Traffic was fairly bad going to DS2's.

Asda was quite busy, but i didn't want much.
Already had all the Christmas stuff in.

Well i actually think the rest of the day is my own.

Oma - fancy you forgetting the milk - so did we! We have it delivered, but of course not on Christmas Day. It's the first Christmas we've been here since it went online. In the good old days they would deliver the two days together. Now their computer just cancels orders that fall on Christmas day, and you have to add them to another day manually. I just wish they'd told us!!! Anyway we've also run out of sellotape so OH is going to get them first thing tomorrow. I hope B is feeling better. xx

Glamm, I'm sure your little GD will be bubbling with excitement. It's amazing that someone working in a butcher's doesn't know what chicken livers are!

Enfys - that sounds like a gentle relaxing day. I hope it worked out that way and you enjoyed it.

Gem - did you get your mince pies made?

Lizzie - glad you shoulder is feeling better. We had rain as well today.

Plant - have you got an appointment with the dermatologist yet about your hand?

Nanto - I hope you had a lovely day as well, with no calls on your time. x

I decided to go to our small local Morrisons tonight at 8.30 . B sat in the car while I popped in ,
It was empty apart from me and about 6 other people .

Girl on checkout said at 6 it was packed , so picked the right time to go , I got everything I needed and was back out within 15 minutes .

Funny you saying about Milk man Daisy we got a leaflet through the door today from a local milkman offering his services ,
They deliver 3 times a week and also deliver groceries , you have to order a couple of days in advance if you want groceries but a great idea if you can’t get out or are elderly .
Trouble is we don’t use enough milk to warrant one , B won’t have milk there’s only me uses it in tea and cereal
As I only have a couple of cups of tea a day and cereal about twice a week , it’s easier for me just to buy some with my shopping .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Good morning everyone, and Happy Christmas Eve!

I hope WG is OK, and B's cough improving
Daisy, yes I got the mince pies made yesterday.

We had a lovely evening with DD3 and SIL. Chats, home made cookies and a hilarious new game they bought.
Scan day today, so exciting. We took their presents from us and from DD1, in a cardboard box. Their cat was delighted with her gift of cardboard box and sat in it for most of the evening

Today I will prepare for tomorrow. As we are going to DD2s there isn't a lot to do. I am taking a big bowl of mashed potatoes with plenty of butter and cream, the puddings (traditional Christmas pud, plus a chocolate bombe type) and mulled wine. Today I will make the mash and mulled wine. The floors need steaming but I may put OH on the task as I am doing the cooking.
This evening we are invited round to friends. There will be six of us all together. We are not usually invited out on December 24th so it will be a nice change.

I hope everyone is well today.

                Good Christmas Eve morning everyone.

Gem - so glad you got the mincepies done. I might pop to your DD2's tomorrow - everything sounds so delicious!

Nanto - I hope Dad is ok.

                WeeGranny - sending love

I must get on - shower and hair wash and a bit of pampering, then I'll get on with the last few bits and pieces. DS2 and family should be here mid-afternoon, then the (lovely) chaos begins.

Lovely and quiet here, the lull before the storm. GD2 and partner arrived yesterday and GS and his fiancé are arriving later. I have to make the blinis for Christmas morning snd the overnight salad later. We seem to have got out of step with having all GC together but we are all together Boxing Day. My DS, Dil and poss. GS will be popping in Christmas morning.

Daisy, your Christmas will start early when your family arrive to eat all that food you have been preparing. The dogs will enjoy their Christmas. Have you ever had the three dogs together?

Wondering how WG is feeling this morning.

Gemini, your Christmas is starting this evening with a meet up with friends, have a lovely time.

Oma, you were lucky to beat the crowds at Morrisons. My DD has a milk delivery from a local dairy, he comes in the middle of the night.

My table runner will not be finished I fear, it is minus it’s edge binding, maybe Father Christmas will finish it on his rounds. It is going on my table finished or not.

Daisy, I haven’t heard anything from the hospital yet, not expecting it yet really. Had the injection for my bones yesterday, covid has prevented me from having a bone scan.

Nanto enjoy your fish and chips, I am having a fish pie, bought not homemade.

If I don’t get on here again today, I hope you all have a lovely family Christmas.

Good morning everyone, my hairdresser has just been and made me feel better! DS2 and DIL are coming late afternoon then we are doing to DS1 for the meal, DIL2 has a friend, she lost her son, he was in his teens at the time I think,
about 20 years ago and on the day they go to his grave so will be going there first.

It is warmer here than it was yesterday, I have all I need for the Boxing day meal and if I have missed anything Lidl is across the road. I was at the supermarket in the village at 8am, there is usually just me at that time but it was already very busy.

Daisy, enjoy having all the family together for a change.

I don't use much mail either Oma, I use if for my kefir and now and again for my porridge. DS1 goes to the dairy farm for his once a week.

Plant, I had never heard of blini's so had to Google them!

I will have a ride to nowhere on my exercise bike! The young man I know at the fysio said he would get me in for fysio fit, I may take his advise, I will see how it goes after Christmas etc.

Good morning, well wll is finished here. Trifle made, cream will go on on the morning, cake iced, presents wrapped and everywhere clean and tidy. DD popped in earlier, she had been to our local Wilkos and managed to get me some jelly! None to be had anywhere else, and like Oma, I like it in my trifle.

Daisy. Yes my afternoon went as planned yesterday. Watched The Holiday, a nice christmassy film and got on with GDs blanket. I also nodded off at some point 😴

A couple of days ago I called in at our chemist to get another pack of Covid tests, none available and apparently they have been hard to,get hold off. Luckily I was able to order some online and they arrived this morning, so I’m ok, just in case.

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas, best wishes to all. 🎄

I have made the mulled wine and mashed potatoes for tomorrow.
Next I am going to make some chocolate Rice Krispie buns for boxing Day, some milk and a few plain chocolate ones for SIL1.
Then I will shower, change and relax 😊
We have decided to follow Nan2's lead and have fish and chips tonight.
I bought a lamb shank for us tonight, when I thought we were staying in.
Now we are going to friends at 7ish, fish and chips around 6 seems a good idea.
