Nice sunny afternoon here, but cooler than recent days.

I hope you enjoyed the puzzles Grauntie. I am going to do Wordle and Quordle next. I do them in the morning if I can, but if not , when I have time.

Oma that retouch spray is good.

Lunch then cards games sounds good Plant.

    I think I need a wardrobe sort out Nan2.

Snakes and ladders can be very frustrating Daisy! I hope GD2 enjoys the circus.

I had a good workout at aqua, and coffee with my friend after we finished. I was sad to hear she has been diagnosed with Parkinson's, which I did suspect but hadn't mentioned it to her of course. I reassured her that my dad had it for 10 years before I knew (and saw him every week) as my parents chose not to tell the family.

I have nice sparkly blue nails now (Mermaids tears is the colour!)

Hallo everyone, breakfast at Ikea, a regular thing we did when the GC were here, it cost €1 at the time, I have no idea what it costs now. I have just looked, 99 cent for a very simple one and €2,99 for a good one.

I just went to the village on the bike to pick my shoe up, I must say he is very good! He even explained how it worked on his machine! I was almost there and realised I hadn't my keys, had I lost them along the way or left them in the garage door? I sped home, looking all along the way for my keys, got to my street and my garage is wide open, I had forgotten to close it, the keys were still in it.

I may have a walk to the village now if the rain isn't too bad, I have sorted through drawers etc this morning, I have a coffee table (chest) in here with 12 drawers, very handy to put things in, now all sorted out and half of them are empty. A few memories and tears along the way, that is how I am at the moment. I have found an old iPhone, GD2 used it when she was here and went to the Lidl for me, then she could keep in touch, I am charging it up so there will be tears again when I see the photo's etc.

Oma, I hope they can sort your hair loss out for you.

I know what you mean about snakes and ladders Daisy, almost there and there is the snake waiting for you!! I often compare my life to that game, almost there and down I go again! Very cheerful today!!!

Had a lovely morning at WI, we had a ploughman lunch followed by ice cream. The committee are so good to do this for us. I came home and later went to the village hall to see what the games afternoon was like. There were only 5 people there playing a game. It is going very slowly to get it set up. We have a lovely large well kept village hall, it needs to be used more. The same ladies are going to re-start the mother and toddler group, might interest GD1.

Pleased to hear B enjoyed his breakfast Oma, that is one way to make him happy to go to Ikea.

Daisy, is your GD1 continuing to feel stronger?

We have had a lovely fresher day, no storm or rain for us.

Glamm, I hope you DD enjoys her change of career. I hope you get your free day to yourself tomorrow but it is always lovely to see family.

Awww, Lizzie, these happy memories can bring tears. Are you still feeling tearful generally?

Plant, I think a lot of things are slow to restart after the pandemic especially amongst older groups.

Glamma, visitors are lovely, but sometimes we need day to ourselves!

                Good morning everyone.

Hairdresser coming this morning, plus a locksmith! The conservatory door has been erratic for some time. Sometimes we can't lock it, other times we can't unlock it.

DD3 and baby are coming later. SIL too presumably, although I would like him to have some free time to do whatever he likes while DD is with me. They will be in town for an appointment, so I encouraged them come here for a change of scene. I will update on the baby thread in time, it's all much of the same at the moment!

                Happy Wednesday to all.

Gem, a change of scenery will hopefully be good for DD.

Good morning everyone. Nanto, it's a bit cooler here as well, and there are some dark clouds.

Lizzie - photos can bring back all sorts of emotions, can't they. I agree about snakes and ladders often mirroring real life. The GDs and I had more than our fair share of snakes yesterday, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that real life didn't notice! What a scare, thinking you'd lost your keys. I'm glad everything was ok.

Oma - I hope MIL is in a good mood for you today. What a difference an IKEA breakfast can make to a man! Did you get what you wanted? (Sorry if I've missed that in a post.)

Plant - what a pity the village hall isn't used more. Ours is very busy with everything from indoor bowls, badminton, play group, bridge, various meetings and even a small charity shop.

Gem - your nails sounds a very pretty colour. Temperamental locks are a worry, so good to get it fixed. Glad you enjoyed aqua yesterday, but what a pity about your friend's diagnosis. I'll catch up with your 'rollercoaster' thread. xx

Glamm - best of luck to your DD in her new career. I'm sure she will love it and do very well. You must be very proud of her.

