Plant, I'm so sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself and get well soon. Sending hugs. xxx
Gem, it was lovely here once the rain stopped. Poor you. You probably shouldn't have been driving today, but like all us grans, you carry on because you've promised to do something. I hope you get a good night's sleep. I think a hot water bottle is a good idea for tomorrow, unless S or one of your DDs can drive you to see your Mum.

Good morning, Plant, poor you! I ached all over when I had covid, every muscle and every bone seemed to hurt! I hope you soon feel better.xxx
Gem, I hope the sciatica soon goes, do you do the muscle exercises?
Daisy, with you getting Cooper in the car, a neighbour had the same problem with his dog the other day, in fact the dog went and hid behind another car!
Oma, B would love the chocolate, I only like Lindt 100%.
I had better get myself dressed and get the washing hung out.
Lizzie and Oma, Lindt is my favourite chocolate, especially the milk chocolate and the chocolate figures.
Daisy, OH can't drive me today as it is a golfer and non golfer competition at the golf club today! She is playing with one of our non golfing friends. I could go to the care home by bus but it would be two buses, and a walk to the bus stop from home.
I decided to see my mum today when OH is busy as mum won't realise whether it is Mother's Day today or tomorrow. Tomorrow I can stay at home and family come to us.
OH says I shouldn't go but I really can't not see my mum over the Mother's Day weekend, especially as she was quite poorly and deaf last time I saw her.
That was rather a miserable post there!
Happy Saturday ladies

Poor you , i do hope you only have it mild and for a short time , big hugs coming your way.
Gem
That's taking its toll on you , it must be so painful.
It is not one of those pains you can put a bit of Voltarol or something similar on and it helps you get on with it ,
Its a law unto itself isn't it .
I hope your Mums ok and the visit is a good one after all your effort xx
Lizzie
I am a dark chocolate girl , the darker the better for me.
Daisy
Yes B got a large Lindt bunny as well as a big bag of pick & mix and a box of chocolates
We have to go back with my Sandals on Tuesday a shame but they not a good fit
Also the shoes B bought he tried them on this morning and one is a 7/12 the other is a 6/12
Trust us hahaha
I have done my weekend Blitz , stripped bed its in the wash im shattered now so sitting with feet up having a cup of tea,
only thing I forgot to do was dust the light fittings through, that's a quick easy job I will do later.
B is bees waxing my tables for me I hate the smell if it gets on my hands so don't like doing it , but I love the shine it gives .
Good Saturday morning, everyone. Thank you Nanto, for the lovely cheery graphic. We've had a lot of rain overnight, but it's clearing up now. Enjoy your trip to Wakefield.
Gem, I can understand you wanting to see your Mum this week-end and it sounds as though the bus journey would be worse than driving. I was hoping perhaps one of your DDs would be free to give you a lift. Do take care. I hope your Mum is feeling better after the antibiotics, and I'm sure you will be taking her some of her favourite cakes.
Plant, how are you feeling today? I hope the symptoms don't get worse and clear up quickly. Take care and get plenty of rest. Sending hugs. xxx
I'm not sure what's happening today. DS1 and GS2 may come down for lunch. I don't think GD2 has driven on the motorway since he passed his test a couple of weeks ago, so it would be a good chance for him to get some experience with DS there to keep an eye on things. It's too wet for gardening at the moment, so I might do some baking.
Have a good Saturday, everyone.

Well we had a good day in Wakefield town.
Went to Sainsburys for supermarket shopping after the town and after dinner.
The milk situation wasn't very good. We buy our milk for the week.
I get 4x4 pint bottles if semi skimmed. Usually end up buying another at the local shop at the end of the week.
Anyway, we managed to get 2 x6 pint bottles.
Not sure if there were shortages of anything else, managed to get all the other stuff.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
The hot water bottle certainly helped a lot with the pain whilst I was driving today. I could tell the difference driving home when I couldn't use it as it had gone cold.
It was good to see mum dressed and out of bed. She was happy with her flowers and Thornton's chocs. Plus cream cake of course. There were some points of confusion with her thinking she and I had both come to visit and thinking we would be leaving together. It's sad but on the whole a good visit.

