Hello ladies, its been a busy week for me I am still packing and unpacking holidays stuff DD commented that I had far too much and would not wear half of it but I'm a "just in case" sort of girl tbh I have emptied the case again this morning and started from scratch again.

On Monday I had the rear garden hedges separating me from neighbours both side cut down neatly by the HA gardeners when they had left I found they had accidently cut through the rotary driers line so all the tension had gone on all the rest of the rotary,it is the only outside drying that I have my next door neighbour has lines across her garden but my garden is not as big as hers hence the "worly gig" Argos delivered me a new one yesterday and I have put it up with no problems I didn't want to complain to the HA and get the gardener into trouble I know they would have paid for a new one but it was an accident.

Daisy tonight The Rolling Stones are at Anfield for a concert and Mick Jagger has been spotted in Liverpool by the Cavern and down by the Ferry Terminal I wonder if he will take a trip across The River.? Its 60yrs since they last played in Lpool.

Thanks so much admin for the ecard today it was a lovely surprise to wake up to.

Off now to my bedroom to resume sorting holiday stuff I may pop in later xxx

Plant -The squirrels who think our garden is their local restaurant tend to go to the bird feeders, but I did notice a lot of small birds on one of our roses a couple of weeks ago - they were eating the whitefly. I don't suppose squirrels would do that though. Your poor SIL - not the best start to his retirement. Two weeks seems a long time to wait for the MRI results. What kind of dog did the gardener have?

Lizzie - what an amazing bargain those clematis were. Denim is such a useful fabric, isn't it. How good to hear that you are knitting again without your hands hurting.

Oma - I almost ducked under the desk reading about the archery. It was sensible to rest rather than overtire yourself at the evening entertainment.

Gem - I'm sure DD3's move will go like clockwork, and it sounds as though everyone will be helping. I bet she can't wait. How was your mum? I'm gradually ticking off the To Do list for the party. I ordered drinks tonight.

Glamm - I'm sure you have such a lot of lovely outfits to choose from is what makes it harder to pack. I am usually a 'just in case' packer too, but on a couple of occasions I've really had to be disciplined. When our sons were teenagers we did a 3-week trip touring round the SW of the USA. The budget only ran to a small hire car, so packing for 4 was very limited. We each took 3 pairs of shorts, 3 t-shirts, undies & socks, one pair of sandals, and travelled in long trousers, t-shirt and a jumper, plus trainers. There was always somewhere to wash everything, and of course the weather was hot. I've never quite managed that level of packing since. I wonder if Mick Jagger was having a nostalgia trip to the Cavern and the Pier Head? Although the Cavern isn't where it used to be, is it? I bet Anfield has rocked the whole city tonight. It was kind of you not to report the damaged whirly gig - a lot of people would, but as you say it was an accident.

We got the weeding done today. I also mowed the lawn twice. It was a bit wet the first time but dried out this afternoon so I cut it a bit shorter. OH went to see an old pal who had offered to help him fix a problem with some woodturning equipment - whatever it was needed 1,00th of an inch taking off a metal cylinder.

Good morning, Glamm, I usually go to the UK by car, this time I will be a foot passenger and I won't have the opportunity to take everything I usually do, or bring extra back, so, I am going to just take what I need! In fact, when the boys were younger and we visited my parents, we had no car to travel with but I used to buy so much to bring back with us, things we didn't have here, my father used to say the boat would sink!

On another not Daisy, when I went camping?? in Alaska for 4 weeks we were only allowed to take 12 kg with us, that was because of the mini bus we were travelling in. I managed it as well and survived!

I had a lovely lunch with my neighbour, we are very pleased with each other! Really get on well together but don't overdo it if you know what I mean. When I got home I went to the friend in the home, her daughter asked if I would repair some trousers for her so I said I would pick them up, the daughter asked if I could manage a bike ride with her as her mother is always on about it so we went and she really enjoys it, we stopped for a drink and the friend had an ice cream. A busy day for me!

Glamm, the Rolling Stones play here soon but I am not sure when, apparently Mick is often seen in Amsterdam as he has homes there. Bruce Springsteen will be playing in Amsterdam next May or June, tickets cost.......ā‚¬470!!!!! I have a saved ticket from 1988 and it cost 50 gulden!

Daisy, where I cycle with the friend is along a river, very expensive houses with fantastic gardens, lovely to see.

                Good morning everyone.

Glamma, you are nearly ready for your holiday! Kind of you not to mention to cut rotary driver.

