Well it felt like a cafe in our house this afternoon!
our friend H called in to borrow some rope to tie something onto her roof rack. Her OH and brother were with her and all stayed for a drink.
As they were leaving GS1 was dropped off by his dad and granny. Granny lives in Scotland and we hadn't seen her for ages so asked them in for a drink ( If it was just SIL he wouldn't have got over the doorstep!)

Glamm, I'm so pleased to hear you're feeling less lonely and your little friend is helping. It's amazing how people stop and chat when you've got a dog. There are people I only know by their dog's name, but always stop and pass the time of day. How lovely spending some time with your newest GGS. He'll soon grow into - and out of - his clothes I'm sure, but he sounds very sweet. Poor Jim, hopefully he will enjoy the soup.

Lizzie, how kind of the place where you volunteer to organise a get together for the helpers. I didn't hear the interview with Tony Blackburn but it's hard to believe he's 80! Mimi, what a good memory, knowing the date Radio 1 launched. I totally agree about BBC radio losing its way. I listen to UK Gold, Wave FM or Classic FM these days. (I think Wave FM has changed its name, but it's still broadcasting).

My OH had a Roberts radio for his 21st birthday present, and it had the most amazing 'extra' - a socket so you could plug it in to the car! We thought we were the bees knees with that!

Oma, I can imagine the fur flying round! Very nice to see everyone though.

Nanto, you had a busy day, too.

Gem, I'm sure GS1 was pleased to see his other granny and it was kind of you to ask them in for a drink.

We had a very, very cold walk this afternoon. There were 10 or 12 dogs there, including one newbie, who managed to set off 4 of the other dogs barking like mad! Eva was a bit wary, but mostly ignored the newcomer. There were two dogs from our class and we mainly walked with them. I was quite glad to get back to the warmth of the car though! I got one load of washing done, but other than making dinner I've had a lazy day.

Good morning. Snow has nearly gone, just a few patches in the garden.

          Daisy,you deserve a lazy day.

Doing a roast beef dinner today. Joint is in the slow cooker.

I think today will be a go with the flow kind of day.

            Good morning everyone.

            All snow gone here Nan2.

I bet you were glad to get back into the car Daisy, roll on spring!
"Gem, I'm sure GS1 was pleased to see his other granny and it was kind of you to ask them in for a drink." It was actually OH who asked them in. I was a bit taken aback to be honest! I would have definitely asked the other Granny on her own in but didn't want to ask SIL, so wasn't planning on it, in but it was taken out of my hands! It was nice to see her anyway.

I will update on the YEO thread.

GS1 is noisily chatting and laughing online with 2 boys for his class. I wonder if GS3 will be as loud as both his male cousins??
I think DD will be here around 2pm to pick him up. Our friend SS is coming late afternoon to eat with us.

            Happy Sunday everyone.

All snow gone here, I haven’t poked my nose out so I don’t know if it is cold. This time of the year I am usually tidying the borders, cutting last years Hydrangea flower heads. I did manage one border when we had a fine day a week or two gone. Nothing planned today, GD2 and her partner are here for the weekend, nice to see them. They have gone to an artificial ski slope today as they are going ski-ing next week.

Gemini, We are lucky to be able to see and sometimes help with GC, in my case GGC and also to be near enough to help.

Daisy, that sounds like a very cold walk, did Eva have her blanket on.

Nanto, roast dinner on this miserable day sounds good. Going with the flow sounds good too.

                Morning everyone .

Gem I imagine it was a bit awkward for all of you .
At least his Mother will see your being civil about it all .
Its strange when some days you don’t see anyone then as you say like a Cafe on another day 😁

                Daisy
I bet it was freezing and poor Eva with that noisy dog but she’s doing well isn’t she .
My DD refers to people she meets on her walks as Mollies mum or Barneys daddy , she knows all the dog names but not the owners 😁

                Nanto
All the snow gone hear apart from like yours a few patches in the garden .

A lazy day for us , I don’t intend going anywhere, Towels in the wash and just cleaned bathroom apart from that there wasn’t a lot to do .
B cooked a corn fed chicken in the Ninja last night , we had it with chips and Salad , well B had chips I didn’t ,
Loads left to use today , it’s very tasty.
Hes just taken potato bread out of the oven the house smells amazing of fresh baked bread.

