Hallo, a late catch up today! I decided to get my yearly calendar made and ordered, always a lot of work, strangely enough I do enjoy doing it, all is done now and ready to order.

I thought my neighbour had to go to the hospital today, I just went to see how she went on and they both have covid! I was wrong about the hospital anyway, that is next week.

I had a walk this morning then later to the village, it is DB's birthday today so we had a chat this afternoon.

Plant, I hope that baby H soon improves. Watch what you are doing when lifting heavy shopping.

Oma, my DB was saying they had been to a farm shop for fish and chips at lunch time, I hope you have recovered from yours.

Hope baby is ok and it’s not like my GN having Foot hand and mouth , he’s feeling so much better now but he was really poorly for a few days ,
Its raging through little ones up here .

Would be a good idea getting shopping delivered till your shoulder and neck are feeling better xx

      Lizzie
Covid cases are on the rise again here , I personally think it’s due to the crowds at the Queens funeral plus the winter coming on .
      Hope your friends are ok
You reminded me I need to get my new calendar, I like to transfer all the important dates onto the new one as soon as I can .

We enjoyed our meal out. It was very nice.

Had quite a bit of rain this afternoon.

Plant, hope baby H is feeling better soon.
Take care Plant, stop lifting heavy shopping.

Daisy, you'll soon be straight again.

Mimi,we have a squirrel that comes to visit.
Don't know how long its been coming for,but i've seen it twice in the past week.

Nan2, I'm glad you enjoyed the meal.

Plant, I do hope baby H is feeling better soon. It's horrible when little ones are poorly isn't it? Do get your main shopping delivered, we don't want you struggling with it all on your own and making your shoulder worse!

It's frustrating when supermarkets make strange substitutions Daisy. I was once sent red and blue food colourings in place of the orange and black I had ordered. It was late October and obviously for Halloween so not a suitable substitute at all!

Is it a photo calendar you make Lizzie? A friend very kindly makes one for us each year. I must start sorting out some photos for her!

You must have needed that nap Oma.

DD1 called in to drop something off this morning, and take some of our apples. She stayed for coffee and we had long chat. Nice to see her as SIL usually collects GS each week so I don't see a lot of DD.
I saw mum this afternoon and it was on the whole a nice visit. She was very unhappy, tearful and confused when I first got there, but that didn't last long. They brought us both a cuppa and we ate the doughnuts I had taken and had some good chats about the past, and some about the family, mainly the new baby. I stayed two hours and mum was calm and happy when I left (but also a bit sad to see me go!)

Gem, I'm glad the visit to your Mum went well on the whole. How lovely to have a chance to chat with DD1, and relax. Love the food colouring choices. As Oma says you'd never notice the difference.

Plant, I'd definitely do an online order so you don't have to lift heavy things. Do Waitrose do a 'carry out' service if you shop in person? I know supermarkets used to do that, but since Covid everything seems to have changed. Poor little H, I hope she's ok.

Lizzie, well done on getting your calendar made in good time. Your poor neighbours getting Covid.

Nanto, I'm pleased you enjoyed your lunch out, but the rain timed itself badly at lunch time - I'd just put a load of washing on the line when it started!

Oma, you definitely needed that sleep. xx

We've done quite a bit of 'putting things back' today. But lots more still to do. I took Eva out between showers and cooked a stir fry for dinner. I even managed to watch Gardener's World tonight. Some amazing gardens, aren't there. I love seeing what other people plant and how they care for their 'little acres'.

Good morning, a lovely sunny morning again, I have just got some washing hung out, the rest is to follow.

Yes, Gem, they are photo calendars, I make one every year, I used to do it through the UK, but, after the Brexit and all the new rules I do it from another site, I must say the service and quality are very good. My friend in Scotland sent me a calendar each year, the one last year still has to arrive, I paid the import duty tax for it and it never arrived.

Oma, covid is spreading here and we didn't have a Queens funeral to blame, I think it is the time of the year. My neighbours, they both have it and the lady hardly ever goes out of the door at the moment so the man must have picked it up somewhere. The home where my friend is has been closed to visitors all this week, I got a message yesterday that visitors are allowed again from Monday.

I will have a walk to the shops later on when all my washing is hung out to dry.

Good Saturday morning everyone. It was chilly overnight, but the sun is out now, and I hope it's going to be a dry day.

Oma, you can't beat the smell of fresh bread, can you!

Lizzie, I think you're right about the 'time of year' for everything from a bit of a sniffle to full-blown flu, and now Covid.

More sorting out and getting the house tidy again for us today. I'll be glad when it's done.

                  Take care, everyone.

                    Good morning. Nice and sunny.
Only doing supermarket washing today,so done a load of dark washing.
They are on the line outside.

Oma, fresh warm bread is one of the nicest smells.

Daisy, you'll get there, then say it was worth all the upheavel.

Gem,pleased your visit to mum wasn't too bad.

                    Have a good day ladies.

Nanto, we have to make the most of whatever sunshine we get at this time of year.

                        Good morning ladies.

Oma, if ever you see a prelit 3 to 4 foot Chritmas tree in B&M would you let me know?? I am thinking of getting a new one for mum's room and prelit would be easiest. I have seen a couple online but only white lights and mum likes coloured.

Daisy, you will be glad when it's all done I'm sure.

Nan2 it does look as if washing will dry here too. Probably not too many of those days left!

I would have liked to see baby GS3 today, but they have a uni friend staying for the weekend so I am leaving them in peace

Lizzie, care homes dread covid in the home. Not only for the obvious risk to residents, it means closing to visitors.
They have all had their next booster in homes here.

DD and GS1 are free and said if they go for a walk they will pop in.
No other plans, although OH has recently been muttering about decluttering the loft

I will cook salmon tonight, one of my favourites

Gem I had a look didn’t see any but the girl I asked said they didn’t have all the stock out yet they are still making room , clearing isles etc .
Have you looked at Studio card or is it just Studio now ? They often have nice trees in ,
I remember years ago we had a small tree that hung on the wall from there 😁

No plans today, just go with the flow, I might go chasing cobwebs with my fluffy thing. I am wondering how H is today, she was so poorly yesterday. I might start wearing a mask in shops again, I don’t want to pick up Covid as I am going to Normandy with the family in a couple of weeks.

Daisy, perhaps you should have a day off if you have a sunny day. Has Eva rolled on them yet to leave her smell?

Oma, pleased to hear you are not going to do your usual Saturday cleaning, I am sure those doors and skirtings haven’t picked up any dirt since last week. I can’t believe you and B make a lot of mess. Enjoy the rest, I hope you have sunshine. We don’t do Halloween, as we live off the road we don’t get any callers. DD might do a pumpkin lantern. My GD1 gets a lot of callers as she lives on an estate and there are quite a lot of children.

Gemini, I love salmon too, I am having some of the chicken casserole I cooked yesterday and will put the rest in portions in the freezer.

Nanto, I am going to portion up the chicken casserole for the freezer, had some last evening, it was good.

Lizzie, I have never heard of a portrait calendar, at least you wouldn’t have to write all the birthdays in.

Plant, yes take care, you don't want to catch anything before your holiday. Have you had your booster yet?

We have been busy this morning taking apples from the tree. We already have a lot in the shed, but got many more today (pics on FB) Next door's cat Charlie, who I adore, went up the tree, just like our cat Daisy used to I cant say he was much help, but it was lovely to have his company. OH was the one up the tree, me the catcher.

DD and GS1 are walking over to us, then we are all going to the locks for a look round, riverside walk and cafe visit. GS will go anywhere where food is involved! It is a really sunny day here!
