Good morning,i can just see the sun peeking through.

WG, sorry to hear your news. Hope things are a bit better today.

Lizzie, glad you got some sleep.

All the trees are down,at the bungalow. Just waiting for the skip coming tomorrow.
Yesterday the new plumbing was done and the new kitchen sink is in.
I don't think the council would have given them a new sink, because there was nothing wrong with the other one.
    But,she wanted a new one.

      Good morning my dears.
I hope today is a good one, especially if yesterday wasn't.

Moving can be very stressful Nan2. I'm glad your BIL is OK after his night in hospital.
Good to hear the ribs were more comfortable last night Lizzie. I agree that your neighbour shouldn't be living alone much longer.

The sun is shining here, lovely morning.

We are being taken out to lunch!
One of OH's golf friends is treating us to a Sunday roast at a country pub. She sometimes eats with us and comes on days out. She is a widow, ten years older than us, whose two children don't live locally, and very nice person. We tell her that to cook for one extra is nothing, but she feels she must reciprocate from time to time. She doesn't like cooking so takes us out!
This evening I am babysitting for GS1 at his house. DD and SIL and going for an early meal and to see the new James Bond film.
I must finish unpacking this morning and get another wash on.

      Happy Sunday

          Good Sunday morning, everyone.

Nanto - I could do justice to that breakfast today!

WeeGranny - I'm so sorry to hear about OH and his fall. I hope he has had a comfortable night and doesn't have to stay in too long, although it does sound as though they are taking account of his needs very well and keeping him safe from infections. How are you feeling? I hope you managed to sleep - you must be worn out. Sending virtual hugs. xxx

Gem - have a lovely time.

Oma - you too, seeing your friends for coffee.

Today is my OH's birthday and the family (apart from the GSs) are coming for lunch, so I need to get my skates on, so forgive me from not commenting on yesterday's happenings - I need to get going. I hope it stays dry - otherwise the dogs will have a field day in our mud bath/garden!! I'm doing roast chicken and all the trimmings, made a birthday cake last night and cupcakes for DS2 and DIL for their wedding anniversary tomorrow. I couldn't get a big enough chicken for 8 so I got two smaller ones but can only cook one at a time, so the first one's already in the oven.

WG, So sorry to hear about your OH, so worrying for you but he is in the best place.

DD phoned me at 9.30, I was still in bed wishing I had a cup of tea, she was concerned as I hardly had any voice. I had a little walk around the garden yesterday, it was such a lovely day, I wished I felt up to do some pottering.

Plant, hope you're feeling better this evening.

Daisy hope your lunch party went well. Happy Birthday to Mr D and congrats to DS and DiL!

I have had a lazy day. Woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep. so went for a long walk through the fields in the mist. Came back and fiddled faddled around, put a wash out, DS said I didn't look great, so took myself back to bed for a bit. Finished the book I'd had with me at hospital yesterday, dozed a bit. DD rang to say we can't visit OH until Tuesday , but he was OK and had had more blood tests!! he'll have none left if they take any more.

DD arrived here and we went out for another walk and put the world and our worries to rights. She is now cooking dinner and I've been banished from the kitchen! So have brought my glass of wine up to the computer room and waiting to be called when it's ready. Smells good anyway...roast pork!

DB rang and he's just got himself a new job at age 70! Someone he used to work with approached him and asked if he'd be interested in joining the company he works for doing the same work as he'd done before he retired. Needless to say he jumped at the chance. Two days work for three days pay, can't be bad. He's now having problems finding short sleeved work shirts because he's not keen on long sleeves! He was shocked at how fast OH has gone downhill from when we were in Scotland in July.

Hope everyone has a good evening. Is anyone going to watch the new version of The Darling Buds of May? Think I might record it. xx

WeeGranny - I'm glad DD is there to cook you a delicious dinner - you certainly need a bit of pampering at the moment - and DS is no doubt keeping an eye on you as well. You were right to have a bit of a lazy day - although two long walks sounds anything but lazy. I hope you can have another 'gentle' day tomorrow. Good for your DB getting a new job - and being paid 3 days for two days' work is wonderful.

Nanto - tomorrow sounds like another 'roll up your sleeves' day with the skip arriving. Don't over do things though.

Oma - it's nice to see people you haven't seen for a while, although I know you see your SIL's parents quite regularly.

We've had a busy, tiring but fun day. Roast chicken dinner went down well, and it was great to sit down and have a good laugh as well as catching up with each others' news. OH enjoyed his birthday and and says thank you for all the good wishes.

I'm more than ready for bed! Night, night everyone. xx

Good morning, Daisy, a belated Happy birthday to your DH, the family would enjoy the roast chicken meal and the happy time together.

Oma, you would enjoy the catch up with friends and Gem the meal etc.

WeeGranny, enjoy being well looked after at such a worrying time. Well done to your DB for getting the job, it is nice to be occupied as well as earning at the same time.

I will be going to aqua today, with it being the last time before half term we will be doing wet belt, but, the belt fits exactly where my ribs hurt so I will occupy myself whilst the others are doing that, I can do the exercises with them, only without the belt.
