Morning ladies
We started decorating our porch and front door this morning with Halloween stuff,
I have light up skulls and pumpkins and a black cat for my windows but discovered I had no batteries for them so wewent down to the £1 shop to get some , came home and realised B had picked up the wrong size ,
He had to go back and get the right ones ,
Its forecast mild so we should get a fair fewLittle ones ,
It tends to stop about 7pm .

We should live next door to each other we would have a riot at Halloween 🎃😂

The leaves are coming down thick and fast here , it’s likeRed and Orange snow coming down ,
Storm sits in the garden and watches them fall and jumps now and then when they land on him ,
Stupid dog hasn’t the sense to move🙄

Youhave been so lucky with the weather ,
We only had Turnips too, so hard to carve , I can still remember the smell of the candle burning the lid black ,
We wouldn’t dream of letting out children take something with a lit candle in these days would we 🙄😂

we use our Ninja air fryer/ cooker a lot , B made Beef Bourguignon in ours last night
It’s not a bad day here either .

Oma, thank you for for the lovely halloween e card. It was lovely.
Our air fryer is used most days.
I took some par boiled baby potatoes out of the freezer and they will be finished off in the air fryer.
Makes the crispy,how we like them.
Having southern fried chicken and baked beans with them.

Put a load of darks out this morning. Just cleaned the bathroom so those towels have been washed and they are on the line.
Feels quite mild this morning.Oh, its afternoon now.

Good afternoon.
I have been for my flu jab at the local chemist’s this morning and was greeted by several witches behind the counter! When I went into the consulting room The nurse had on a very ‘bloody’ apron, a headband with a syringe pointing downwards so it looked like she had a needle stuck in her head and to top it off, a large, bloody looking syringe into which she had stuck her pen! The staff looked fantastic and gave everyone a smile. 😁
The horse riding lesson.
Very nice friendly horse brought in from field, brushed then tacked up. DD1 and GD both in assistance. Hat to fit found and ready to go….or not.
Stood on mounting block, foot in stirrup, not high enough. Taller block. Foot in stirrup again, and …nothing. My left leg would NOT move! It was like it didn’t belong to me.😳
After we stopped laughing I realised that this was not going to happen short of dropping me on to the horse from a crane. I have absolutely no idea what went wrong but I have given up hope of ever riding a horse. I have nominated DD2 to take my place.

Glad you had a good hols and birthday Plant. Oma, your GS looked a treat in his costume. Re. Phone, I expect he had a pocket in his knickers. Daisy, happy cooking. Are your ovens side by side? Mine are one on top of another which is fine if you’re not short like me!
Nanto2 you always make my mouth water. Dinner always sounds delicious. Lizzie, bike riding is another thing I’m not good at. The roads here are so busy I think I would end up pushing it on the pavement. Gem, what a shame OH doesn’t like Halloween. The trail sounds fun. WG, your Scottish Halloween sounds fun too. I have to agree about the darker nights now. I don’t like them much either.
Off to have a pleasant afternoon playing cards with the ladies.

Been raining this morning. Not sure what is happening today.
Hubby out for a couple of hours this morning with his pal.
Told another pal he'll help him with something this afternoon, ut it depends on the weather.
Beef casserole for dinner,took it out of the freezer last night.

Grauntie,i think you fared better than i would have with the horse, made me chuckle though.

Good morning, very windy here, it is still dry though. I have been to the gym and caught up on all the chat! I am going to get my hair cut at 9am.

Grauntie, you got further than I would have done with the horse!! I used to help GD1 when she went riding, getting the horse saddled up, mouthpiece? etc all in place.

I hope to go in the car to the hairdressers, I don't want to get blown off the bike.

I will catch up with the rest of the chats later.

Daisy, you asked about the autumn colours, very nice, only with this wind there won't be many left on the trees!

I enjoy taking dinner from the freezer Nan2 OH made us lamb burgers last night and I advised her to make 4 and freeze 2 and the 2 extra burger buns for another time.

Lots of rain overnight but it's windy so it's dried up a bit.

I am going to be looking after baby GS3 this morning while his mummy goes to the dentist. She has the same dentist as I do which is in the centre of town and the original plan was for GS and I to have walk round while she was in there then meet for coffee. It's a miserable morning so we have changed our minds! The two of us will stay warm and dry.
GS1 from school this afternoon.

Grauntie, what about a pony, you might achieve your ambition on one. I have always imagined you as a tall lady. I love horses but I am allergic to them, I get red eyes and a bit breathless.

Leaves still in tacked here Daisy, our red maple is a sight. You sound to have made a friend of your new cooker.

Gemini, your Halloween sounds fun. When we were driving through France yesterday there were children out and about in their costumes with little buckets.

Nanto, you certainly are getting to grips with your Air Fryer.

Lizzie, good idea to go to the hairdressers in the car if it is windy.

Our home is tucked away up a track so we do not get any callers on Halloween. When the children were small we did decorate pumpkins and had a few callers.

We got home about 8pm and sent out for a curry. We made a detour on the way home to a cemetery to visit the grave of my OH’s uncle who was killed in the First World War. Very sad to see hundreds of grave stones of young men. The War Graves Commission keep it very well. My DD left a small cross with a poppy attached.

Colours are beautiful but the falling leaves are a nightmare ,
As we have thousands of trees around us we are constantly clearing this time of year and it’s difficult when they are wet .
The car would be the best option going to hairdressers.

A chance to have cuddles when your in the house nice and warm 😁

Its wet and dreary here ,
I was going to clean the front door and the glass panels where I had stick on Halloween decorations but it’s so wet I will wait till it dries up a little .

GS phoned last night , he’s coming for lunch could he have a roast dinner,
Luckily there is a carton of roast beef in the freezer that was left over from last week ,
We took that out last night to defrost and Veg are prepared and in the steamer , Yorkshire puds in the oven just gravy to make ,
He likes Nanas gravy , I make it the way he likes it thick enough to stand a spoon up 😂

We are out with his other grandparents D&J for tea tonight .
