Thanks, Nanto - I've tried grilling pork loin chops as well as frying them - perhaps I do them for too long, or on too high a heat.

Plant, I bet GGS is very excited about his family birthday lunch. Poor you having such a bad night. Is your arm easier now?

Lizzie - there's always at least one clock that's going to cause trouble. I changed the time on my new oven for the first time today. I kept setting the timer (which I never use) by mistake, but I like having the display showing the right time. I got there in the end! I've totally given up on the microwave clock, though. It sounds like Mimi's cooker clock - a b****r! I haven't reset the clock in my car yet. I sort of know how to do it, but will probably have to get the manual out to make sure.

Mimi, you need more stone skimming practice (for which read "lazy days at the beach"! ) It's mortifying when your quite small children beat you at anything. It's ok if you "let" them win to give them confidence etc but getting beaten fair and square is another matter.

It's been another day of washing and ironing for me. I've done all the cushion covers and throws etc as well as the guest bedding in the last two days.

I hope you enjoyed the party lunch Plant. I'm sorry your arm kept you awake.

You have certainly been busy with the washing and ironing Daisy!

We had a drive to the coast stopping for pub lunch on the way. I can't walk far at the moment but we parked on the cliff top and enjoyed the view.

A few warm days would do us the world of good wouldn’t it .

What was it like at the coast was it dry ?

          Daisy
It always feels good when you get things washed , I washed cushions and a throw yesterday
I find Pork chops tasteless and dry too no matter what we do with them ,
You don’t get them with the good basting fat on them these days ,
B used to love them when you got the kidney with them , yuk ,

          Plant
Hows your arm now ? Do you know what caused it to hurt .

GS has been offered a place in Manchester uni but he has a interview for one in Leeds tomorrow , he has applied for two in Leeds one is Leeds Beckett , where he has his interview ,the other is Leeds Conservatoire .

Nanto - I'm sure you're right about not grilling pork loin chops. As Oma says, they're not like they used to be - Oma, tell B I loved the kidney as well!

Oma, well done to GS1 in being offered a place at Manchester. I really hope he gets one for Leeds Conservatoire as well. Wish him luck from me.

Gem, just watching the sea from the cliff top is good. I hope you enjoyed it.

OH has a hospital appointment first thing tomorrow, so I might not be around until later. Not looking forward to the journey though as the usual route has extensive roadworks and I think we'll have to go via the motorway which is a long way round.

Good morning.Washed a load of darks and they are out on the line.

Oma, we have been saying for a long time, that you don't get pork chops with the kidney now.
We liked them when they came on the bone.

              Daisy,hope OH's appointment goes well.

Dinner is roast potatoes, chicken and bacon lattice pie, peas and carrots, with chicken gravy.

Good morning, a slight frost here early on, at least the wind has gone, it is dry now but rain forecast all this week.

I have just phoned the doctor, appointment at 10am! My right eye is sore and has been a while, I will see what she has to say about it.

Nanto, our pork chops are still on the bone. Not a chop without a bone.

I am going to hoover through before I go to the doctors, I have just received a mail from the fridge people, apologising that the spare part hasn't arrived yet and saying they haven't forgotton me!

                    Good morning everyone.

Nan2, it's a good forecast here all day so we intend to get a washload on the line before we go out.

Oma, well done to GS1! No rain at the coast yesterday, although there was a little on the drive back. It was quite sunny but very windy up there!

I hope you get something for your sore eye Lizzie.

I hope things go as smoothly as possible for OH's appointment and the journey Daisy.

We are going to see my auntie today. We haven't seen her this year but have kept in touch. We will have lunch at the on site bistro where she lives this time.
Sainsbury's delivery at 5.30 then out globe trotting friends are coming round after tea for a catch up.

All present and correct with both cats next door since the wanderer returned. Two days ago however we arrived to give them their evening meal, close curtains etc to find the patio door at the back standing open! The dad of one of the couple is working on a new bathroom some days. Once previously we found it unlocked when he had been but at least closed. This time it was open

I tried a night without painkillers last night and it wasn't a good idea. I will take some tonight.

                    Happy Monday everyone.

My SILs dad did that once when they were away , he had gone to close curtains etc and see to the cats to give us a break .
When we went on the morning the back door was wide open , luckily the door into the kitchen was closed so the cats couldn’t get out but open house for burglars, he was convinced he had closed it after watering the plants .

Hope you have a good visit with your Aunt but I bet your tired today after a painful night xxx

Thanks to paracetamol I had a good nights sleep and have only just managed to prise myself out of bed. I am having some disturbed nights due to my painful arms. It is called something itis I sleep on my side so both shoulders hurt. Had a lovely afternoon at GGS 6th birthday party, he had one for his friends in the morning then grandparents, aunts uncles and cousins in the afternoon. He is a Lego fanatic so it was a Lego themed party. H had a lovely time, played with balloons most of the time.

Gemini, love a good blow at the seaside. I am sure your aunt will be pleased to see you both.

Daisy, good luck with the hospital visit, I hope the drive isn’t too stressful.

Not keen on pork, find chops a bit indigestible. I don’t think I have eaten pork since OH died 10 years ago.

Lizzie, I hope you have a diagnosis about your eye and the Dr. Can prescribe something.

Oma, I hope GS gets accepted at the Uni he wants to go to.

Lunch in the village hall for me today, I had better get a shift on.

Plant, I'm glad paracetamol helped you get a decent night's sleep .

It sounds as though your GGS had a lovely birthday weekend. My GS2 will be 7 in a couple of weeks and has similar exciting things planned 😊

A late Monday 'hello everyone'. It's a bit chilly but the sun's shining.

I've read everyone's news but am just about to mow the lawn while it's dry enough, then take Eva for walkies. It's all go!

Everything went well at the hospital today, but they didn't warn us that OH was having drops and a scan, so we were there much longer than we expected. The journey there was ok via the motorway, and it was really quiet when we left the hospital so I drove the normal way home. Then the phone started ringing. Poor OH really just wanted to rest and doze but he got one call after another, so he's now had lunch and I've left him to have a nap! He says thank you everyone for your kind messages. xx