I'm meeting old college friends for lunch today. I'm picking up a friend who lives just round the corner, so we'll be able to catch up with all her news on the way there - she's had two holidays and visitors since we last got together, so lots to catch up on.

OH has wood turning club tonight, so we'll be a bit like the weather couple - one in, one out!

                      Have a good Thursday everyone.

Good morning, I have had a busy morning, DS1 came with the carpenter friend of his to bring a cupboard to be stored in my shed, DIL will be very pleased as it has been stood in the hall 2 years waiting to come here! Then friends came, his eldest son is getting married on September 2nd, I have altered trousers for DS3, he is so thin it was very difficult to get anything to fit him. They have just returned from 3 weeks in Thailand, they loved it!

DS2 has just sent me a message, they have flown to Greece this morning, Lesbos, DIL was ill for a few days but luckily felt well enough to fly, the flight went well and they were on their way to the hotel.

Oma, when you mentioned breakfast at the Ikea I asked the girls if they fancy going for lunch on Monday, it is the last day of their holidays, a bit last minute but I hadn't thought of it before, DS1 said they would love to go.

Gem, I know of a few people with parkinson, one lady I know well, she used to be so active, walking, triathlon etc etc, when she first told me she couldn't believe it, but, the good thing is with her medicine and being very active, she is as well, she has no further symptoms, the DH of a friend was diagnosed as well, 45 years young, the same story, there is a parkinson clinic in one of the sport schools in the village and she goes to boxing etc and is coping really well.

Daisy, enjoy your lunch and chat with your friends.

We had a drop of rain in the night and are forecast a sunny day today. Daisy our hall has three rooms 2 kitchens, a stage a large storage room behind the stage so although it is used for Pilates, Badminton, bowls, meetings in the small room, childrens parties, family gatherings etc. it is still empty a lot of the time. The trustees keep it in very good order. The lady who runs the office part time is anxious that it is used a lot more.

Daisy, enjoy your lunch with your friends, you are social butterflies atm.

Oma, hope Mil enjoys her food and is in a happy mood. Does she get out apart from when you take her shopping?

Gemini, I hope your DD will spend some time with you, a change of scene might help things. I haven’t painted my nails for ages, With the wedding coming in Sept. I would like to find a colour to complement my outfit, might book an appt to have them done. My outfit is blue. I feel more like wearing long gloves to cover up the psoriasis on my hands and arms.

MIL was quite cheerful today ,
while we were there M&C turned up with Finley so we got more cuddles

She left the Fish in Parsley sauce out with new potatoes for her tea the rest we put in the freezer

                            Plant ,
she does go to the local shop and if she doesn’t want to go shopping with us she will get a Taxi up when she’s ready to go ,
She went to the town centre last week to get new glasses , she can’t walk far but manages a lot better than most her age .

                            Lizzie
The Breakfast in IKEA here is small £1:25 large £3 including a drink so can’t argue with that can you 😁
Im sure your girls would love to go ,
I bet your DIL is pleased her hall is free of the cupboard now 😂

                            Plant
It’s so difficult to cover up when you have something like psoriasis and it’s warm , maybe a lace sleeved bolero top may help
The village hall sounds quite large , it would be a shame if it wasn’t used to it’s full potential wouldn’t it .
Did you see baby H yesterday ?

                            Daisy
Enjoy your lunch and catch up ,
Will you be having a cheeky glass of wine or two 😂

One of my sisters in law rang this morning, and we had a lovely catch up.

Weather warmed up a bit,but not too warm.

Oma,glad MIL was quite cheerful. A bonus for you, havinf extra cuddles with Finley.

Nanto - it's lovely when you get an unexpected call like that and enjoy having a gossip.

Oma -no wine, just water as I was driving. But we had a lovely time - there were 7 of us putting the world to rights, and of course discussing the A Level results which came out today! Good to hear MIL was ok.

Plant - one of the events that drew capacity crowds at our VH before the pandemic was Moviola cinema. The films were all relatively new and it was very popular. I do't know if it will start again though.

Lizzie, hopefully the holiday will do your DIL good. I'm glad she was well enough to travel.

GD2 enjoyed the circus last night, but was very tired after such a busy day.
