morning - I'll put it on a separate thread.

Poor Eva I wonder what’s causing it ,
Has she ate something on her walk do you think that you haven’t noticed ?

My Neighbour is ok she had called 111 and they sent a ambulance,
Checked her over and put her on a nebuliser for a while then rang her Dr to prescribe Antibiotics,
Dr sent them urgent to the Chemist who delivered them within the hour , in the mean time Ambulance people gave her fluids and other stuff .
Shes going to try and sleep but the hacking cough isn’t helping with rest poor woman.

Flipping heck, I should have been meeting 2 friends for lunch today! One of them phoned to see where I was! By that time I had my lunch , my hair was wet , I was in comfy stay-at-home clothes, and as one of them had to be away by 1.30 it wasn't worth going over. Gutted! At least I wasn't leaving one friend alone

Poor Eva, something is obviously upsetting her tummy Daisy.

No coffee today Oma. One of my friends only does the Wednesday morning class and the other was shooting off somewhere (as I should have been it turns out!!)
Really good aquafit class, a good start to the week. I went to M&S foodhall afterwards as I park near there.

Well I am back in my own abode, GD, H and her OH arrived shortly after, GD needed to use my washing machine. We went to our local cafe for a sandwich lunch. DD and Sil back now, at least we had put their heating on and H was pleased to see them. I have managed to leave my electric toothbrush and paste at DS at least it isn’t far to go and fetch them. I was thoroughly spoilt but it is nice to be home. WI in morning, cleaner is coming in the afternoon. I am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight.

Gemini, sorry you missed a meet up but you are such a busy lady.

Daisy, I hope whatever is upsetting Eva clears up soon.

Oma, At least in the end you got some bargains. I wonder what caused the power failure in the supermarket.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant if anything is not written in my diary it doesn't happen! I neglected to note the day we had arranged for today's lunch. We arrange things on a WhatsApp group, but I didn't check back on there.
Nice to be back in your own bed, I hope you sleep well tonight.

Just phoned DD as GS said Storm was poorly ,
She had him to the vets this morning as he was being sick and crying ,
Vet gave him a pain killing injection and anti sickness one and a short course of antibiotics,
Said there is loads of sickness bugs with dogs at the moment.

Daisy I wonder if it’s the same thing Eva has,

Storm isn’t wanting to eat yet but vet said to just give plain food like fish or chicken for the next few days when he’s ready to eat ,
