Enfys I agree it will get us all eventually , thankfully it’s not as bad as the first waves with everyone being vaccinated and being sensible , well most people are ,

Nanto I have done the same on several occasions , thought I have pressed post and haven’t

It’s still cold but snow and ice has gone . I feel really tired today but we were both up from 4.45 so understandable .

Phoned DD she feels fine SIL and GS still negative , I would be surprised if GS tested positive again .

Oma, I hope the medics can confirm what is causing the problem with your blood readings. It must be a real headache trying to find a replacement door, I hope you get a satisfactory replacement soon.

Lizzie, I will try your suggestion on a small patch of psoriasis to see it it does improve it. I suppose I will need to get it from a health food shop. Pleased you are feeling better.

It has been very very cold here today, too cold for snow as they say. Put some food out for the birds yesterday, they were onto it in seconds. I had a Zoom meeting with some of my WI friends this afternoon and our treasurer sent me a link to get some lateral flow tests. We are starting bowls on Monday but have agreed to take a lateral flow test.

Nanto - so glad it was just a finger fumble - I was worried in case your FIL was poorly. But then I noticed you'd posted in another thread today.

Oma - I do think doctors go for the worst diagnosis before they've finished doing all their tests etc. I hope you get an appointment quickly so you don't worry. At least you've got one solution for your wardrobe door now. It will be expensive to replace all of them. Are there 3 doors? If so you could get the two end ones replaced without glass and keep the one in the middle as a mirror. Pleased your DD feels ok, and hopefully SIL won't get it - it's hard when you run your own business.

Enfys - I hope your GD is ok, and stays symptom-free. Your family has enough to cope with at the moment with your DD's fall as well.

Plant - I hope Lizzie's suggestion helps. I hadn't heard of Neem oil, but I'm wondering if it might help my DS1's nails which are suffering badly from the drug he's taking. Thanks for the link, Lizzie

Glamm - poor Jim. Bad news like that hits you hard, especially after he's been so ill and at this dismal time of year. The rice pudding sounds yummy though and will hopefully put a smile on his face.

"Someone's" pestering for her dinner. I'll pop back later.

Daisy yes 3 doors but the two end ones are plain wood its just the middle one that's glass ,
They have been saying there was something wrong with my Bone Marrow for 3 years now and done nothing , so im not too worried ,
At least I will know the Dr as its the same one B had at the same Hospital we know the unit well .

Plant anything is worth trying if it gives you relief , i must admit I have never heard of Neem oil either ,

Oma - so my bright idea wasn't so bright as it is just the one glass door!

I do hope they can find out what is going on with your bone marrow this time round. I'm sure you'll get a right royal welcome from the unit where B was treated. xxx

I've had a look at Neem oil online, and I think it sounds a bit too risky for my DS, but it might come in handy in their garden as they get a lot of midges etc from the woodland at the bottom of their garden. DIL1 gets badly bitten every year.

Good morning, I hope they get your bloods sorted out Oma, if you have had it 3 years I don't think it will be serious, my friend has chronic leukaemia , she has immune therapy and has had for years now, she was here a while ago and is fine.

Daisy, I know the midges in the garden would soon find me!

I went to DS1 yesterday afternoon, I had to take some things to the charity place, they are not open but you can take things, people certainly are, the sorting room was packed! The driving went fine, it isn't far, I had the plug in my ear but no dizzy spells, I think the exercises are helping, even though I feel really sick after doing them, the young man did mention that. This is what I have. BPPD (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo). BPPD stands for a benign dizziness, which occurs only occasionally and is related to the position of the head.

GD2 has had a friend there a few days, she was called home early yesterday as the rest of the family have been tested positive for covid, they had been ski-ing in France and brought it home with them. The young friend had to go with her parents for a test. I hope they are all ok and that GD2 doesn't get it.

Did I mention that there was a search in their village for a lady, she was 67 years old, went for a walk and never returned, they had the police heli etc looking for her, they found her body yesterday morning in the water, sad. It said on the site that she couldn't walk far and fell often so what happened no-one knows.

                  Just started spotting with rain.

Oma,hope the medics can get you sorted out.

Going into town this morning, then to the supermarket.
Don't want anything in particular from town, just want to get out for the day.

Oma, I had scale insects in the olive trees, tried everything then read that the growers use neem oil, I mix it with water and soft soap in a spray then use it. It worked!

I won't be climbing stairs etc Oma, in fact I am taking it easy! I do the exercises and I am feeling the dizziness for less time when I do them so they must be helping.

Gem, I saw the photo of all the "girls" very good.xxxx

                        Good morning everyone.

Oma thank you, it is a lovely photo, just taken by a waitress! We bought mum a photo fleece as part of her Christmas presents, with just four photos on so they are big and she can see them. That is one of them, so she has a big reminder of it every day as well as the framed photo on her shelf

How sad about the lady Lizzie, I do remember you mentioning her here.

Nan2 sometimes it's good just to get out. We are all in so much over winter.

                        We have no plans today!

                          Good morning everyone.

Nanto thank you for that lovely graphic - I could just do with a Caribbean holiday!

Lizzie - how sad for that lady's family. I'm glad you're feeling a little bit less dizzy and are taking it easy. I hope your GD2 doesn't get Covid.

Enfys - I hope your GD is ok, and your DD after her tumble.

Gem - I loved that photo of you all as well. Definitely one to treasure. The photo fleeces are lovely - DS2 and DIL sold a lot in their shop before Christmas as they make such a lovely present, as do the printed cushions.

Oma - I'm thinking about doing some cleaning today! Much needed in our house. But my neighbour has just been round asking if we can have Missy this afternoon, so perhaps I'll leave it for today!! I'm just waiting for the dog food delivery then I'll have to play freezer tetris to get everything in!

Must try Neem Oil on my olive trees Lizzie. I do think you have to be careful to use it on your skin. I have just cleaned some of my windows inside but I am now going next door as all three GGC are there plus GS1 and his wife.

Another eventful, day. DD rang this morning, SIL has tested positive, a colleague at work was positive yesterday so obvious where he got it from. I popped round with a box of tests as they were running out. I stood in the drive and threw them in the front door! We have both ordered some more. I did a test and I’m negative so I still went to my knitting group at the library, although I told my friends and we all wore our masks and I didn’t get too close. But I needed that morning out. My TV was playing up yesterday so had to,get that sorted out too, the engineer has just gone and all is ok. I’m feeling Quite shattered, am going to have a sherry...medicinal of course 🍷

Oh, Enfys, what a start to the new year you're having. I do hope your SIL isn't too poorly, and very pleased to hear you are negative. I'm glad you managed to go to your Knit and Natter Group - it sounds fun, with good company. xx

Plant - I hope you had a lovely time with your three GGCs.

I don't seem to have achieved much today. OH was feeling quite poorly with his cold, and hadn't slept very well, so he stayed in bed and slept until lunch-time. But it meant I had to carry all the dog food through to the chest freezer in the garage bit by bit and then sort the freezer out - it took ages. At least everything went in - I was a bit worried because we've still got some goodies from Christmas in there as well. I did some dusting and hoovering - not as much as I needed to do - and a couple of loads of washing.

We've got Missy from next door with us this afternoon and evening while her family are out. It's the first time she's stayed on her own with us, and she's been very good. I think Eva would have liked to play boisterous games with her, but thankfully she declined. She's got to have surgery on her back legs in a few weeks, and I didn't want Eva to make things any worse. They are both now having an after-dinner nap!

I'm making soup again for dinner which OH will enjoy. I'd better get on with it!
