My OH says thank you to everyone. He's definitely feeling better. My friend did call in for coffee but OH sat at the other end of the room and I had the windows open. Fortunately it was very sunny, and felt quite warm inside.
We did a few odd jobs around the house and I pushed the sucky up thing round upstairs, did a couple of loads of washing and made lunch. I took Eva out late afternoon and we had a nice walk, although by the time I got back just before 5 it was pretty dark and had gone a bit colder.
Watched Call the Midwife (does anyone else find the background music annoying?) and stocked my Kindle up with new books."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Good morning Oma and Nan2. Good morning everyone else.
Is that a new series of Call The Midwife Daisy and Nan2, or the Christmas episode? We were out at friends last night and didn't watch any telly.
No plans today, but it is my turn to host the quiz this evening, I have only set the picture round so have two more to do today.
We did talk about going out for a walk but the dull damp weather never inspires me!

Good Morning to a cold and dull Monday it looks as though snow is in the offering I hope not it is not my favourite at all.
Oma my DD is back from her partners house he has done a real good job of looking after her and she is going back to work to-day. She stays there quite often as the GCs who live at home are 26/19/17 they are all at work and are sensible in the house very well trained in looking after the house for youngsters,I have just made them a massive pan of scouse they love nanna's scouse when they come in from work.My DD & G (her partner) are talking of moving in together & the GCs moving into a house near him I can see a wedding in the near future so will need a new hat,the move when it happens will not affect DCs work they have been told they can transfer to Liverpool,I will miss her being so close but she will continue to work over here on the Wirral and she must do what is best for her and her relationship as he is such a nice guy and works very hard at his job so things are moving along nicely for her after the awful time she had with her x husband.
Last week I had to renew my BT contract and got a good deal again but this time I have gone with the offer of a new phone with them I have never had one of these all singing all dancing phones and the deal including the phone was only £2 more than I was paying before, thing is when it arrived DGD came down to set it up and the sim card was missing & a little metal part to open the sim compartment so this morning I am waiting a new delivery of a replacement and we will start again, the old phone I was using belonged to my John it was that old it never even took pictures he always said that he didn't need an up to date phone as no one ever phoned him so why bother his credit (payg) would last months the only time it was used was when I went out on Saturday to meet Margaret and I needed picking up.
Off now to do the floors and bathroom Oliver has been sleeping in the bathroom sink again he is such a funny cat at times he has started going into Jims by his bathroom window these past few weeks Jim says he just appears in his lounge via the window naughty boy he is. xglamma xKeep Calm,You're Fabulous

Good Monday morning everyone.
Lazybones here has only just got up, so I'll get myself sorted out and pop back later. I woke about 6.45, looked at the clock and thought I'd get up in a minute. The next thing it was nearly 10 am!"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

I am hoping to go to bowls this afternoon, we are all taking lateral flow tests before we go. I also need to pick up a card for baby H’s birthday tomorrow. I had one but made a mistake writing it so can’t use it now. A friend I have known since our pram pushing days just phoned to remind me we are meeting for lunch this Wed. I have to confess I had thought it was February, fortunately the day is still free.
Nanto, dinner sounds good. I love Call the Midwife. Can’t say I mind the music.
Glamm, your cheeky cat, he likes having two homes. Never hard a cat that sleeps in the sink, he is quite a character, I wonder what he will make of a dog in the house again. So pleased your DD is happy in her new relationship. I don’t think your GS’s will starve with GM near but that is what grandmas are for. Love to spoil mine.
Gemini, good luck with setting the remainder of the quiz, don’t you run out of ideas?
Oma, good luck with the shopping for stools. I remember now you got rid of your table. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Went to MIL's she was in a good mood for a change
From there went to Dunelm , found the Bar stools I was after they being delivered on Friday , that's if I don't get a email to say not in stock now like my Bed runner
They called Montreal in a nice Grey colour , we tried the Tan ones they had in store and they are sturdy and comfy .
Glamm DD had a cat that slept in the sink , she has one who loves the shower tray now and sleeps for hours in there if she is allowed
Bet Oliver is company for Jim ,
Plant just as well your friend phoned . Hope you have a good game of bowls , are there many players ?
Gem yes its a new series of Call the Midwife it was as usual good
Daisy you must have needed the sleep , nothing spoiling was there if you didn't need to be anywhere xx

Glamma next door's cat had a spell of coming into our house via an open back bedroom window on summer days!
Fingers crossed the bar stools come Oma.
Baby H almost one! That seems to have gone quickly Plant. Good that you are free for the lunch you thought was in February
Daisy, lie ins are perfectly acceptable for the retired!
We had somehow missed the fact that Call The Midwife has been on since January 2nd!!
We have now downloaded the missing ones and it is set to record the rest of the series. With the new Sky Q box we got last year, things which would have automatically recorded because we watched them in the past weren't picked up.
We have played two games of Scrabble, and won one each!
I sent the dentist a picture of my back tooth with filling missing and crumbling, so hoping for an appointment soon.
We are going to my mum's bungalow now to bring the last things away (hallway bookcase, garden bench, something or other from the shed) Then if we are lucky enough for things to suddenly move quickly on the sale we won't be dashing round to do it.

I hope you get the bar stools you ordered Oma, I presume they are fabric covered ones.
Difficult to get a pic of your own back tooth, I presume you had some help from S, Gemini.
Daisy, I find if when the heating switches on I could sleep for England. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

I have an appointment tomorrow to check the tooth and at least patch it for now. Good service I thought.
2 pm as well, so fits in with school pick up for GS1. I will take my Kindle and sit in the car until it's time to collect him.
We took the garden bench from my mum's back garden straight round to DD1's. It was my dads retirement gift, which mum had renovated a few years ago. I didn't want to leave it in the garden so excluded it from the sale. I wanted one of the family to have it. DD, SIL and GS are happy to have it. We had a cuppa at DD's when we dropped it off.
Not enough takers for the quiz tonight so we have delayed it until next week. We did talk about having it every other week, but one of our friends is very keen to have one every week!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