Gem, I'm pleased your Mum was up and dressed, and was pleased with her gifts. The hot water bottle was a good idea. If you have to drive again before you're better you could take a flask of hot water as well and refill the hot water bottle.
I'm hoping Plant is ok as well.
Nanto, I wonder why there were no 4 pint bottle of milk. Sainsbury's usually seem to have crates and crates of milk filling half an aisle. We have milk delivered so I don't pay much attention to it in the supermarket, but I don't remember ever seeing shortages of it.
DS1 and GS2 arrived in time for lunch. I'd made flapjacks which were just out of the oven when they arrived, and I did a chicken curry for lunch. It was great to see them. After lunch DS helped OH with some tech stuff and GS2 has brought his A Level Computing project to show me on his laptop. I have to confess most of it went over my head, but I got the general idea. He's put a huge amount of work into it so far, so I hope he gets it finished in time. We also had a chat about Life and the Universe - like most teenagers he's thinking about his future and how he wants to plan things. He was happy driving on the motorways and DS seemed very relaxed about the journey.
They have some German friends coming over at Easter and they want a quick tour of the New Forest, so I've spent most of the evening trying to work out the what would be the most interesting use of their time.
"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
Daisy, not sure why there wasn't any 4 pints of semi skimmed milk.
There was plenty of full cream 4 pints.
I also noticed that flowers which are usually £5 a bunch were £20.
I know they always bump up the price for Mothers Day, but i thought that was some hike.
Sounds like you had a lovely visit with DS1 and GS2.
DS1 is off today,so he's coming for dinner.Doing a full english.
He likes that, and its one of our favourite dinners.
Gem, glad you had a nice visit with your Mum.
Hope Plant is ok.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
Good morning everyone, have a lovely Mothers Day! Ours is in May.
Nanto, the price of the flowers is disgusting! I was reading only the other day what they cost.
Gem, pleased you got to visit your mum.
Daisy, you would enjoy having the visitors, warm flapjacks! I used to make them regular when the boys were small.
I managed to get 2 lovely plant pots at the charity shop, I have been wanting some that size, I came home and sorted all the plants out, then decided to do the windows as well, a bit too much for my arthritis hands!
I was going to the material market in Den Haag, it is in Delft in a fortnights time and that is handier.
I am going to get a shower and get myself dressed.
Good morning everyone, and a HAPPY MOTHER's DAY to all who celebrate today.
Daisy that sounds a lovely afternoon. I love flapjack!
Full English, always a good choice Nan2.
Yes be careful of your hands Lizzie, arthritis is no fun.
We are having a family get together today. We are providing sandwiches and crisps, tea, coffee etc. DDs are bringing cakes and goodies. An afternoon tea style lunch. Ours is a good venue as we have cot for the baby
Sending love to Plant, and anyone else under the weather.

Gem, your family get together sounds fun, and means everyone gets to see everyone else.
Lizzie, I know I've said it before, but you do well with your shopping. Were they large pots?
Nanto, enjoy your full English with DS1.
Plant, I hope you're feeling a bit better and the family is looking after you well.
I think Mothers' Day (or Mothering Sunday, as my MIL always said it should be called), is a bit like Christmas in that decisions have to be made about who sees who and where and when. I've always made it clear to my DSs that their priority is their own other halves and making sure our grandchildren do something nice for their own mums. So it was a nice surprise to see DS1 and GS2 yesterday with a lovely plant, photos and a card, plus a card my DIL1 had made for me - really beautiful with lovely words.
Whatever your plans, I hope you all have a lovely day. xx

Plant

Daisy
Flap jacks are so moreish you need more than one
Pleased GS seems confident on the motorway , if his Dad was relaxed then he must have done well.
GS 1 comes and shows us his work and its way over my head but we nod in the right places I think
Gem
Nice to hear you had a good visit with your Mum
Sad when they are confused like that but you handle it so well .
Enjoy your day with the family but let the girls look after you , you rest and be pampered for a change xx
Lizzie
Painful hands are no fun , I have the same problem , it hurts just picking a cup up or trying to open something ,
Even brushing my hair holding the brush can be painful .
Do you have a hand strap or support you can use .
Nanto
A good old full English , no one can resist that
The sun is out and its not too cold ,
We out with DD, SIL and his parents for Brunch this morning , not sure if GS will be there as he was out with his Girlfriend last night ,
He may be having a lie in .
Happy Mothers day to you all have a great day what ever your doing xxx
