Lizzie, I love outdoor swimming, but it has to be in a warm sea! It is very popular now though cold water swimming. Brrr!

Don’t fancy outdoor swimming in cold water, a pool near here has an outdoor section in warm water, it is lovely. Not sure if that would be allowed now, waste of energy.

Lizzie, we have a sunny quiet day here. The roses are beautiful.

I had 3 squirrels attacking the feeders yesterday. The largest managed to knock the squirrel proof feeder onto the ground so it was a free for all. The two crows kept their distance until the squirrels went and then had their share. The little birds were too frightened to enter the fray. I shall attempt to fasten the squirrel proof one more securely. Out to lunch today at a local restaurant with DD, Sil, GD1 and baby H.

Yes GS would take his car , it’s like his 3rd arm now 😁 wouldn’t be without it .
Wherever he goes he will stay in the halls first year then DD& SIL are going to buy him a flat while he is there then rent it out to other students when he moves on .

We saw the Whitney Houston film 'I wanna Dance with Somebody '. I thought it was excellent, but so sad that she died so young. My conclusion, from the film at least, was that without men ( her lovely agent excepted) her life would have been a lot better.

Just to say we have had a lovely day, helping GS2 to celebrate - not too much, though as he has an exam tomorrow! He had some lovely presents in addition to drum lessons, and lunch was more a banquet than a buffet! The gammon turned out really well, though, and it's going to become a go-to for me - even I can't get it very wrong!

Our internet connection tonight is awful so I'm off to bed and hope it will be better tomorrow.

Baby GS3 is coming this morning, his mummy has a hairdressers appointment. No other plans. We got the Christmas stuff into the loft on Saturday so that is ticked off the list.

Well I’m not having the best week , What with my mouth having a cold then last night I put my back out .

went to get out of the chair and it just went ,
I have had to lay on the sofa all night as I couldn’t get up the stairs ,
I couldn’t even get to the stair lift to get me up I was in so much pain .

I have had heat packs and ice packs on , B got up at 3 and did them again for me but haven’t really helped

This getting old is literally a pain you never know what’s hitting next do you 🙄😁

Good morning. It's been a busy start to the day.

Oma, you are having a bad time health wise. I hope there is improvement in the back pain today and now you have snow to contend with. Your GS is a very lucky young man having so much financial help from his family when he goes to University. At least he will not have that worry so allowing him to study.

Daisy, It sounds like you had a lovely family day celebrating your GS1’s 18th birthday. I must try that ham recipe when I have someone to share it with.

I am going to spend some time with GD1 and H today, we are going to a play centre at 2pm. I need to get myself showered and dressed. I will pop back later.

What a start to the day.
7am,someone who was on his way to work,came to pick a dyson up that hubby repaired.
Hubby was still in bed,he isn't a morning person,and i had to get him up quick.
Now i hate having to do that, makes him grumpy.
It knocked all my morning out.
Anyway he has gone to help his pal now.

Beef and veggies in slow cooker. Some of it will be used for pies,the rest will be frozen into portions.
This can be served with savoury pancakes or dumplings or yorkshire puddings.
Today will be potato croquettes and fish fingers done in the air fryer.
Peas will be warmed in the microwave.

Good Monday morning everyone. No snow for us. We've got a 'summer' sky - blue with fluffy white clouds - but it's a chilly 4C at the moment. The other critical factor is that our village is surrounded by floods, with several roads out of the village impassable! Definitely a day to stay at home.

Nanto, I hate it when the day starts like that! Neither of us are morning people, but OH is worse than me. I hope the rest of the day improves.

Oma, what on earth are we going to do with you! A bad back is agony, I know only too well, but generally it's better if you can keep moving, even a little. But take care do it gently. How are your mouth and your cold? A sneezing or coughing attack is the last thing you need. Sending very gentle hugs. I hope B is feeling better now.

Gem, I hope you're having a lovely morning with GS3. I'm sure you enjoy it as much as he does. Were you glad to finally get the Christmas stuff put away? We find if we don't do jobs like that straight away it seems to take us ages. There's always something more urgent or important!

No plans for me today, although OH is going out tonight. Our internet connection is a bit better than last night, thank goodness. I can't wait to get fibre to the property installed!

Our colds are much better both feel as though they are almost gone ,
My mouth isn’t as painful I’m finding I can go longer without pain killers but now with this back pain it’s not helping .

We have sunshine now but not enough to melt the snow . It looks pretty but not to be out in .
GS 1 coming for his tea after college, wants Steak mashed potato and peppercorn sauce ,
B gone for a liver scan so picking up peppercorn sauce on his way home .