Oma, I think you and B need to book another cruise, let the ship do the travelling for you! I'm sure this holiday will have done you good, but you will need rest now to get your energy back xx

Daisy, with all this grass cutting and weeding your garden will be even more of a paradise!

It's lovely that you and your neighbour get along so well Lizzie. That certainly was a busy day for you yesterday.

Mum was a little quiet and down yesterday. We talked about the coming baby, and the Jubilee celebrations and our proposed seaside trip. She is happy when you bring these things up, but her memory is such she cant retain that for any length of time, so the happiness and looking forward doesn't last, if you see what I mean. It was bit sad her not being able to wish me a nice birthday, but she can't remember these things now. Even though her calendar was turned to June by me last week and we looked at the photo for that month together, she knew the Jubilee was in June, as we have talked about that, she cant make that connection in her brain. She can remember clearly the day I was born and often talks about that, but doesn't really remember that anyone has a birthday!

OH and I are going out to breakfast today. Taking the bus into town with our free bus passes!
This afternoon I will collect GD and GS2 as usual, and bring them back here for tea. OH and I will have fish and chips for our tea, which is one of my favourites

Happy Friday ladies, the sun is out where I am.

Good morning. I'm late to the party this morning.
You know how it is,do one job and it leads to another.

Sun is out,but keeps clouding over. Hope it stays fine, got a load of towels out.

Gem, sorry to hear your mum was a bit down.

Oma, love the touristy photo. Have a safe journey home.

Dinner today,is what we were going to have on wednesday.
Cod in breadcrumbs, mash, veggies and parsley sauce.

Gem, my friend is like your mum for dates, no idea at all, she has a special alzeimers clock in her room with the date, time, it even says morning or afternoon on it, she looks at it then as soon as she looks away she doesn't know what she has read! Other things are no bother at all, cycling yesterday she does really well, I would like her in front of me like I used to say to the girls, I realised yesterday she prefers to be behind then just follows me, that makes sense. It was the first time since I have known her that I didn't receive a card on my birthday, she has no idea of dates etc.

                    Oma, love the Mexicans!

Good morning everyone. After popping in here early to wish Gem a happy birthday, I got caught up in Sainsbury's arriving, putting things away and starting to clean a couple of cupboards out. Quick break for a cuppa and now I'm going to start baking - the first two layers of sponge cake for DS1's birthday and some flapjack to take with us to their house on Sunday. I might make some scones as well - see how it goes.

The sun's shining, but I really need to get on with stuff indoors.

Gem - what a pity your Mum was feeling a bit low. Do you think all the Jubilee celebrations exhausted her? She would be so sad if she realised she'd forgotten about your birthday. Enjoy your breakfast out. Have you got a cake for tea with the GCs? I'm sure they'll want to sing Happy Birthday. Fish and chips sound great - enjoy. xx

Lizzie - I hadn't heard of special alzheimers clocks - what a good idea. It's wonderful that your friend can still enjoy her cycle rides, and I can understand her wanting to cycle behind rather than in front of you. Only taking 12 kg for 4 weeks camping in Alaska is very impressive. I'd need all 12 kg each day just to keep warm, I'm sure.

Oma - safe journey home. Gem's right - you need to get your energy back. It's surprising how long the after-effects can last. Yes, thanks, OH got the turning thing sorted. The friend is an engineer with 4 sheds of lathes (metal not wood) and all sorts of stuff, and is a specialist in making parts for motor bikes. He's got 13 of his own! Love the photos of the Mexican amigos!

Nanto - what a pretty graphic. I've never quite lost a childhood fascination with fairies and love pictures of them! I find one job leads to another - and I can end up with a string of half-done jobs!! I'm sure you are better organised.

I'm off to the kitchen. I'll bring some goodies back with me later.

Gemini, lovely that your mum remembers the day you were born. enjoy your trip into town and your fish and chips. Have a lovely Birthday.

Lizzie, your friend is lucky to have a friend like you to get out for a cycle ride.

Sun shining here too Nanto, we are forecast a sunny week, I hope they are right.

Daisy, you asked what sort of dog the gardener had. Well Sil and I thought it was a smooth coated retriever. It had the face of a retriever, it was a lovely rusty colour. It was so friendly, I hope he brings it if he is going to cut the hedges. We have yards and yards of hedges so it will be very expensive. Sil has a nephew who is 16 and he is going to do the grass.

                          Nanto, dinner sounds good

Towels were washed, dried, ironed and put away.
                              Other jobs done.
We had an hour down at the bungalow, had a good natter.
And the sun has shone all day. Was quite breezy earlier, but its calmed down a bit now.

                              Welcome home Oma.
