A belated merry Christmas ladies. Just back from DD's where we had a lovely time. DS and I went up late Christmas morning and were amazed at the amount of traffic on the road. I think everyone must have been waiting in case our esteemed leader cancelled socialising again! The men went down the pub and DD and I opened a bottle of Veuve and toasted OH. Lots of lovely presents followed by a scrumptious meal. DD and I went for a walk to look at the decorated houses and came back and continued with the champagne. I fell asleep on the couch for over two hours! Unheard of for me, didn't think I'd sleep at night, but I did. Yesterday was a lazy day. Doggo didn't want to walk further than the end of their cul-de-sac, so DD and I went off ourselves! Played a silly game after dinner and drank too much G&T. Watched Calendar Girls and Crocodile Dundee.
Today, DS had to work, DD took me to have a look at some houses which are on the market and there were a couple which looked promising from the outside anyway. Left late afternoon and again the roads were busy.
Have developed the most awful dry cough, so took a test, but it's negative, so I think it's just a stinker of a cold. Will see if I have any cough mixture in the cupboard and have some tonight to see if that'll break it.
    DS's birthday tomorrow.
Glad everyone had a good Christmas. Keep safe ladies xx

It's lovely to hear about everyone's Christmas. It all seems to have gone amazing well, with only a couple of minor mishaps. Glamm - I wonder what could have happened to that pepper sauce! WeeGranny - I'm so glad it all went well for you. It sounds as though you were really tired and needed that sleep. Fingers crossed about the houses.

We went over to see GD2 this morning, taking her birthday presents and a little surprise for GD1 as well. We always given the non-birthday sibling something to unwrap. It started when our GSs were small, and continues. The next birthday is mid-January - GS2 will be 17.

This afternoon I took Eva out to go and look for the house key which DS1 thought he'd dropped when he took their dog round the block on Christmas Day. I found it on the pavement outside our house, where they had parked their car. Both DS1 and DIL1 were worrying about it, although I don't know why as it wasn't labelled. Anyway I found it on the way back so Eva got a good chance to have a sniffing-fest while I'd searched along grass verges and in piles of leaves! I did get a few funny looks!

            Good morning everyone.
It's really hard to work out what day it is at the moment isnt it?!

Horribly damp here too Nan2. We had jacket potatoes last night, with ham and some salad.

WG I am so glad that you had a nice day. Good luck with house hunting.

I'm glad the key was found Daisy. OH once found a key on the pavement when we were out delivering leaflets. It had a fob with number to ring then be rewarded with £10 once it was reunited with the owner. So she did and she was!

I thought OH was playing golf today, but there is no competition. We are having mum over tomorrow afternoon, plus DD1 and GS, possibly DD3 as well. I would have arranged it for today if I had known there was no golf!
So, a free day again, which is nice. Some boring things I need to do, and more relaxing time. I don't seem to have walked any distance at all for days, so should get out. The damp weather isnt encouraging me at the moment I have to say!

            Have a good day everyone.

              Morning ladies ,
What a wet and dreary day it is , very dark and foggy .

Daisy I bet he was pleased about the key , GS1 is always losing his , we have several spare ones cut as he always rings us when he loses one , no idea why
Maybe because he knows DD will tell him off again

Gem will S be golfing tomorrow or will she be able to see your Mum ? , How is DD3 feeling is she ok ?

Christmas day our Clare felt the first butterfly flutters of the baby she was in tears and so happy

Just been to Sainsburys , it was very quiet straight in and out , came in and then phoned my niece ,
she is feeling better today so hopes that the lateral flows she must do on Thursday & Friday are negative .

Hope everyone is doing ok and enjoying their day xxx

Good morning, a very wet morning here as well. Such a difference within a few days.

Enjoy your relaxing day Gem, I was going for a walk, maybe later on, it depends how wet it is. I have just made a calendar for myself, I doubt if the one from Scotland will arrive.

Very late getting up, wasn’t sleeping but felt lazy. No plans today, I don’t like these days after Christmas, everything seems so flat. I expect GS2 and GD2 plus their partners will be returning to London today, it will seem very quiet here, GD2 is such a lively one, she loves the little ones and plays their games, they will miss their aunties and uncles.

WG, a very boozy Christmas by the sound of it. I expect the property market is quiet atm.

Well done for finding the key Daisy, Eva would have enjoyed the rummaging game. Those girls are growing up fast, it will be baby H birthday on the 11th.

I am sure your mum will enjoy the visit to your house tomorrow, is that the first time she has been there since she was in the nursing home?

Nothing from Oma this morning, I hope all is well.

Good morning everyone. It's windy here, but not cold, although the blue patches in the sky seem to be clouding over. Hopefully it will be ok to take Eva to the paddock later.

Another lazy start to the day, but we are expecting friends round for a post-Christmas drink at some time. Their plans are all over the place as their DD, who lives in the Channel Isles, should have been going home yesterday but her sailing was cancelled and she doesn't know when she can get another one - Condor seem to have gone on holiday! So we'll fit in with whatever works for them.

Plant - I love these few days between Christmas and New Year. When I was teaching full-time they were a little oasis in the year when everything stopped and we had time to do whatever we wanted.

Gem - you don't get a lot of free time - just enjoy it. xxx

                        Good Afternoon everyone.
Well Christmas decs are down, well they were up on the 1st Dec which is really early for us! Funny how the house seems much bigger.
Just been for a walk, very blustery but good to blow the cobwebs away, think we have a free day today, so intend to do very little and get the paint brushes out.
Whatever you up to enjoy it. x

                          Hello again.
I have spent part of the morning in the 'office'. Writing a letter to a solicitor, emailing the care home manager and paying my car tax. We also watched Christmas Bake off, so not all work!

Oma, we arranged mum's visit for a day OH could be here, fitted in between her usual Tuesday and Thursday golf days, so yes she will be here How exciting for Clare!
Plant, yes mums first visit here for almost two years.
I hope your friends come Daisy.
Jane, it must look bare and tidy! Happy painting.

I did a silly thing this morning, I was busy with a calendar, I got it all done, in the basket and paid for (Groupon), then, I didn't hear anything at all, no mail and nothing in my account, I got in touch with the help desk on Messenger, after helping me for almost a full hour he discovered I had signed in with my Google account and that automatically used my Gmail address, which I hardly ever use! On opening the Gmail, there they were, all the confirmation mails etc. Here I hang my head in shame!!!!

I have written about my recent house selling woes on YEO.
