    Good morning everyone.

Sun shining here too Nan2. A little breezy too.

A busy day here. Library this morning. I only intend to do an hour or so today. Then the knee specialist this afternoon followed by collecting GS1 from school. The hospital is conveniently 2 or 3 minutes drive from his school! This afternoon GS is going to try a youth club some of his school friends go to. I am to give him an early tea then drop him there for 5.30. DD will collect him.
Tuesday golf for OH and the monthly committee meeting at the club house later.

I am planning to go to the tip today, the recycling boxes are overflowing with card and paper.
We had a laugh yesterday, H was pushing a large teddy around in a very small dolls pushchair when her mother face timed my DD, she took the phone off DD, put it in the pushchair and pushed it around. Luckily she is fine when they face time, strange thing is she doesn’t say mummy when she sees her on the phone. H is at childminders today so DD and Sil can catch up and have a rest.

Nanto, the sun is not shining here.

Gemini, sounds like a lovely break, the house looks very nice.

Since we lost the hot weather, I am finding it very chilly, colder indoors than out.

              Good Tuesday morning, everyone.

It was showery when I set off for a long walk with Eva, but then the sun came out, now it's showery again.

Oma, congratulations to your DD and SIL on their Silver Wedding Anniversary. What a pity though that their plans are on hold for such a sad reason. Not too much work on the flat, then. I'm sure it will look very nice though, and new worktops and flooring will be great.

Plant, H is such a little character, isn't she. I'm sure she keeps you all amused. I wonder why she doesn't say 'Mummy' on Face Time. I bet DD and SIL are enjoying their day 'off', much as they love little H.

Gem, a busy day for you. I hope the appointment goes well. It would be lovely if GS1 does enjoy the youth club with his friends. It's good to have some new interests.

I'm pleased to hear C is doing well - the chemo can't have been pleasant. I know RT isn't pleasant either, but she can at least count the days off, and hopefully it won't make her feel too tired. Give her best wishes from all us grannies.

Good morning to you and your little friend, Nanto. Dinner sounds just right for a showery day like today.

Oma, a bit of a sad time for SIL, but will still wish them Happy Anniversary.

One of our SIL's is back on chemo and say its possible she won't see next year.
That's what the family meal was for Saturday.
Not all family came because this SIL said some very nasty things about Dad when he died.
Another sis in law broke her foot yesterday while out walking the dog.

I thought it was going to rain earlier so got the towels in,but they were dry.
Didn't get any rain after all.

Gem, hope GS enjoys the youth club.

Nan2 how sad about your SIL. I wish her all the best.

I have booked myself in for a total knee replacement on September 19th. So I can have my family holiday to Portugal and hopefully meet up with some of you ladies in early September!

GS's friends dad has said I can drop him at their house so GS can walk down to the club with them as it is his first time. That's very kind of them. This is the boy GS refers to as his Frenemy!!

Oma I could have it sooner if it wasn't for holidays etc.
Its great, but not so great that NHS patients have to wait so long .

Well hello again ladies! I’ve been absent so long I’d nearly forgotten how things work here!

As most of you know I’ve had six months of Chemotherapy which wasn’t exactly a walk in the park so I’ve only just got round to feeling nearly normal (or as normal as I’ll ever be)😀The Chemo wasn’t a cure but will hopefully push things back a bit.

How is everybody? All plodding along as usual I hope. If anyone has had any bereavements or serious problems I really hope things feel better really soon.

My family is mostly doing well though GD was diagnosed with hypothyroidism recently. In fact the doctor said he didn’t know how she was even functioning with her level of thyroid hormone! Obviously she is now on medication which is still being monitored to find the right dose. She had really thrown herself into life at University that we initially thought that was why she was so tired.
GS (Aspergers) sat A levels so finger’s crossed he passes. He wasn’t too confident and “didn’t want to talk about it” which is his favourite phrase when things don’t go right.

                        I’ll try to be a

Oma, your GS is going to have a very smart clean flat to live in.

Gemini, I take it that you have decided to pay to get your knee fixed, you have put up with the pain for so long. I hope that will help the back pain. What a lovely offer from the parent of GS’s friend, I do hope GS1 enjoys it.

We are having a very dull, slightly wet and cold day. I went to the tip this morning and now I am watching tennis. I have had to put a heater on for a bit to get warm, I do feel the cold these days. H has been at child minders today, I expect GD is fetching her, I will pop in to see her in a bit, I. Expect her mum will face time again. H looks as it she has been in a fight, she has a black eye from running into her Papa’s elbow last week.

Nanto, I don’t think I use my slow cooker correctly. Is is poss for you to talk me through how you would cook a chicken casserole. For instance do you brown the meat first and when do you put the veg in. My book says to not open the lid at all until it is done. How long would you cook it for. Hope you don’t mind me picking your brains but you are the Queen of the slow cooker. I have a large slow cooker which you can use on the hob and oven, it has a non-stick lining. It is a Crock Pot.

Daisy, I hope you have had a good day, mainly indoors today.

Nanto, I'm sorry to hear the sad new about your SIL - butI hope she will defy the odds. I hope the other SIL's foot mends quickly. Is it toe(s) or elsewhere?

Gem, I'm glad you've got a date booked for your knee replacement. You've suffered with it so long and I'm sure you will soon be running round like a spring chicken. How kind of GS's frenemy's Dad to take him to the youth club today. It's hard to go into a new place all on your own.

Clover, it's wonderful to catch up with you, and I'm so pleased that you're feeling up to posting. I'm sure your family has done a good job of looking after you, although I know your DD lives a long distance away. Thank goodness your GD's hypothyroidism has been diagnosed. Hopefully once she has the correct medication she will soon feel her energy and normal zest for life returning. Has she been able to continue with her studies ok?

Everything crossed for your GS's 'A' Level results. It's a tense time waiting for them, isn't it. My GS2 and Oma's GS1 are also waiting for results. I'm sure nails will be bitten. Has your GS decided what he wants to do? Mine is hoping to get an apprenticeship in IT - he doesn't want to go to Uni.

Plant, will H be tired after being at the child minder's? Hopefully DD and SIL have had a chance to recover a little. It's none too warm here either. It rained for a while when I was out with Eva but in the last hour it's been raining properly, and the clouds look very heavy. Oh dear, I'd forgotten I've left washing out again! .

I seem to have been quite busy without achieving much, but I did take the big Dyson vacuum cleaner apart to clean it, and even managed to put it back together again!

                              Off to get dinner now.

Just popped in to read some posts and find our dear friend Clover had left a message, lovely to hear from her again. Clover, I hope that the medics can sort out the right dose of medication for your GD soon.

Daisy, I have just been next door to see H and far from being tired she was playing chase with her Papa. Her parents faced timed but she wasn’t at all interested as Coco Melon was on the television. They were having a storm in Dominican Republic and we kept getting cut off.

Watched tennis and very pleased that Andy won his first match.
