Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.
      Lovely tulips Nan2.

Yet more rain overnight and it is drizzling now. Raincoats will be packed!

Check in time is from 4 so we are not in any hurry. We will probably stop for lunch on the way. We have a meal out booked tonight. I must check what time I booked it for!

      Happy Friday everyone.

OH has the bigger newer car and is the more experienced driver so she does Plant! I am only licenced to drive automatic and OH's is manual so I can't drive that.

Are these bloods a routine or something else? Hope they don’t take too long xx

We have been to MILs ,
Se wasn’t too bad this morning quite chatty.
had to go early as B forgot it’s the yearly meet up with Army pals this morning ,
He is picking his cousin up who was in his regiment at 11, there’s usually about 30 of them but sadly A few have passed away since last year

So I will have a quiet afternoon ,
I will get on with some jobs , my iron needs descaling it’s one of those big tank affairs, I’ve had it almost 20 years it’s brilliant but a pain to descale,
B keeps saying get a more modern one that self cleans, but I love this iron and until it gives up the ghost I’m keeping it.

It’s a lovely dry bright day and not so cold ,
Makes a huge change from the last few weeks 😁

Good morning, dull here compared to yesterday.

              Have a good weekend Gem.

              Oma. enjoy de-scaling the iron.

The tulips could come from here Nanto!

I have been to do the coffee, left a young team making 150 pancakes, it is NL does, any one can volunteer to do all kind of tasks, these young ones are from a computer firm, the (young) director was busy doing the pancakes as I left. They plan on making 150 before 12am.

The high tea I am going to later is the same idea, all people volunteering. It is very popular here for 2 days, even the King and Queen will be out helping, I heard the old queen Beatrix as well.

                Good Friday morning, everyone.

Nanto, aren't tulips a glorious sight. It's one of the flowers I love to see growing outside, but also love as cut flowers in the house.

Gem, safe journey and enjoy your week-end, especially your meet-up with the Omas.

Oma, your MIL seems to be getting more cheerful. Let's hope it lasts. I hope B has a good get together with his Army mates. It must be sad though that there are some no longer with them. I can imagine they have a close bond and have gone through a lot together.

Lizzie, what a lovely idea the two days of volunteering is. It seems the whole country pulls together when even the Royal Family join in. Who will eat all the pancakes? Enjoy your high tea later on.

We had rain overnight, and it's stopped now, but everywhere is wet. For a change. I really will try and get the windows done today!

Lizzie, I remember making pancakes for the fun day at my DS's school when we lived there! Not the thin English ones, but proper Dutch ones! I didn't want to see another pancake by the time I'd finished! It was a great day with lots of activities taking place. Nothing beats a proper Dutch pancake though, there used to be a fantastic place in Delft
we used to go for lunch.

Just had the most torrential downpours and now the sun is shining! Very strange weather!

Hope everyone is managing to stay dry! x

All this talk of pancakes is making me hungry,
When we used to go to his aunties in Germany she made wonderful pancakes with Apfelmus (apple sauce) and cinnamon
                      Lizzie
Will you have them at the high tea ? Or is it just today they serve them like our pancake day?

                      Daisy
Her good mood won’t last but it’s nice when it is good makes for a better visit,

The weather has been atrocious here for weeks ,
Today for the first time in ages we have glorious sun shine and it’s not too cold that’s a bonus.

Ive been on my bum and hand washed kitchen -Dinning room-utility -loo and hall way floors ,
Took me ages Im not as nimble as I was ,
When I finished in the hall way I had to get myself on the stairs they hoist myself up hanging onto the chair lift.

I thought to myself you silly old Bu**er why do these things? But it seemed like a good idea when I started 😱🤣🤣

Oma, at least the floors are done now.
You on the floor, me on the steps.
I've cleaned the frudge inside and out,but have to use the stepladder to reach the top.

Daisy, i love tulips,we have them in the garden, but i won't cut them, i do buy them though.

Gem, hope you had a good journey.

Weather been fairly bright today, one very very light shower about 12ish,lasted about 10 seconds.

We always have pancakes in the freezer. The thin ones otherwise known as crepes.

Oma, I don't this we have an official pancake day, the Dutch eat them any days!! We had a very nice high tea, enough to eat and enjoyed the company.

The sun has been shining all day, I even walked to the hall with just a short jacket on. Well, I put that wrong, I did have a dress and boots under the jacket.

Oma, I can understand you asking yourself why you do it!!! Shuffling along to clean the floors!

As you know I go to the gym, I have never used the rowing machine as it is quite low, we have it in our circuit training this month, with the help of the instructor I got to using it, I enjoyed it so asked who would be there yesterday morning to keep an eye on me? The young man did keep an eye on me, all went well, he forgot to tell me not to do it too long for the first time, the muscles near my shoulder blades, oh dear, I woke this morning feeling very sore, I was telling a young lady that works there, she said to build it up each time, everyone has the same muscle pain the first few times! I will learn one day!

Safely arrived, unpacked and had a cuppa! Oma it is the cottage where OH made the tarragon chicken. We will get ready to go out for tea in a while. The pub is only 10 to 15 minutes drive.

I'm glad you enjoyed the tea Lizzie, but Ouch about the muscles!

Oma, the things we have to do as we get older!
