    Hello again.
It's very hot here too. I was planning to do a supermarket shop, but have put in an order instead. I couldn't get a delivery until Thursday morning but we will manage until then.

Plant, GS1 had chips, beans and bread and butter and was happy with that. He confirmed that he isn't keen on veggie lasagne, so that was all there was for him.

Oma, Ikea is challenging on a hot day! GS2 was in our room by 6.40 am! He did go straight to sleep after his bath and stories though, and slept all night.

I hope you feel better today Lizzie. I am having a problem with dairy since my illness. I am avoiding it as much as possible.

Daisy, thanks for merging those threads, I was going to do it later. It is amazing how noisy hedgehogs are! They would certainly appreciate the water.

We had a good day yesterday, pics on FB for those who are on there. Annoyingly all C and P's GC are now as tall or taller than I am!!
We got home just after 6pm, hot, happy and tired! I washed GD and GS2's sandy swimwear and got the towels and picnic rugs on the line. I made sandwiches for all 3 GC for tea. DD1 collected GS1 around 7, then I got GS2 into the bath. DD2 collected them late morning. GS2 is having playdate at his house this afternoon with 4 school friends. He is SO excited!
I will update about DD3 on that thread.

Thanks everyone, I am eating but not everything agrees with me yet! I can live on dairy Gem, I even found an equivalent to our quark whilst looking round Tesco when in the UK!

Lizzie, I don't take milk in drinks and have almond milk on cereal and porridge.
I love cheese though and normally eat a lot of cheese and yogurt to keep my calcium levels up. I need to as the drug I am on depletes calcium. Every time I try more than the smallest amount now it makes me Ill. I am hoping it is just temporary.

Oma, sounds like a nice time out.

We had a visitor, hubby's sister popped in about 5.30 and stayed for an hour.

You would both enjoy that Oma, I was only reading today that Scheveningen (beach) isn't as busy as it usually is because it is all very expensive.

You would enjoy the visitor Nanto.

Oma - I hope it's not the same sickness bug that poor Gem suffered with so badly, but you're wise to stay away until they have both fully recovered. Fish and chips on the beach sounds great, but as you say it's not a cheap meal anymore.

Nanto - that was a big potter round this morning doing all those cupboard doors. How nice to have an unexpected visitor.

Lizzie - I should think the spiralling costs of everything will put a lot of people off going on holiday or even out for the day.

Gem - is it cheese you can't eat at the moment, or ordinary cow's milk? I do hope it's not cheese because I know how you love it.

We had a lovely day with the GDs. GD1 is doing very well. She mentioned once that she was a bit tired, but it was nearly 30C here this afternoon. They enjoyed having lunch out in the garden - I just put loads of things out in dishes so they could help themselves - chips (of course) ham, chorizo, hard boiled eggs, smoked salmon, and lots of salad. They were too full afterwards for strawberries and ice cream! They largely entertain themselves these days, and are both quite chatty, so we often just sit and talk. The dogs played for a while and then found shady spots to have a snooze.

We've spent ages this evening watering wilting plants with a watering can! It takes ages! Poor Eva kept looking at the hosepipe, hoping we were going to play with her. I don't think we could claim exemption from the hosepipe ban on account of canine enrichment. (She loves chasing spouts of water, and as she hates a bath, this is how we bath her!)

                      Sunny again.

Daisy,i'm not surprised GD1 felt tired, especially with the heat.
Forecast is cooler weather after sunday.
It takes us ages to water if we use the watering cans.

Don't think we have any big jobs to do, so thats a relief in this weather.

                        Nanto
it’s a big job doing all the cupboard doors especially when you have a big kitchen , mine is only tiny but still wears me out ,
                        Have a rest today .

                        Daisy

I have a dark wash on mostly underwear but once that’s done it’s a lazy day
I can’t be bothered to do anything to be honest
So just call me Lazy Lucy today 😁

                          Good morning everyone.

Daisy, it's so good to hear about your GD1 feeling so much better.

Nan2, anything big is best avoided in this weather isn't it?

Be careful with heavy watering cans, those affected by the ban.
OH uses the hosepipe every day for tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers in the greenhouse. It would be really hard work with a watering can if we have a ban here.

Full day today. Aqua aerobics followed by coffee with my aqua friend, only one friend as the other is on holiday.
As far as I know I am going to DD3's this afternoon.

Finally out to eat tonight with my 2 ex work friends I was meant to eat out with in June! Once I was up to eating out, one of them was on holiday. Eventually we fixed a date though.

It looks like a hot day for most of us, so take care and keep cool 😎

Good morning, I have been for a bike ride before the heat arrives, I enjoyed it as well.

Oma, I was in bed at 9-30pm, a strange thing happened! I leave part of the curtains open let the breeze through, I have a wardrobe opposite the window with a huge mirror in, I turned over in my sleep and thought someone was shining a bright torch into my bedroom, it was full moon reflecting in the mirror.

I bet the lady was shocked as well Oma, what a price for snacks.!!

I was lucky enough to get a Lidl box for this afternoon, it will be mostly fruit I think, it usually is in the summer months.

Gem, enjoy your aqua and your meal out.

I didn't feel like going to the gym yesterday morning, tired and I knew I had to go about those aids so took my time to shower etc, I went this morning and they didn't ask where I was, no wonder, it opens at 6-30a.m, the young man that is there on a Tuesday is on holiday and the one that was supposed to be there at 6-30 had forgotten to set his alarm so it was 8am when he got there, that is why I wasn't missed!

Daisy, it does sound as though your GD is improving, hopefully it stays that way.xx

Hello everyone. It's another hot day for us, it's 27C at the moment and still rising. I took Eva out about 8.30 and by the time we got home we were both looking to walk in the shade! OH has been down to the village for a few bits and pieces and said it was fairly quiet - I bet everyone is on the beach!

Oma - that fresh sea air certainly did you good, even if the price of fish and chips was a shock. It's almost impossible to have a cheap day out these days with youngsters. How can you say 'no' to ice creams, etc.

Gem - I do hope you don't get a hosepipe ban. It will certainly be hard to keep your greenhouse watered in this weather. We'll have to water the new plants in our front garden tonight - several are looking very droopy. I'm finding it easier to use a smaller watering can. It means more journeys to the tap, but it's easier to reach plants at the back of the border which are awkward to get to. I hope DD3 is feeling better today - I'm sure she'll be so pleased to see you. x

Lizzie - how strange that moonlight must have seemed. Light can play funny tricks on us, can't it. What a good job you didn't get up early yesterday to go to the gym. I bet the young man was very embarrassed at being so late!

Plant - I hope you caught up on your rest yesterday.

I hope Enfys is ok. It's bound to be a sad time for her (P's anniversary) - it's never easy.

                              Take care everyone.

Lizzie what a shock the moonlight must have given you!

Oh poor Enfys, Daisy. That must be a sad day. Try to keep as cool as you can.

I'm not going to see DD3 today. The pain and engorgement is worse and she had booked a private consultation with a breastfeeding counsellor at midday . They have just left there and on the way to the doctor as the counsellor said the breast should not be that bad and it needs seeing again (which is what I said this morning) So, they are on their way to the Dr now. Heaven knows how long that may take, and as I am meeting my friends at 7, it probably won't work well to go over today. I am busy tomorrow but can go Friday or Saturday so we shall see. Poor DD
