    I'm back!

Oma, two shocking accidents. Your poor GS2 must have been in so much pain with such an awful freak accident. I hope it all heals up ok, and your GD as well! Is her foot broken or just badly bruised. Did she have to wait long to be seen in A&E? What a dreadful start to the New Year.

Nanto, isn't it wonderful to see the first snowdrops! Ours aren't showing any signs yet, but I'll be watching out for them Did you enjoy eating out?

Gem, I bet your mum has enjoyed the Christmas cake. Will you take her tree down this visit? S is very sensible! If it makes you happy to leave your decorations up for a bit longer, why not. Enjoy them. Well done to GS1 for going back to school so well. Going back is hard when they don't like school. GD1 went back yesterday and came back grumbling about PE (don't know why!) and very tired. GD2 went back today taking in a whole load of baking she'd done yesterday - scones with jam and cream, and honeycomb. She probably feeds the whole class, but loves baking and likes to show off her cakes!

Plant, I hope your's resting and feeling better. xx

We're having one of those days. Things keep happening, phone calls, callers, problems online, and I don't seem to be getting anything done! It's a good job dog training doesn't start until next week!

      Daisy
Some days are like that arnt they , you seem to never stop but actually never get anything done .
Do you think GD will make a career out of Baking , if she enjoys it so much it may be ideal for her .

Oma, with 3 dancing daughters and a dancing GD I can imagine how disappointed your GD is about the competition .

Some days are like that Daisy. Things conspire against you.

Mum loved the cake and Wensleydale and made short work of it. I didn't take her Christmas tree down. I will say more about this on YEO.

Oma your poor GS and GD .
Plant that eye infection sounds horrible I hope it are feeling a lot better soon.

It's been a busy day. I took advantage last the dry, windy weather and changed the bedding. It's so nice to actually dry something outside, the washing smells so much nicer for it .
In between changing the sheets the dr rang . I 've to stay on my current medication and I will have a review in 12 months time.
I did some ironing this morning which is rare for me I'm ashamed to say that there was actual dust on the iron 😳
The fish cakes were welcome treat ( if you can call it that ) . We still have countless amount of biscuits still here I must get DS to take some home with him when he pops by.

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

We had a lovely time out for a meal with SIS in law and her hubby.
We were sat eating and chatting for almost 3 hours, the time flew by.
After we got home, we took GD2 car home for her. Had a couple of hours with DS1.
He wanted to bring us home in the car,but we said no,we will walk. Its only about 10 minutes away when walking.

Oma, hope GS and GD are feeling better after their accidents.

I did my ironing this morning as well. Its a job i don't mind doing.

I sent lots of biscuits home with DS last week , Im sure the 4 of them would polish them off quicker than we would .
I hate the smell of outdoor dried clothes , when I hang them out B has to take them in when they dry till the smell goes ,
                I know I’m strange πŸ€ͺ😁

Oma, I'm sure your GD's toes will be very painful for a while, but she must be disappointed about not being able to dance this week-end.

All this talk of ironing! You're all making me feel guilty - but not guilty enough to blow the cobwebs off our iron!

We've escaped the Christmas season with no extra biscuits, apart from some cheese biscuits. But we are half way through a panettone and haven't cut into the Christmas cake yet.

Nanto, that sounds like a very enjoyable pub meal.

Mimi, I think your GP must be confident that you are on the right meds at the moment. Keep taking the tablets, as they say. xx

Plant, sending hugs. xx It must feel like one thing after another at the moment. Don't let it get you down - things will get better.

OH didn't get round to doing the summerhouse door today, so I hope it's not too cold tonight or my poor Canna Lilies and other tender plants will be shivering in their pots. They are covered in fleece as well, but they're used to being pampered.

                    Good morning.

I don't think we will be going out anywhere today. Can always find something to do at home though.

Dinner will be cod in breadcrumbs, baby potatoes, mixed veg and parsley sauce.

                      Good morning all.

I had a strange dream, I was taking a maths exam, the questions were odd, they were all about bottles of wine and how much each one cost .
Obviously the maths bit must have been on my mind because of the prime minster announcement about math's being taught up to the age of 18,
When I was at school maths wasnt my favourite subject, in fact I hated it. I was the sort of pupil who was much happier playing tennis , netball or hockey.

When I was at the pharmacy yesterday I couldn't help but notice that there was a sign on display at the one end of the counter saying, Please be aware that the staff are doing their best and any medication shortage isn't the fault of this pharmacy. Rude and abusive customer's will be asked to leave.
isn't it alarming that we are seeing more and more of this type of notice in many shops .

Don't have anything planned for today.

                      Have a good day everyone

Had you been drinking wine Mimi.
Yes you are right,we are seeing more of this kind of notice.
Don't know what things are coming to.

Plant, hope you are feeling a bit better today.
I've been wondering how Clover is as well.

                          Mimi
I read that lots of pharmacy staff are being abused , they can't control distribution can they .
Well if you have to do maths I suppose costing wine is as good as anything 😁

                          Nanto
Always something that needs doing even when you think it's all done .

We off to take MILs food over, Chicken in Mushroom sauce with veg , Lamb hot pot . A Lamb roast dinner with yorkshires , 2 Apple Charlotte's. There would have been Frangipan tart if it hadn't landed on the floor.
She decided to wait till last night to ring with a shopping list so we have to go to Sainsburys this morning , if she had rang earlier we could have gone before they closed.
Have a good day ladies I will pop back later xx

                            Good morning everyone.

What a nice social day you had yesterday Nan2.

Poor cala lilies Daisy, they hate winter as we do!

Mimi a maths related dream would be a nightmare to me!

Free day today as I saw mum yesterday.
I intend to be very domesticated making soup and bread and a chicken casserole for tea ( plus one for the freezer)
Plenty of relaxing time too hopefully.

Sending best wishes to Plant and anyone else under the weather at the moment.

                              Good Thursday morning, everyone.

Nanto, staying home in the warmth is a good option at this time of year.

Oma, I hope your MIL is pleased to see you after giving you such a late shopping list.

Mimi, I think you should be in charge of the Maths syllabus for up to 18 year olds! I've always said for many of us Maths needs to relate to real life. When you think how much time is spent doing 'abstract' Maths that you never use again I think that time could be better spent understanding the maths and economics of every day life.

It's frightening how many places have to display warning notices about abusive behaviour. I dread to think where this hideous trend will end!

Gem, enjoy your day as a domestic goddess making all those delicious goodies.

I'm going to do some of the jobs I didn't do yesterday - all being well!

Good morning everyone, a better day here, I have got my washing hung out in the hope that it dries. I haven't been to the gym yet, I will go about 11-30, it isn't usually busy at that time, thinking about it, it could be as the schools still have holidays.

Oma, the meals you take to MIL make me want to cook something different.

I went down to my friends yesterday, the one I go to aqua with, she will be 75 this month and her plan was to take the family out for a meal, only, the plan has changed, she has 2 daughters, they got on really well together before Covid, one had all her vaccinations, the other didn't and they had an argument about it all and they have never spoken since. Ermy was telling me they both had the same tattoo a few years ago, something like 'sisters are friends forever', one of them has had another tattoo done over it! It has really upset my friend.
