    Good Thursday morning, everyone.

It's damp but quiet here - not sure what the day's weather holds to us, but I'm relieved it's not so cold.

Gem, I hope the plumber can get your leak fixed today, and hopefully without having to dismantle any more of the house. S is brilliant, isn't she.

Plant, you're in my thoughts today - I hope it all goes smoothly after all the earlier confusion. Take care. xx

Nanto, how lovely to have so many unexpected visitors. Love the cheery graphic - thank you.

Mimi, it sounds as though you had worse weather than us. Fence posts coming down are a nuisance, but at least there was no serious damage.

I've got a day at home today, so I'll try to get a few jobs done round the house.

The leak has been found! Under the wardrobe. When the pipes were originally fitted someone had bent nails over a water pipe to hold it in place! 60 years down the line, this is the result!
The pipe is imperial size and our plumber doesn't have any the right dimension so he's off hunting for new ones now.

        Morning everyone

Itd dank and dreary here again,
Been to MILs , she quite cheerful moaned a little but not much , so a nice visit.

        Gem
So pleased the leak was found but what a awkward place to be in ,
Hope the plumber finds the right pipe fitting and you don’t need more floor boards up .

        Daisy
Eva is like storm has to sniff everything about another dog , DD took him to a friends house , he sniffed her dogs bed then rolled it to put his mark on I assume 😁

        Mimi
These cold are not going are they, my sister is the same as your husband, and the cough is persistent .

        Nanto
Lovely to get unexpected guest and have time to sit drink tea eat cake and chat 😁

Dentist managed to fix Bs tooth and do a filling on another but how long it lasts is another thing .
They not in great shape now .
I think get them out get dentures it would be cheaper and less stress in the long term as he’s scared of Dentists anyway.

Hope Plant is ok and the procedure is done early .

Both myself and DD have our hair cuts at 4 so DD is picking me up at 3.30 .

          Hope Plant is ok.

          Been a quieter day today.

Yesterday i cooked mince and onions in the slow cooker.
Today i have made some pies for the freezer, pastry pies not cottage pies.

Oma, hope B's tooth lasts for a while.

I am back, no problems apart from Diverticular pockets and BP a bit high, No explanation for the bleed. Feeling a bit tired now.

I'm relieved to hear that Plant!

As Lizzie says, rest now xxx

The plumber finished early afternoon. Heating and hot water are restored! We are leaving the floorboard up for a while to allow air to circulate to fully dry everything out. It's drying out well already. There doesn't appear to be any damage to the dining room ceiling. The water travelled 4 to 5 feet from the leaking pipe to the light fitting where it eventually came through!

We dropped P's card off but no one in so no cup of tea for us!

Plant, I'm so glad you're home safe and sound, and and it's all over. No wonder you are tired, though, and I'm sure your GD1 will make sure you get all the rest you need. Sending hugs. xx

Oma, poor B with his dental problems. Dentures re so much better these days than they used to be, so perhaps it would be less stressful and less painful for him. How does he feel about that? I bet you and your DD look very smart with your new hair colours.

Gem, you must be relieved to have the leak fixed and everything is drying out. It's so scary when water runs down a light fitting.

Nanto, every time you mention pies with pastry I fancy one. It's ages since I made any though.

I seem to have spent a lot of time on the phone today, but we did steam clean the kitchen floor. I didn't even take Eva out - it was dull and drizzly and she seemed tired from training yesterday.

Tomorrow morning OH and DS2 are going to dismantle a greenhouse they've got off Freecycle so I'll take Eva over to spend some time with Cooper. They only have to stack it against the wall of the house, and a man and a van are going to take it over to DS2's next week sometime. Then they'll have the job of putting it all back together again! DS2 has to move some raised beds first to make room for it.

                      It's cold, windy and raining.

Plant, glad you are OK. Take care.

Gem, pleased heating and hot water is restored.

