We had an unexpected gift today - a large box of plums. OH, bless him, has spent most of the day making plum jam - 13 jars! But it's a good colour and seems to have set ok. It took him ages to take the pits out as they were quite small, but they are sweet and juicy so I suppose it's the dry weather that has held them back a bit.

Plant - Have you rehomed all your plums yet?

Gem - so glad you've had a good day, but I bet you're tired now.

Good morning, I love plums, I know DS2 has a tree full but they are away at the moment, I phoned my brother yesterday and he was saying he has so much fruit, I expected that as they have a lovely orchard, there was a massive fig tree , full of fruit whilst I was there, they aren't sure what to do with the fruit so they are looking into it today.

Gem, you did look lovely on the photo, like Oma I love the dress.

I met a woman I know whilst out for a walk last night, I have known her and her DH for years, he used to repair cycles etc but has eye trouble and had to stop doing that. If I met her we always had a chat, apparently we haven't bumped into each other since January 1st as her DH took an overdose in the garage where he did all his repairs. She found him, he was in the hospital for 2 months, they told them he almost succeeded, his brain is damaged etc. After the hospital he went to a special unit in Rotterdam and is still there, they hope he can get placed in a home nearer to here but as he did what he did most places won't have him, strange, he wasn't born with the brain damage. I hope they do find somewhere closer then it would be easier for the friend to get to visit.

            Good morning everyone.

Nan2 that little gardening cat looks happy .

Lizzie, I hope they manage to find somewhere closer for your friend's husband.

Thank you for the kind words about the dress ladies Oma, I have had so many compliments on the dress I was wearing, ever since I first bought it! It was from a shop you and I like, Roman Originals. Very easy to wear and dries almost as soon as it goes on the washing line!

A free day today, but I think our friends who have been on holiday may be coming round at some point for a catch up.

Have a good Saturday and weekend ladies.

Apart from a few Victorias the plums are now all gone, some on the floor for the deer and some rotted on the tree. Speaking of deer, I watched a lovely rusty coloured quite large deer helping him/her self to an apple from a small cooking apple tree in the garden yesterday. This is the apple tree I usually get my cooking apples from but it has suffered badly from the heat and the leaves are all brown and the apples quite small. I am going to see the specialist about my psoriasis this morning, DD is taking me. Let’s hope she has a magic potion. I will pop back later.

Good Saturday morning everyone. It's a beautiful day here - nice and sunny.

Nanto - we could do with a day on the garden - lots of jobs to do after the recent scorching heat. Have fun and I'm sure your garden will look lovely.

Lizzie - how sad about your friend's husband. It must be so hard for her and any family they've got.

Gem - I love that dress too. It looks great on you, and I do like the shoes with it as well. Isn't it lovely when you find something that ticks all the boxes.

We're going to DS1 and DIL's today. Nothing in particular - just to see them, and catch up. We're going to go fairly soon, hopefully to miss the worst of the traffic, although with another train strike today I'm not sure how that will work.

Have a good day, everyone. x

Lizzie, roasted figs are divine! My friend does this and they keep for ages. The squirrel has had most of mine.😏
Got to nip to shops before Mr Amazon calls.
Gem is the lovely dress etc. on a thread here? Have I missed it?

Daisy, the couple have a son and a daughter, but, the lady herself had a stroke a few years ago now and it has left her blind in one eye, she is only 60 years old as well.

GM, I have never heard of that about figs, I will tell DS2 about that!

I have been for my eggs, veg etc and bought apples on the way. The man had just cut lettuce, cauli etc so it is all very fresh.

                        Morning ladies

                        Lizzie
figs are hard to come by here at the moment and when you do find them they are very expensive ,
I like roasted figs too , I like them anyway except when roasted with blue cheese in them i don’t like blue cheese .

Poor Man how he must have been suffering mentally to want to do that , so sad .

                        Daisy
Enjoy your day with DS , how is he at the moment ?

GS came for his Breakfast yesterday , he is going to Leeds festival next week and needed a back pack and some bits
He left here costing us a fortune again 😁

                        Plant
Hope the Dr can help this time , I did read somewhere it’s difficult to treat , I hope that isn’t the case with you xx

                        Nanto
Are you planting anything or is it just general garden maintenance?

I did a couple of loads of washing this morning
We then went to B&M for a few bits and Lidl for Burger buns ,
B Fancies Burgers for tea , Im not a great lover of burgers but I will eat them occasionally .

Nothing else planned so just pottering .

Oma, I was wrong that dress was Bon Marche! I checked the label when hanging it on the washing line. I have bought several things online from both shops this year

Gemini, I haven’t looked at Bon Marche for years, must have a look. I think I am too fat for dresses. I have bought a skirt with an overblouse for the wedding, it is blue and I bought it from Hobbs. I think I have already said that I thought your dress and shoes were very nice and suited you.

Daisy, enjoy your day with your DS1 and his family and hope the traffic isn’t too heavy for your trip.

Oma, I find myself dipping into my pocket for the grandchildren, they are so kind to me.

Visit to the clinic about the psoriasis went well, liked the specialist and I think she might be able to help me. I was asked if any of the tablets I take had been changed in the past year and the only one that was changed about a year ago was the blood thinner instead of warfarin, I have to check the date. I also have to make an appt to have a bi-op done which is going to cost me £500 and some light treatment.

I love cooked figs, when we were in France a couple of years ago, there were some fig trees in the garden, they were huge and delicious. We have a fig tree but we should have restricted its roots, it is huge now. We have the little figs on there but they don’t develop. The squirrels eat them. Must plant another one.

You are not too fat for dresses Plant! You are fine and will look lovely in whatever you choose.
I'm glad the clinic visit went well.

Our friends came for coffee this morning and brought M&S shortbread, very nice!

Good Morning ladies, very cool here today with a slight wind so washing drying nicely on the line since 7am will get it ironed tomorrow morning.

I've had my hair cut to my shoulder blades a good 5ins off and had my fringe trimmed the girl in the salon has just qualified and she made such a good job it feels so much better my hair was quite thin on the ends so all nice and tidy now for the next few months.

This week has been quiet here I have had a few visitors though and sat in the back garden most afternoons except when I took DGS3 & his partner for their 1st baby scan on Tuesday.
Next week I am taking DGS3's partner to Liverpool Womens to buy some matinee coats which are all hand knitted in traditional designs by the ladies who support the new born appeal run by Jan Walton mum of the sextuplets she raises so much money for the neonatal unit with the help of her lovely knitters.

Enjoy the week-end lovely people I am off out to meet my friend for coffee & cake so will catch up soon xx