Good morning everyone, cold, damp and dull after the sun yesterday.

Gem, that would be awkward all round I expect. Children can be noisy at times. I know that when there are children in the other pool to us they can be very noisy!!! In fact the school opposite here is being demolished, they are now at another location, it is very quiet here at the moment, there will be more schools being built though.

Oma, the chicken sounds delicious, lucky you!

Daisy, it would be a cold walk, lucky you having music in the car all those years ago!

I got a message from my fysio yesterday asking if I could repair a zip as he hopes to go ski-ing, I have known him for years and he is a good friend, he came with his jacket, I doubt if he will be able to ski though, he had a bad accident last year, fell down the stairs and damaged his knee, he was in hospital a while for operation etc, he can hardly stand and it is very painful whilst walking, he says he hopes to ski, otherwise just enjoy watching DS1 and DIL enjoying themselves. We had a good chat, he and his wife don't live together, strange carry on, she has got 2 dogs in the house and he likes his peace and quiet after a hard days work. His wife is my therapist , I have a good idea how she is, in fact, I know how she is, I can get on with her, plenty can't, she has had a few girls in the practise over they years and they never last long. They still get on well together, eat together, share evenings out etc then he goes back to the peace and quiet of his other house. They did have a 2 year contract for the house, I shortened all the curtains when he moved in, I think he will stay there. He left his jacket here so I mended the zip and repaired where needed.

Good Sunday morning everyone. Just a quick hello from me - visitors dropping in for coffee in a few minutes.

The sun's shining and its 11C!! I hope it dries up enough for some gardening this afternoon. Everything else can wait! As Plant says, we're well into March and there are jobs to be done.

Plant, yes, Eva wore her smart Equafleece coat! Nice and cosy.

Lizzie, you are so handy with your needle/sewing machine! I knew a couple like that. They lived next door to each other socialised and ate together but couldn't share a house.

Oma, that potato bread sounds lovely - I've never made it though. Is it easy? There are people I talk to when out with Eva and I do't even know their dog's name. They end up being called "jumpy boxer's dad", barky dog's parents, etc!

Gem, it was probably the right thing for OH to do, especially for GS's sake, although I'm sure you felt a bit awkward. Welcome to the world of boys! They're always noisy, but great fun, bless them.

Nanto, roast Sunday dinner - yummy! Love the butterfly graphic. x

                    I'll pop back later. x

Morning all No snow here and dare I say it..... the sun is shining and it feels a little warmer outside OH is in the garden at the moment having a 'Potter about ' Last time I looked outside he was busy studying the garden fence, no doubt the paint brush will be out soon.

Not a lot planned for today , just going to cook a light lunch and read a book. OH has ordered me to relax!

Oma how are you getting on with the air fryer. We don't have enough space on work tops for us to buy one . The chicken sounds delicious.

Lizzie I am completely hopeless with a needle and thread and as for replacing a new zip ! I would be the sort of person who would just buy a new jacket. Not very environmentally friendly I know.

                      Have a good day everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi we love it , It can do anything in fact the oven doesn’t get as much use as it did ,
Only thing is it’s extremely heavy to move , B has to lift it for me to clean under it’s a bit of a beast 😁
we have several Ninja appliances and they are heavy too , the kettle isn’t it’s nice and lightweight .

As long as the fence keeps Hubby busy and gives you peace let him paint away 😁

                        Daisy
Apparently it’s easy to make , B boiled the potatoes and mashed them up last night ready for this morning ,
I think it’s a case of just incorporating them into the flour ,
You wouldn’t think it but it makes amazingly light fluffy bread .
He said it takes a little bit more kneading but not much.

                        Lizzie
You are kind doing all those alterations etc 😁

                        Plant
just read dog was unwell ,poor thing but again more worry and expense for GD , ibet SIL footed the bill this time 😁

As soon as D1 and GD2 heard it was a roast beef dinner, they came and joined us.
We has sticky toffee pudding and custard for afters.

Mimi, i love the air fryer as well.
You can also do things in it that you wouldn't/couldn't do in the oven.

Nan2 I'm sure your family enjoyed that dinner!

Mimi your sewing skills sound like mine

Did you get any gardening done Daisy?

DD, GS and our friend all gone home now. Time to put our feet up and enjoy the Dancing on Ice final.