Yesterday we had a visit from hubby's brother, the one that moved to near us. Nice to see him on his own. If his wife is there, she takes over. It doesn't matter what you talk about, she knows more about it than anyone. Poor bil sits there not saying a word.

Daisy, hope the greenhouse dismantling goes well.
Sorry to mention pies again, but we are having a steak and onion pie today. I made 4 for the freezer a couple of weeks ago.
Will have mash, veg and gravy with the pie.

                        Good morning everyone.
                        Sunny and only breezy here.

How are you feeling this morning Plant?

Daisy, although scary indeed to have water pouring through the light fitting we are glad it did! It had travelled some distance to reach that , and but for that the ceiling would eventually have come through

Nan2 we had chicken and mushroom pie with mash and veg the other night and very nice it was. Salmon for us tonight.

                        Your hair sounds nice Oma.

Last night I came downstairs for some Gaviscon as I had a bit of indigestion. I somehow managed to trip over a small roll of carpet in the kitchen which was waiting to be taken outside. I fell flat on the hard tiled floor. Nothing broken but it's a shock and I feel very sore with pulled muscles. I have asked OH to drive me to collect GS2 from school this afternoon as I'm not confident I would be OK to drive all that way.

Is anyone else watching The Traitors? I cant wait for the final tonight

Slept like a log, no sign of GD and H yet. Nice to think I can eat anything I like now test is over. apparently I have a heart murmur. Not sure what we will do today but I feel we need to do something for H as yesterday was taken up with my needs. Had a visit from GS4 and his partner yesterday evening checking on me, DS and Dil are on holiday so I expect they asked them to check up on me. Lovely to see them.

Gemini, pleased to hear you have the leak fixed and things are drying out and you now have hot water. Are you child minding or collecting today.

Daisy, that dog of yours certainly lets you know her wishes, I expect she was too tired for a walk. Good luck with that greenhouse dismantling

Nanto nice to see your B-in-Law on his own if his wife takes over.

Oma, we must have a picture of your new hair colour. Pleased to hear Mil was in a reasonably good mood.

Glad to hear your slept well. GS2 from school this afternoon. We missed the baby E day this week as it should have been yesterday, plumbing upheaval day!

                              Good Friday morning, everyone.

Nanto, it's lovely to hear about your pies - they're such tasty comfort food, and I always like to hear what you've got on the menu. I'm sure your BIL also enjoyed his solo visit.

Gem, poor you, falling on the hard kitchen floor like that. Is your new knee ok? Would a nice warm bath help to ease your aching muscles? I'm glad S can drive you to do the school pick up this afternoon. I know what you mean about water finding the light, the thought of the ceiling collapsing is horrifying.

I haven't watched the Traitors, but it does sound fascinating. Have you got a good idea who the traitor is?

Plant, I'm sure you were very tired after yesterday, so a good night's sleep was just what you needed. How kind of GS4 to pop in and check up on you. Have a lovely day today with GD and H - but don't overdo things! When are DD and SIL back from Spain?

It's nice and sunny here, thank goodness with OH and DS2 dismantling the greenhouse. Handling glass in the rain sounds scary. DS2 thinks they'll get it done easily today - 2 or 3 hours work. OH thinks it might be a week-end long job. I'm going over to DS2's later, with Eva, to spend some time with Cooper. He's ok being left, but he and Eva are good company for each other, and as he still won't get in the car it's difficult for him to come here. I'll take my Kindle and my knitting and relax.

Sainsbury's turned up nearly 30 minutes early today! OH was still in the bathroom and I hadn't had time to check what was missing, substituted or short dated! Grrr....

Daisy viewers always know who the Traitors are, it's the other players the Faithfuls who don't!

I'm going to have nice warm bath this morning. My knee is OK I think, my thigh on that side is very sore so must have taken a lot of the fall. My left arm and right neck/chest area are sore too. I was heading for the cupboard we keep meds in and just didn't notice the carpet.

30 early minutes is far too much for a delivery unless they phone to check first.
