    Good morning everyone.

Nan2, that's a sweet and happy good morning graphic

Daisy, good to hear of a quick and positive appointment experience!

Library this morning then I am taking my friend T to buy a new TV this afternoon. I may start on packing too.
it's so gloomy here again. In one weeks time I will see sun!

      Morning Nanto/Ladies

Dry so for for us also Nanto , but rain on it’s way forecast heavy from 11 onwards.
love fish fingers, got to be Cod though.

      Gem
So pleased it stayed dry for you all, everyone looked like they were having a good time, photos were lovely liked the one with S standing in the water with her trouser legs turned up 😁
You should definitely bring your stick if it helped your knee , anything to take the strain off it xx

      Daisy
Hows Js eye this morning ? I know sometimes it’s more sore than others,
Hope this is a good one.
You were lucky with both parking and timing in and out in no time 😁

      Lizzie
My Mam would say the same good old elbow grease 😁
She had bad knees too I can picture her now kneeling on a rolled up towel washing the floors,
She would be in agony getting up but in them days there wasn’t any new fangled steam mops etc and she Wasn’t keen on the floor mops that were around at the time.

Housework done, washing done, I will iron those later.
      Popping to M&S this morning.

Had Josh & Lucie for their Tea yesterday , haven’t seen him since last Sunday he’s been working everyday.
He is off to Ayia Napa on Thursdaywith a group of friends,
First lads holiday. We won’t rest till he’s home again.

Taking MIL out for tea, we know she loves the meals in this place that won’t be a problem, it will be her mouth and what comes out of it very loudly we will have to be careful of.
No filter and says what she wants for everyone to hear 🙄.

Oma, when GS2 and I EVENTUALLY arrived at the beach after his long stint up at the paddling pool S and P were deep in conversation in the sea, as in that photo!
Enjoy your tea out and fingers crossed it's a quiet day for MIL!

Good first of August morning, everyone.

Nanto - your graphic put a happy smile on my face - thank you. I love any variation on fish, chips and mushy peas.

Gem, does the library get busier in school holidays? They were lovely photos from yesterday, and you were lucky (relatively!) with the weather.

Plant, I hope you make it to the library in time. Are you doing a big food shop?

Oma, I've left J to sleep in. We've got nothing planned for today - it's a day of rest and recover for him. I'm doing washing and housework. I know they say no rest for the wicked, but I'm not sure I've been THAT naughty! . I hope your MIL behaves at tea time. You must be on edge wondering what she's going to say next.

I've got a load of whites in - table cloth and tea towels etc - I hope the rain holds off long enough to dry them outside.

Plant I hope your group takes off. There is a board games event every Tuesday morning ( same morning as I am at the library) in the space behind the Reading Cafe. No one ever comes!

Daisy the summer reading challenge can make these particular holidays busy. In fact last Tuesday was manic with so many children signing up!

Gem, it's good to know the summer reading challenge is so popular with families, but what a pity no-one goes to the board games event. Is the message getting out to people - it just needs a few to get it started, doesn't it. What games on available?

Good morning, having to catch up the posts! We had pouring rain all day long yesterday, it was forecast today but up to now it is dry, very windy though.

Gem, the centre I do coffee at have a board games afternoon, it is always very busy. Plant, I hope you enjoy your games today.

Oma, I hope B gets on well with the decorating, we should be getting a renovation next year, I expect when it all done I will have to do some painting, that is if I can still do it myself.

Oma, that is exactly how my mother was, her knees would be killing her, she would still get down, like your mother, on a rolled up towel to scrub the floor. I hope your MIL enjoys her meal and doesn't say too much!

GD1 started her first day at the Lidl yesterday, they are being trained here in the village then the new one near them opens next month.

Daisy, I hope you get the washing dry, I managed to do some shopping and kept dry, I will see what happens later on.

Oma, all the frozen fish products i buy have to cod, and only buy Bird's Eye.
Hope MIL is on her best behaviour for you later.

I got the grass cut while hubby was out.
Sunny but breezy,so i decided to risk washing the towels.
                    Blowing on the line now.
I had a shower while they were washing.

Had a very pleasant morning playing Rummycub in the library. The regulars were a bit taken aback when my friend and I arrived, one table only play with their friends but we were soon sorted to play a game. They only play 4 to a table but at the village hall we will play 4, 5 or 6 to a table . Seem a nice group so I shall go again. I went to do quite a big Waitrose shop, everything put away, only salad for dinner so can catch up on here.

