Lizzie, good luck to your GD2 for a job at the local supermarket. I can never decide whether it's better for youngsters to do some paid work or not. On one hand their childhood is so fleeting these days, with all sorts of pressures to 'grow up', and they need to enjoy just being youngsters. On the other hand, having a little job teaches them all sorts of skills such as time-keeping, organisation, responsibility, taking instructions, and so much more. I'm sue your GD2 will enjoy working with children.

Oma, those fish fingers sound poisonous! Yuk! No, DS1 doesn't mind waiting to finish the job, but as we were there OH would have liked to have finished it off there and then.

Gem, that massage must have made a big difference. Take care lifting suitcases etc. It's all to easy to forget. I hope you all get a few hours selep. Safe journey tomorrow and happy holidays to all the family.

We ended today with a glass or two of wine in the garden. It was very pleasant in the sun.

            Good Tuesday morning, everyone.

Gem, have a safe and pleasant journey. You must be in 'holiday mode' now. xx

Nanto, how nice to have a bright day. Breaded chicken and salad sounds lovely. I think our weather is going to be more like your watery graphic.

Oma, enjoy your day out. Bamburgh Castle is on my bucket list! Treat yourselves to something nice from the lovely farm shop.

We're getting ready for holidays! OH needs some new trainers, so he'd going to pop down to Lymington this morning while I give the kitchen a good clean up. He will steam for floor when he gets back. An old college friend is coming this afternoon. She no longer lives locally so we don't see each other as much as we'd like. It will be great to see her. I'm doing pork meatballs in a tomato sauce with sweet potato mash and veggies for dinner.

Hallo, you should be settled in by now Gem!

You do some travelling for the farm food Oma. When in the Uk last year my brother and his wife took me to a farm shop for lunch, it was really good, busy as well.

Daisy. I think it is good for the children to earn some money themselves, they then have more idea of what everything costs, they do enjoy life as well, to the full, they have plenty of time for that!

I have been to visit my friends in the penthouse, it was very windy up there today. At least it is dry. I want to go on the bike to a second hand place.

As an after thought, have you read about that poor man that spent 17 years in jail for a rape that he never committed ? Unbelievable!!

Gemini, I think you will have arrived and settled in your holiday home, hope the sun is shining.

Daisy, you always seem to be cooking for guests. when are you off on your holiday with GD’s?

I have been to a National Trust group coffee morning, lovely cakes. I had a pre-cancerous growth on my hand some yers ago, they are still checking every year that I don’t have any more so tomorrow I have a 9.30 appt. I do hope this is the last one as it is quite a drive and the parking is dreadful, my DS takes me.

There seems to be a north/south divide as far as the weather is concerned. We are having a cold drizzly day.

Oma, I saw a programme about Bamburgh Castle some time ago, it looks well worth a visit. I wish we had a farm shop near to us, not sure where our nearest one is.

DD, Sil, GD2 and her partner are safely back from their trip, resting after their long journey.

We ended up going to Barnard Castle instead but still went to Mainsgill as we had to pass it to get to Barnard Castle ,
The camels were in the field but didn’t fancy getting up they just laid soaking up the sun 😁

Bought a few bits , this isn’t our usual farm shop it’s too far away but we like to go at Christmas and maybe a couple times in the summer,
Our usual Farm shop is not far from us about 10 minutes drive , it’s at the bottom of our local land mark Penshaw Monument
We actually lived the other side of the monument when our DD was little , my sister still lives there.

Had lunch in Barnard castle and a stroll around the shops , made a nice change.

Daisy, hope you had a good catch up with your friend.
We only had 2 visitors today.

Plant, hope your appointment goes well tomorrow.

We've had wall to wall sunshine all day.
Was perfect for getting the gardening done.

                        Hello everyone.

Our flight was uneventful, in fact we landed early! After an initial hard time GD relaxed and was ok.
Our villa is lovely and the older 3 GC have been in the pool for most of the afternoon, especially the boys. Baby will try it tomorrow! He loved watching the others today .
We had dinner out on the balcony and are still here.
I will catch up tomorrow. Night all xx

Glad you all arrived safely. Kids love a pool don't they.

                          Sun is shining here.

Today we are doing the socialising. We are going to hubby's sister and hubby. It will make a nice change. We haven't seen them for nearly two weeks.
It will probably be a late dinner. Hubby says we'll bung a pizza in or call for some fish and chips on the way home.

                          Have a good day ladies.

                            Nan2, happy socialising!

That sounds a lovely day Oma.

The children will love the pool and it will be relaxing for GD too.
I bet baby is delighted with all the attention,
Have you been in the pool yet ?

Nice to be the one waited on for a change , tea being made for you rather than other way around .
Calling in for fish & chips sounds just the ticket.

Our tea will be liver and onions with mash and broccoli,

                              Daisy

That poor man 17 years of his life lost then they were going to try and charge him for board and lodgings,
What a disgrace, at least they came to their senses over that.
He will get compensation at some point but it could take years and that won’t give him his youth back and everything he has missed will it.

GD will enjoy earning a little pocket money as long as they don’t take advantage of her,
My GS washed glasses in a pub at that age 😁

Flat sale has gone through , DD going on Saturday to see what needs doing then we all going down on 21st to sort it out .

Dog day today so not going anywhere.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone. It looks like another dull, overcast day for us.

Nanto, enjoy your day of socialising. It's lovely to have someone else make the tea and coffee and hand round the cakes.

Gem, your holiday home sounds lovely, and I'm sure the pool will keep the youngsters very happy. So glad GD has made it there - I do hope she has a great time.

Oma, good news about the flat. Is it near to the Uni? I bet GS is very excited and the whole family will enjoy doing bits and pieces to make it homely for him. I love liver and onions! Tell Storm, Eva's favourite treats are slow-cooked lamb's liver chopped up and frozen.

Our usual Wednesday today. OH and two friends are working on the kit car. I keep out of the way, and then it's dog training this afternoon. It was so good to see my friend last night. We always have lots to talk about and our neighbour joined us for dinner. The pork and pepper meatballs seemed to go down well.

We go on holiday next Monday, 14th, but need to get the caravan packed and ready on Saturday because we're out all day on Sunday. Not the best timing for a day out, but it was booked months ago.
