I am the same Oma, I need a phone that does what I want it to, all the other things I leave to the young ones! Your MIL will enjoy a lunch, no matter what day it is.

I have just cycled home from the pool, it was so warm!

      Hello again.
We had a very nice time. Lovely swim and laze about in the jacuzzi in the morning, then we showered, dressed and had a cup of tea. Then a bit of a walk around the grounds as the weather was warm and sunny by then. Then back inside for our afternoon tea for lunch! It was lovely. It came with prosecco, so we had a glass of that first, then tea with our food. Each couple brought home box of cakes as there were far too many to eat

Oma does MIL like her nails doing or anything you could get her a voucher for?
I'm glad you hand s healing Plant, although slowly. You will get there!
Mild here too now Lizzie after a very cold start!

Refreshed and tired at the same time Oma

Does she do crosswords or puzzles Oma? A puzzle book??
My DDs when stuck sometimes gave my mum an M&S voucher. Then you have food and drink to choose as well as clothes, jewellery etc. Mum would get nice food she may not usually treat herself to.

I love the cheery graphic, Nanto.

Lizzie - how kind of your friend to give you his phone. I think a lot of people will have problems when the Visa online payments systems change in April. (I'll start a separate thread about it, in case people wonder what on earth we're talking about!) I hope you can find out what's causing the nose bleeds.

Plant - did you choose bowls or sunshine? I know what you mean about one job leading to another.

Gem - I hope you've had a wonderful spa day. Glad the Amanda Owen talk was interesting, too.

Oma - really difficult to know what to get your MIL. Perhaps going somewhere on Monday is the best idea. You could put something in her card about where you're going to give her something to look forward to.Gem's idea for an M&S voucher might suit her.

I'm feeling very much better, but there's still that pesky red line. So OH took Eva in to the vets. The vet thought she was amazing for her age. Goodness knows what she'd think if she saw Eva tearing round and playing with cooper or Missy! Anyway, she's had her jabs - boosters in 2 or 3 weeks. We collected Cooper's crate for Missy and said a well-distanced 'hello' to GD1.

It was such a lovely day I went straight out into the garden, and managed to get quite a few things planted. I am taking it easy (I can hear the nagging starting!!!!) and relaxed in the summerhouse with coffee and had a rest after lunch. I'm quite pleased with what I've got done today. OH has been stuck indoors working on the sanding/painting.

Daisy, we have so much security for banks, cards, government etc, like Fort Knox! It was kind of the friend to give me his phone.

I am pleased you are slowly improving, take it easy until you feel that you can do more.

I'm glad you can hear our nagging Daisy 😄

DD3 still has a faint line today.

Gem - it seems some people can get positive results for ages. I hope your DD's is clear tomorrow. xx

                      Good morning everyone
Sunshine today, a lot nicer looking morning than yesterday morning when it was all white with frost out there!

Thank you for the good wishes for DD3. I will let you know if she is testing negative today when I hear from her.
GS1 was negative after 5 days, but his mum took about 10 I think.

My usual Tuesday. Library, school pick up, GS1's martial arts class. I will drop my friend C's birthday card off after the library.

                      Have a good day everyone.

Lovely sunshine this morning, it is supposed to be warmer today. Just getting ready to go to bowls yesterday when I had a phone call from GD1, she wasn’t feeling well and so I went down to her flat to look after baby H. I think she is finding it a struggle to work (a job she doesn’t enjoy) and look after a baby and I think she is depressed. I was lucky, I didn’t work when my children were small and when I had my DD very close to my DS (he was only 15 months) I had my Mil close by and I had a cleaner twice a week.
When I looked out of the window this morning there was a beautiful pheasant under the bird feeder eating the droppings.

Gemini, I hope your DD3 will be testing negative today, it does vary. My GS3 is still isolating from the family which is difficult when there are five adults living in not a very large house. I hope you are not too busy at the library today so that you can read your book.

Sunshine and smiles to you too Nanto.

Plant, my days of reading at the library are long gone
That was when I was in charge of recording Track and Trace, and if we had no customers in there wasn't much to do and I could (and did) read).
Once that was over, I stayed on as a regular weekly volunteer. Now I will be given jobs for the whole morning! The difference is that I had to stay the whole time when Track and Tracing. Now on the odd occasion I have done all the jobs there are, I can leave early.

Good morning, ladies. Nanto - we've certainly got the sunshine this morning - it's a beautiful day and after a long winter, even 13C feels balmy!

Gem - your usual busy Tuesday! It's a bonus if you can leave the library early. Will you call in to see your friend C for her birthday? I bet the GCs are getting excited about Florida now. I do hope DD3 is negative. It will be one thing less on your mind. xx

Plant - poor GD1. I do think it's hard on young parents these days. They're pulled in so many different directions. You're a good support to her.

Oma - thank you, I slept like a log and am going to do some more gardening while the weather is so good. I promise not to overdo it though! xx

Have a good day everyone. x

Beautiful day here and no cold wind either! I intend to go and cut the grass this afternoon before it gets any longer.

Been and got my 'beard' waxed and eyelashes tinted this morning. Why does the hair on your chin suddenly sprout overnight?

Did an 'Oma' last night with only a couple of hours sleep! So I'm not doing anything that involves using my brain today! In fact I may find a sunny spot and let my eyelids close this afternoon.

Message from DS this morning, his best friend's wife has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She's only in her early forties and they've got a little one. So sad! Hopefully she'll respond to treatment. They live on one of the Scottish islands but I don't know what the medical facilities are like there. I hope she doesn't have to travel to the mainland for treatment.

                                Enjoy the sunshine ladies xx