Nanto, I love sea bass so always keep that in the freezer. Salmon is another favourite, often use it for a stir fry.

Daisy, I hope J will be okay tomorrow, how much longer will he have to have the injections.

Oma, I hope your Mil enjoyed her meal out and didn’t embarrass you.

Gemini, what a shame the board games hasn’t taken off at your Library. I think people are quite shy to join a game they don’t know how to play.

I feel I have been fulfilling my services to the elderly today!
This morning I assisted 2 older ladies with the complexities of the library check in and out machine, and reassured one of them who was awaiting a cataratct operation. She hadn't long been widowed so I think she needed someone to chat to as much as anything. Libraries fulfil so many needs, it is terrible that some are being closed down.
This afternoon I picked up my friend T, drove him to buy a new TV and DVD player and contributed to the choosing. Drove him to a cashpoint then home. I stayed for coffee with him, he was so grateful to me and insisted I take bottle of wine for S and I to enjoy

Good news for S today, all clear on her recent chest X ray

Thats fantastic news about S , something to stop worrying about 😁❤️
T would have been very grateful for your help Im sure , it’s not easy choosing a new TV when things are changing so much .

                          Plant
pleased you enjoyed the games afternoon and it’s a nice group ,
I love salmon my DD prefers Sea Bass.

MIL was very good , no loudness no nasty comments , she ate all her meal a Beef roast and declared it delicious
Dropped her off with a cream cake to have later.

Oma, well done to your MIL - she can be good when she chooses.

Gem, it's nice to think several people will go to be tonight feeling better because of you and the help you gave them. I hope T enjoys his new TV. Great news on S's results. xx

Plant, it sounds as though you've had a good day - something to do, but not too much.

Nanto, you did better than me with drying your washing. I did a load of whites and had just pegged the last tea towel out to dry when it started to rain so I had to take them all back in again! Grrr... We had a torrential downpour at lunch-time but when I spoke to DS2 who lives all of 8 miles away, they hadn't had any rain at all!

Lizzie, I hope. your GD1 enjoys her job at Lidls. Is it a holiday job or permanent?

The last few busy days have caught up with me, and I had a nana nap after lunch. It was too wet to take Eva out just then, but I took her after dinner. Just need to portion up some dog food now, then it will be bed-time.

Good morning, it is dull with drizzle at the moment, it managed to stay dry yesterday, well just one shower in the afternoon, it was very windy though. Not the weather one expects for August.

Daisy, GD1 goes to college in September, the job at the Lidl is for evenings etc.

Gem, you did well helping your friend choose a new TV, I needed friends to help me choose! That was my own fault as I can never decide which I want, I must say the one we chose is a very good choice complete with sound bar. Helping the ladies at the library was a nice thing to do. Good news for S, always worrying waiting for results.

Oma, well done to your MIL, like the lady at the centre, she can be good, I even get a smile from the lady now and again!!

A young girl from the village has won the Tour de France for ladies, she has done really well, out local newspaper will be full of the news today.

Plant, you would enjoy the games and the company in the library. I love salmon, I do like smoked mackerel as well, I often use that in the salads. The one I do with beetroot and onions is delicious.

Nanto, you must have a huge freezer, have you any local shops? I am so used to having shops so close.

I have a gym circuit at 11am so may get my bedroom furniture done with bees wax! It make the whole house smell good.

                                Good morning everyone.
It is POURING down and seems to have rained all night . Yesterday was a reasonable day but we are back to the damned rain today.

Oma, if only MIL was always like that!

Lizzie I can imagine that nice smell! Well done to that girl from your village.

Daisy, naps are good for us as we now know!

T and I went to an established independent electrical shop for the TV yesterday. Our John Lewis is no more and Curry's don't help you. It is being delivered and set up on Friday and his old one taken away.
A few things on for me today. Aquafit this morning and hopefully coffee with my friends afterwards. Our hairdresser is coming at 12. This afternoon I must sort out what I intend to take on holiday, then a bone density scan at 6pm. It is at the Nuffield hospital where I will have my knee op in September. They do all the bone density NHS scans there. A couple of miles down the road and easy free parking - you just enter your car registration at the desk. Much better than the big hospital.
