Those ring doorbells are amazing Mimi. My Sil was out in a pub eating when a neighbour rang the bell. Sil was able to see and talk to the neighbour on his phone.

Attempted to go for a short walk but had to turn back as stupid hip was protesting too much .
I have now ordered a walking stick but I'm going into this stage in life Kicking and screaming all the way !
The one I have chosen is purple floral design, adjustable and foldable with handle designed for arthritic hands !
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi
Nothing wrong with a walking aid , much better than falling over ,
My B has used two crutches since he was a young man ,
We have been thinking about a ring doorbell, DD has one and loves it ,
In fact it solved a dispute with Amazon , they said they had delivered a parcel when they hadn’t ,
They were adamant they had till she said she had video evidence on her ring doorbell ,
Then suddenly they decided they had it wrong and the parcel arrived a hour later already opened.
It was only Towels but that wasn’t the point so it saved a fight with Amazon.
Happy new year Enfys it’s good to hear from you xxxIm not fat just 6ft too small

Mimi that sounds like the folding walking stick I used before my op. My flowers are blue though
Plant those doorbells are amazing aren't they? Two of my DDs have them .
I'm glad your family will take care of you when you have the colonoscopy. I haven't had one but friends who have say the prep is the worst bit ( having to stay close to the loo) they found the procedure itself not bad .
Lovely to hear from you Enfys. I'm glad you had a good Christmas.
Poor GS2 has the bugCaught from me on Friday when I had no symptoms. He has been sick 5 times. GD ( with the vomitting phobia) was fairly hysterical about it but has calmed down and is staying in her room. I think we are going to have to have a word with DD and SIL3 about sending the baby when he has been sick the night before, as the effects are going through the family.
We are having a PJ day. OH is doing her jigsaw and I am catching up with The Archers on Alexa.

Oma, i think snow is forecast for us as well. You usually get it before us.
Its been a nice day though today. I washed 2 of our coats and they only needed airing when i brought them in.
Plant, pleased there will be someone to look after you when you have to go to hospital.
Gem, illness can got through families like wildfire. Glad you are both better.
Mimi, walking stick sound very snazzy. You might feel safer with it.
This morning i made 4 steak and onion pies,2 cartons of mash and 2 cartons of cheesy mash.
When i did the dinner i made extra roast potatoes. All in the freezer. Handy for whenever i'm pushed for time.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Plant I had a colonoscopy several years ago and Gemini is right, the prep isn't much fun, you can't be too far from a toilet!
The procedure wasn't as bad as you would imagine, the nurses are wonderful, they put you at ease . It was the bloated tummy afterwards which I wasn't warned about, I couldn't button up my trousers so I would advise that you wear an elasticated waist trousers or skirt on the day
Gem hope your family are feeling better soon.
We've had no snow here but it's very coldBring me sunshine in your smile.

Just to say "hello". I haven't had the concentration or energy to read back over all your posts today, and the sad news about Glamm is weighing heavily. I keep thinking about how much she enjoyed her trip to Birmingham in September, and how she was hoping to meet the Northern lasses before Christmas (although I know that didn't actually happen for several reasons).
We are back home now. We had both cars up at GS1's so we travelled home separately and I went to pick up Eva while OH brought all our stuff home, put the heating on. lit the fire and made a late lunch! Eva's injury is looking much, much better and she's pleased to be home. She's been playing most of the evening - I thought she'd be too tired!

Good morning.
Glad you arrived home safely Daisy.
It feels a lot colder this morning, I think there is a bit of frost.
Not much happening here today.
Dinner is chips, beans, egg and the meat that's left from yesterday.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning everyone.
Nan2 we had frost the last couple of mornings. It feels cold this morning so I expected to see it again but no!
Daisy, welcome home.
It is hard remembering how recently we were with Glamma in Birmingham I agree. A happy memory though. We had planned to move our pre Christmas York meeting to early this year. We were going to plan it once Glamma felt better.
No plans today. Monday is officially the weekday we are both free but in reality it rarely works out that way! It has today. We will see what the day brings.
Poor little GS2 was sick 5 times yesterday. I hope he is feeling much better this morning.
Keep warm and well ladies.

Moaning!
I feel very coldy this morning. I’ts my own fault, I have eaten food with cheese in and I know this is the result. Sometimes the craving for something I can’t have overtakes me and I have to have it….😬 No will power where food is concerned. A brisk walk with the dog is what is called for, and it’s sunny here!
Plant, take your book with you to the loo when doing the prep. The chances are as soon as you stand up you will have to sit down again!
Nanto2, you make my mouth water so. Your food sounds so delicious. It’s OH’s turn to make dinner tonight, flan and salad. He makes a mean salad!
Cards with the ladies this afternoon, always good fun.
Have a good day all.

Good Monday morning, everyone.
Nanto, having a quiet day can be just the thing sometimes. Dinner sounds great for a cold day.
Gem, Poor little GS2. I hope he's ok today and is over the worst of the bug. It has certainly done the rounds of your family. I hope you get your quiet day and you can both relax.
Oma, it sounds as though you will need a nanna nap after such a bad night. Take care and don't overdo things.
It is good to be home, although I was pleased we could do a bit to help DS and DIL last week. An unexpected bonus was being able to spend more time with both GSs. GS1 was out at work all day, but would come bouncing in and tell me about his day. DS2 worked from home so was around for lunch and an odd coffee break. We had chance to play some music together which was great.
No plans for me today, except for a huge pile of washing. How can we have so much in just one week! I've also got some emails etc to catch up with. Eva slept on our bed last night - and she's full of beans this morning! She gave my dressing gown a good sniffing and gave me a funny look! I'd thrown it on the bed at DS's and Bailey had snuggled onto it! I think she's pleased to be home.
Take care everyone if you've got ice or snow. It's bright and sunny here but very cold.

Gem, and Grauntie - our posts all crossed.
Grauntie, will power is elusive if you really fancy something. I hope you feel ok soon, and I'm sure the dog will enjoy the brisk walk. Oooh, I love a good salad. What does OH put in his? Enjoy your cards - poker for high stakes?
Gem, it's fantastic that your GD has coped so well with GS2 being poorly. Well done to her. xx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
