Plant, I am always awake early, it doesn't matter what time I go to bed, I did go very early last night though as my knee was hurting so much I thought I would escape to my bed, I did sleep a full 10 hours. We are one hour in front of you though so my 6am with be your 5am.

Good morning early birds and everyone who comes later. I woke up about 6 and decided it was far too early to get up. Next thing I knew it was nearly 9 o'clock! It's sunny at the moment but a bit chilly but I'm going to get on with gardening today. I've got some things to plant and a couple of things that need moving and dividing.

Nanto - I hope you are able to put your worries about the baby to one side. Enjoy your day out in Wakefield.

Gem - it's a good idea to start putting things ready to pack. At least you won't be needing your summer outfits here between now and your holiday. If we're going away in the summer time I spend the previous couple of weeks saying to OH (and myself) "Don't wear that again before our holidays". Poor DD3, but at least she got new swimsuits.

Oma - I hope you solve the mystery of the key. I'm trying to think of the various ways you can lose two weeks' worth of boxer shorts. The mind boggles.

Lizzie - I hope your knee is ok. Do you make tray bakes as well? I've never been very successful - some things burned and others undercooked!

Plant - it sounds as though you are feeling a lot better, but the thing about housework is - it will always wait! So will the ironing pile. Don't be tempted to do too much. Relax and enjoy having a good reason to sit in your summer house with a good audio book. x

      Have a good day everyone.

Daisy, my knee is better after resting thanks, I was just chatting to the neighbour, I said I was shattered last night, she said " I saw that"! She asked why I don't ask her for help, I told her there is no reason really to do it all in one day but I coped. I have never tried a tray bake, as I say, DIL is very good with them, we had one on Christmas Eve and it was delicious!

I had forgotten that we are going to our friends C and P this evening

I have done a lot of printing today. Minutes, Agenda and the annual accounts ready for Tuesday's AGM, plus all the holiday info, and an official Welcome letter to both families travelling with us, from Mickey Mouse

We have got some washing out on the line too.

Daisy, I am feeling much better, I have been out to lunch with Sil and DD, lovely meal. I am relaxing watching the rugby, sunroom would be too cold although we have had a gorgeous Spring like day.

Had an away day today. Fed up with myself, so I took the train to King's Lynn and spent a pleasant few hours wandering around. Once you're out of the grotty shopping centre, the old part of the town is lovely and it was quite peaceful . Walked along the river, but it was quite a cold wind blowing. Found a lovely cafe and had a very tasty coronation chicken sandwich and coffee. Had a table in the window and watched the world go by. Bought one of their loaves and an Easter egg brownie on the way out. Between walking to and from the station and round King's Lynn, I've done over 11kms today........won't be going far tonight! The sun was shining and the spring flowers were blooming, so all in all a lovely day.

On the subject of sleeping, after 4 hours on Thursday night, I was quite glad and refreshed to have slept 8 hours last night. this seems to be a pattern at the moment, several nights with 6 hours at the most then a really decent night's sleep. I should sleep well tonight with all the fresh air and exercise I've had! Fingers crossed.

Glad you're feeling better today Plant, take it easy x

Have a good evening ladies xx

WeeGranny, that sounds like a good day out, I went to Kings Lynn with my DH years ago. You should sleep after all the kms and fresh air! It was a cold wind here, lovely on the balcony so I went for a bike ride and didn't get far, a cold wind.

WeeGranny - you can't beat a day in the fresh air to say nothing of 11km walking for helping with a good night's sleep. It sounds a lovely day out and good for you for doing it.

Lizzie - pleased to hear your knee if better today. I think you should listen to your neighbour's advice and ask for help if you need it, or just give yourself a day off occasionally.

                    Oma -

Plant - good to hear you're feeling better and have had a nice lunch out. My OH forgot about the rugby - he's out painting the shed. Mind you he wouldn't be too happy with the score at the moment (being Welsh!).

Gem - what a busy bee you've been, but good to get all that paperwork done, and what a lovely idea to do a welcome letter from Mickey Mouse to the other two families. Enjoy your evening out.

We have been gardening again. I planted the three bergenias I bought a few days ago - and split up another one. Then I sorted out some pots that had just got left over the winter. It doesn't sound much, but seemed to take ages. It was quite chilly too, and Eva kept asking to play as well. Off to get dinner now and warm up.

Sat outside with a coffee in the sunshine,it was very pleasant.
There was a craft fair on,so plenty of stalls to browse round.
It was also the start of the rhubarb festival.

Sun and frost here too Nan2. It sounds a good day yesterday.
I'm happy to hear you are feeling better Plant.
It will have done you good to get out WG. Often when we least feel like it it does us most good.

                            You are busy gardeners Daisy

We drove home from our friends house at 11.30 last night and it was very cold then.
No plans here today. I need to phone my auntie to check whether she wants us to go tomorrow. If so we may pop put to M and S today for some nice things for lunch.
Watching lasts nights recorded TV will be on our agenda today for sure.

                            Have good day everyone.

Good Sunday morning, everyone. It's bright and sunny here, no frost but a bit chilly. I hope it will warm up later.

Nanto - you've done well to get washing out so early.

WeeGranny - did you sleep well last night after your day out?

Gem - I hope your auntie is feeling ok for you to go tomorrow. It must be frustrating for her if she can't get out as much as she'd like. The gardening is catching up with the damage caused by the first patio people, and no gardening last year for the same reason. We thought we might as get stuck in and do all the outstanding jobs.

I need to get some washing on, then out in the garden again!

                              Have a good Sunday. x

                                Happy gardening Daisy!
I need to get to the bottom of what my auntie wants.
On the phone on Thursday she sounded a bit fed up, unsurprisingly as she has been disabled with bad sciatica for about three weeks. She said she couldn't come out for lunch on Monday but when I offered to take lunch there she seemed to agree. However she phoned and spoke to OH on Friday and said we had better not come as she was no better. OH told her I would ring over the weekend.
Although 93 she still likes to look after us when we go, making cups of tea etc. Although we always take the mugs back to the dishwasher to save her carrying them.
I will tell her she need to do nothing if we come. We will bring lunch, make teas and coffees, clear away and everything.
If she really isn't up to visitors of course we won't go but will leave it to her to phone us when she is. I think it would do her good to see us, but it is her choice in the end
