We’ve been away and I’ve only just seen this.
Sending deep sympathy Gemini, but you will be comforted by knowing that your Mum’s life ended peacefully and that she was loved and cared for right to the end. She certainly couldn’t have asked for a better or more loving daughter.
These early days are the hardest no matter how expected her death was. Your dear daughters and their families will help you through the coming weeks and your other ‘family’ on here will, as you know, always be here for you. X

Good morning everyone.
Nan2, your graphics brighten our days so please carry on with them, but thank you xx
Sum1, thank you for your kind words. I hope you had a lovely holiday.
Todays plans were reflexology for me this morning and a visit to mum this afternoon. Although I need the reflexology for my sciatica I don't feel up to it today. A lot of official things to do regarding mum as it is now Monday.
I hope Plant is having a lovely time, Oma is OK and everyone else is well.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning, everyone. We've had frost overnight, not a lot but enough to show on the lawn.
I need to get on with jobs around the house today, and perhaps some cooking ready for guests. DS1 and DIL are coming down on Wednesday and staying overnight, their German friends arrive on Thursday, and with a big family gathering on Easter Monday I have plenty to keep me busy. I really didn't need my desktop computer to go wrong this morning, but it has!
Gem, you're in my thoughts. Sending love. xxx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Spent a couple of hours in St. Ives, quite crowded but not as bad as in the summer months. DS and I came back by car, GS and Dil are walking back on the costal path. This should have been posted yesterday.
Sum, I enjoyed the pictures of the wild flowers you posted.
Daisy, busy time for you, have a lovely family and friends time.
We have such a lovely view we seem slow and almost reluctant to go out. I think Dil, who is so energetic is getting restless so we are going to visit Sennen and St. Just for lunch.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Lovely to hear from you Plant .
We had overnight frost too Daisy. Nice and sunny now and we have washing on the line.
Don't overdo things Oma. It will be lovely to see GS1.
GD and GS2 know about their nanna. Both sad and GD a bit tearful and GS concerned about his mum.
GS1 is yet to be told
We have set all the wheels in motion this morning and are waiting for the death certificate to be sent to the registrar before we can make an appointment.

Hallo everyone, the sun is out, it is still a cold wind but not as cold as yesterday. There was a slight frost during the night. The GD's had an early start, they both set off on their bikes at 7-30am. I have been to the pool, when I got out there were 4 messages from GD2, she was home, the classes were dropped this afternoon. I told them both if I weren't home that my neighbour has the key, she went and got it so was in here when I arrived home. GD1 has just messaged, she is on her way home, the parents hope to land at 8pm.
We went by car to TKMaxx yesterday morning, too cold and windy to bike! The girls both got what they wanted, I got a nice shirt and a muffin tin.
Plant, you will enjoy you holiday with the family.
Gem, there will be many things to arrange, I know when Jan died it felt like I was living a dream and that it wasn't real the first few weeks.
GD2 is busy making a doll so I will go and see how she is doing.

Have your GDs inherited your sewing talents Lizzie?
We had a lovely surprise visit from C and P. We have been keeping in touch by messages as C is having weekly chemo now. She has known mum since we were 11 so couldn't bear not to come. They brought flowers and a card and stayed for a quick cuppa. It was lovely to see them. If C is up to it they will come to the funeral but I have said we totally understand if they can't.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem, the Registrar will take most things out of your hands if you want. They are able to contact banks, insurance etc if you give them permission. Saves an awful lot of time and effort on your part when you've got so much on your mind. The first few days/weeks will go past so quickly and I found it was the weeks after the funeral that really hit me. Finding paperwork and closing accounts, I invariably broke down and just sat and cried.....and called OH every name under the sun for leaving me. I hope he forgave me!
I'm sitting in an hotel room readying myself for an early morning funeral tomorrow of a dear uncle of OH. First funeral since OH's and I'm hoping it'll be OK, but not really looking forward to it.
Easter holidays here and I have arranged for DGS to come and join me on a run to the tip! He's thrilled about that, but I will pay him ( though he doesn't know that yet!). Some stuff is just too heavy for me to lift into the car and he's big and strong and needs a break from revising for his GCSEs.
It has been a glorious day here. It would be nice to think that warm weather is on its way, but I think the forecast is for wetter weather to be here for the weekend. I am dogsitting because DD and co are going back to visit MiL and take her out for Easter. Knowing MiL, I think I've got the better side of the bargain.
Sending love to all sad and poorly ladies. xx
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Wee Granny, I do hope the funeral went as well as possible. I'm sure it must bring back sad memories which are still so recent. Sending hugs. I'm sure your GS feels very grown up being asked to help with the heavy stuff. I hope is revision's going ok.
Lizzie, thank you for the photos of your GD and the bag etc. Is this the one you made for her a few days ago? It's lovely and looks very stylish.
Gem, how thoughtful of C and P to call round. They are such good friends, aren't they. I do hope her chemo is going well and she's not too poorly with the side effects.
Oma, I do hope you really are taking care - dusting and ironing can all be left! I hope GS enjoyed his dinner. I bet his plate was as clean as a whistle! I hope Libra Gran's move back to Dorset goes smoothly, although I'm sure she will miss her family in Devon.
Plant, I love St Ives, although it does get so crowded. It has special memories for me as I met OH a few days after returning from a wonderful 2 week holiday there, many, many years ago!
I've had a busy day trying to lick the house into shape for our visitors, but I also managed to escape into the garden this afternoon and cut the lawn. I've only just got back from taking Eva for a walk. It turned into a lovely day, but it's gone chilly again now.
This morning my computer decided enough was enough and wouldn't work! It's 10 years old, but I'm hoping my GS1 will be able to coax it into action again. Meanwhile I'm using my laptop which means everything takes twice as long."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
