    Good morning all.

Chilly morning, but the sun is out. It was a lovely sunny day yesterday, so maybe it will be today.

I'm not sure what time the GC will be picked up . I would drop them off when I go to see mum this afternoon, but DD and SIL left their car here so have to come over later. Between amusing GS2 and visiting my mum, there will be some packing!
I have all day tomorrow, so there is plenty of time.

I hope everyone is well today.

Good Sunday morning everyone. It's bright and sunny here and pleasantly warm.

I ended up sorting out cupboards yesterday and didn't get a chance to come back and read all your news. I'll try and do that later, but I need to get Eva out for walkies before it gets too warm.

        Morning ladies
My tummy is sore but much better thank you for asking .
DD came yesterday and she had the same on Thursday and Friday so obviously a bug doing the rounds

WG how did GS get on at Hospital ? These football injuries can be awful ,
Its only a few month since my SIL was in a cast because of football ,GS got many a injury when he played .

        Nanto
Enjoy your unplanned day fingers crossed nothing turns up to spoil it ๐Ÿ˜

        Gem
Nice to get DD out for a treat it will break her day up did she enjoy herself ?
im sure you will get packed in no time tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜

        Glamm
My MIL is 88 and does silly things like Jim , like standing on a stool when she has no need too she only has to phone and ask one of us to help , good for you telling him off
put him on the naughty step ๐Ÿ˜

        Plant
How do you feel this morning after all that sun ,hope it hasnโ€™t gave you a headache ,
out with GD yesterday and GSs the day before , you are in demand ๐Ÿ˜
Isnโ€™t it lovely that they all want to spend time with you though , shows how much they love you xx

Well 1.30am the house phone went , instantly we knew it wasGS1 as he is the only one that phones on the house phone ,
If his phone dies our house phone is the only number he remembers ,
Well your heart races at that time in the morning fearing the worst ,

Sure enough it was him but only to ask us to ring his parents as he had returned to his tent at the festival to find someone had stolen his credit card .
Silly lad thought if he hid it no one would find it ,
We told him people do this all the time and these thieves know all the hiding places and letโ€™s face it there isnโ€™t many hiding spots in a tent are there ,

B then had to wake SIL to tell him to go online and cancel GS card

He will be ok without it all his friends will chip in if he needs anything and he is driving home tonight instead of tomorrow so one day wonโ€™t hurt , said heโ€™s having a fantastic time ๐Ÿ˜
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, good to hear you are a bit better. Something going round as you say.
Poor GS! There are some horrible dishonest people about, sadly.

I hope it wasn't too hot or busy for Eva's walk Daisy.

Positive news regarding DD3. I will post on that thread

I am posting here as things get so easily lost in the Chatbox. After a 42 week+ pregnancy and 3day labour ending in a forceps delivery, my DD3 gave birth to her first baby, a beautiful little boy. My 4th grandchild and 3rd grandson. DD stayed in hospital overnight after the birth for staff to keep an eye on mummy and baby.

Very tiring day yesterday so I am taking it easy today, family going to a beer festival. The food festival was amazing, just a bit hot and was on a slightly sloping field. Wasnโ€™t much fun for baby H. I saw the skin specialist in the morning and she took a tiny sample of the skin to send to a lab., she is still doubtful it is psoriasis. If it is she wants to arrange some light treatment on the NHS. I like her very much. A bit dull here atm, not sure what the forecast is.

What a dreadful thing to happen to your GS, it is a lesson learned. Good job he could contact you. They steal all sorts at festivals apparently.

Busy time for you Gemini, you will be pleased to get away and have a rest.

Nanto, I hope your going with the flow is enjoyable.

At last, a few minutes to catch up with everybody!

Glamm, yes, I've just got a laptop. I got a MacBook Air, as I have a Mac computer and an iPhone. Everything I have on my computer and in the cloud just appeared on my laptop, so I didn't have to migrate any files or anything. The only thing difference is the access password. I've still got to set up the tracker thingy - the default for scrolling goes the wrong way for me (the default suits most people, I'm just odd!). If you're using Windows/Microsoft you would have to transfer anything you wanted to keep onto your new machine. It's worth going through the old laptop and deleting anything you don't want, saving everything (onto an external drive) then loading it onto your new laptop. I must admit I would get some help to do it. But it would be worth it to have a nice new laptop that runs properly.

How was the food market at New Brighton? I'm sure the atmosphere was great, but were those delicious aromas too hard to resist? The Beatles week-end sounds great fun, and I can imagine what the atmosphere will be like. There are some amazing tribute acts around - and a few dreadful ones! Take care, I bet it will be very busy.

