We have groups of (mostly) ladies who regularly swim in the estuary here. They call themselves The Bluetits for obvious reasons! DD2’s husband also swims in every kind of weather. Certainly not for me!
We went to the new M&S in Lakeside today. OH was in 7th heaven. He had great trouble tearing himself away from the food department without purchasing loads of unnecessary items.
    Stay warm ladies.

Open swimming wouldn't be my cup of tea. Not fond of being in water anyway.

Talking of dodgy knees,a friend of ours has had a knew knee done today.

GM, i watched the series on tv about the new M&S in Lakeside.

      Been bitterly cold here today.

I would love to feel I could actually throw myself into wild, open water no matter how cold it was. But we all have dreams, don't we! I know I couldn't really do it. A moderately warm indoor pool is about as cold as I can stand, and changing rooms always feel freezing to me. Wee Granny, your DD is a very brave lady!

Swimming in a warm sea is ideal though, plus I like it to be warm enough to lie on the beach to dry off.

Grauntie, you'll be living the high life if OH stocked up on goodies from M&S at Lakeside.

Enfys, I love your Kingfisher avatar. They're such beautiful and clever birds, but really hard to photograph! It seems a bit of a con having to have a smart meter if you don't really want one.

Mimi, well done to your GS. It will be exciting watching him on the tour.

Eva was a proper airhead at training today. There were only two dogs, and they don't have any issues with each other, so they were off lead most of the time and played lots of games. It's all change next week when everyone will be back, plus a new dog just promoted from the beginners class, so it will be lots of heel work, on leads and making the new boy feel at home.

By heck its another very cold morning.

No cooking today, hubby is going with bro in law, car shopping, its bro in law that wants another car, not hubby. They will get. something to eat while they are out. I'll probably have a cheese omelette.

Going to change the bedding and clean upstairs. The bathroom was done yesterday, so will only need a quick tidy when we have been showered.

Shopping being delivered between 9 and 10.

          Awww bless Eva.

              Good morning ladies .

Daisy I bet Eva wondered where all the other dogs were.

I like omelettes too Nan2 and Oma. OH makes better ones than I do, so I let her make them!

Baby GS3 day. They will be here any time so I will catch up later!

Feeling quite tidy in the hair department now. Friend came for a coffee, just gone. Board Games this afternoon, village Care is supposed to be delivering me a tea today, not sure what time it is being delivered.

Lizzie, why is your pool so cold, I wouldn’t be able to get in there. Take care on your bike in those icy conditions.

Gemini, mixed showers, no stripping off there then.

Oma, Glamm only had the cat, her dog died a little while ago. Your poor niece having to wait so long for surgery. Keep wrapped up and warm.

Daisy, feeling a bit light headed after the hair cut. I hope Eva enjoys her training this afternoon, good idea to keep her wound covered.

Wrote this yesterday, must have been interrupted as I didn’t post it

Good morning, still very cold and icy, I have just been reading all the complaints of the cycle paths not being salted, they are very dangerous in parts.

I have just changed the tap in the shower room, I placed a thermostat one when the girls were young, 14 years ago in fact, the last few days there was a leak and I couldn't figure it out, I tightened all I could but still leaking, I asked a neighbour to look and he thought it was the shower head, it got me thinking after he had gone, how did the water get into the shower head in the first place? With a little help from Google I read that those taps last 10 to 15 years, so, that was it. You can get them repaired and cleaned, that costs more than a new one. As it happened I had one in the cupboard, the washers were dried out so I went this morning and get new ones so all is working again, I could always buy another thermostat but it was more for the girls than for myself, the water is so hot and I was scared they would touch the tap if they were alone in the shower.

Gem B makes a nice omelette, I don’t eat a lot of eggs it’s the white of eggs they give me sort of a tickle in the back of my throat but I’m fine with it beaten together with the yolk , GS is the same 😁

Lizzie well done with changing the tap , Mr Google is amazing 😁

Plant did they phone before you went out ?

Been to MILs she was quite cheerful, took her 6 meals so she has no need to go out if she doesn’t want too,
B has just gone for a blood test and to get his Shingles Jab ,
Im about to have a look what we can have for lunch then I want to go to Icelands after lunch .

Oma, no they still haven’t phoned, what a waste of DD’s morning, she was trying to contact them, no luck. At least I have had my injection for my bones, DD took me in case the roads were icy. Pleased to hear Mil was in a cheerful mood, makes the visit so much more pleasant.

Goodness Lizzie, is there anything you will not tackle.

I love a cheese omelette Nanto.

Plant, I can do a lot, but, nothing (anymore) that involves me kneeling.

Hubby and Co are their way home. It sounds like bro in law has seen a car that he really likes.

Shopping came early, it was here for 8.40.

Changed the bedding and washed it, I'm just about to get it off line. Dried lovely in the sun and breeze. Bedrooms have been cleaned.

Ds1 here, doing an oil change on GD2 car.

It seems to have been a busy day so far here, so I've only just sat down to say 'hello'. I got ready to go with OH to look at a couple of greenhouses on Freecycle (for DS2 who has got into growing vegs in a big way in the last 2 years). Then the phone rang, and a couple of urgent messages, more phone calls - so he went on his own. The first one he saw was exactly like my old one, but in very poor condition with several broken panes. The second one was very dirty but otherwise in quite good condition, so DS2 is going to have that one. It's also much nearer to where they live.

I had a chat with DS1 to see how he's getting on with physio. Gem, I used you as a example of how following instructions to the letter helps recovery even though it's a different reason.

I dug the Nutri Bullet out of the back of a cupboard and juiced a load of fruit - mainly oranges and kiwi fruit. I hadn't used it for a while and had forgotten how much I like fresh home-made juice.

This dry very cold weather exhausts me. I could do with a nap!

A busy day indeed Daisy, did you manage a nap? Physio is hard when it hurts and you're tired but I tried to remember they are trying to help not torture us! I'm sure your DS will work hard to recover.

Plant how annoying that the Dr didn't phone .

It snowed again later this morning, but not for long, just a covering which was gone as soon as it came.
Baby was back on form. Happy all day, eating LOT'S and had a 2 and a half hour nap this afternoon. He walked upstairs very well for me, and fortunately OH was back before he woke, so I didn't have to carry him up or downstairs this week.
OH survived the very cold golf course!