WeeGranny, the driving range sounds fun, and you did very well. I hope you enjoy the lesson with the pro next week. I've used JL's curtain service. They were very good, and much quicker than I expected. Someone came and measured and I think it was only about a week or 10 days before the curtains arrive, beautifully made. Gosh, that ยฃ97/metre fabric must be spun in pure gold! What did the hospital say about your GS's injury. I hope it's nothing that is going to stop him doing all the things he enjoys.

Nanto - I think you're right about youngsters appreciating cash these days, but I bet she'll also appreciate some nice Lush or Body Shop goodies for anytime she has a few minutes to relax.

Lizzie - it was your own quick thinking that saved you! In the UK there's usually a signpost warning about speed humps, which is good as some of them are huge! Thank goodness you were ok.

Plant - I hope the specialist can diagnose the skin problem. Interesting that she doesn't think it is psoriasis though. It's good that you have confidence in her as well. What are you going to use the lovely olives for? Or will you just eat them as they are? I've never had baklava, but I've just looked it up and it sounds delicious.

                  Still catching up!

Oma, I'm sorry you have had a poorly tummy. It does sound like a bug of some sort, but you should definitely be taking it easy, so I'm glad you swerved the housework this morning.

Poor GS1 has learned a lesson the hard way. There are some wicked people about. Thank goodness he was able to contact you so he could get his card stopped. I'm sue the whole family will be pleased when he's safely home, but I do hope he's enjoyed it despite losing his CC.

Gem, what a busy time you've had with your GCs this week, but I'm sure you have all enjoyed it. I'll pop over to your DD3 thread to catch up there. It's always lovely to read positive news. xx

Nanto, how is the flow going today? It's lovely here so perhaps you are out in the garden.

Eva still hasn't had her walk yet! It's now quite hot and everywhere will be busy with holiday-makers and day trippers, so I'll leave it until this evening. It's a good job we don't have a routine time for walkies or she would be giving me the hard stare by now! My friend came round for coffee and we sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine. Later on I'll cut the lawn - it's growing really quickly now and has greened up nicely.

Well hubby deciding he wanted to alter the canopy over the door that leads into the back porch.
I spent a bit of tome holding the steps and being general dogsbody.
Anyway, its done now and hubby is a happy chappy.

Had a lazy day today. Only walked round the village on my way to get Sunday paper. Bit of a pain in my groin and my hip is sore for the first time in months. So have cleared out the last packing box and now have a bag of stuff to go to the charity shop next week. It's amazing finding things that I know I'm never going to use anytime in the future. What has left has actually fitted in my blanket box and there was some stuff only fit for the bin! Just need some help moving furniture around in spare room before DS comes back and then it's all systems go for what will be home to computer, filing cabinet etc etc. Beginning to feel like my home now!

Haven't heard anything about GS's injury. DD is off celebrating a 50th birthday and I'm not sure where her menfolk are! They'll turn up at some point I've no doubt!

Found a steak pie in the freezer, so I'm having that for dinner along with home grown runner beans. Not mine sadly, but one of the couples at coffee morning have an allotment and they bring in excess vegetables and no one is allowed to leave without taking some!! Nothing tastes quite as good as home grown produce I think.

I noticed GS keeps his card in the cover of his mobile. Not sure if that's a good idea or not!

Going to watch the new series with Adrian Dunbar tonight. Hope everyone has a good evening xx

Glad to know you are home safely Lizzie.

Good idea to take it easy Plant.

Well done been an assistant to OH Nan2!

Did you get the lawn cut Daisy?

A nice sleepover for the GC. Any time GD, almost 13 grants us seems like wonderful treat. She is always polite, sweet and friendly but mostly doing her own thing (on screens!) We always respect her space and give her all the privacy she needs, GS2 on the other hand never voluntarily leaves my side when he's here
Not the best visit to mum. I have posted here https://gransrus.com/forum/leisure-i...tia#post201406 so won't repeat myself.
DD3 went out again though, so that's good news
I've done some packing and will finish tomorrow. OH made up the spare bed for the catsitter while I was out so that's a bonus

No bank holiday plans here. Hubby and his brother gone to a car boot sale.

Good morning, cooler here and dull at the moment but no rain forecast, I am going to a class anytime then the aqua this afternoon, then I will be shattered!

It isn't a Bank Holiday here. DS1 is in Leeds area for a week, he was in in Sweden last week, always manages a days sightseeing, he was in Gothenburg and caught a tram to the coast, from there you travel by boats round the small islands, this is all included in the price of the tram. He really enjoyed it and said the scenery was fantastic.

I don't know if you have read anything about that dreadful accident at the other side of Rotterdam? A small village were holding a BBQ when a lorry left the road, went down the embankment and straight through a tent. 6 people were killed, 3 were from the same family and the lady was expecting a baby soon. The injured are still in the hospital, some seriously injured. It was a Spanish lorry, they said he hadn't been drinking so what caused it they will have to investigate, he wasn't injured at all.

Gem. you would all enjoy the sleepover.xx

                                Must get going again.
