    Good moaning each.
Oma and Daisy, the pastry experiment was a disaster! I’m so glad I tried it first. I have decided to make a gluten-free biscuit base.
No sign of a kitty rave thank goodness.
Lizzie, the meal looks delicious. Enjoy.
What busy people you all are! Enfys, I do the same as you, but I haven’t tried knitting a pattern yet. I’m such a coward. I was determined to learn how to knit a fairisle pattern whilst shielding but I didn’t knit a stitch.
Plant, how lovely to have little people around so much. We’ve run out of tinies here, our youngest is six but still scrumptious. 😁
Gem, do you ever stand still? Hopefully it’s not the last of afternoons and evenings in the garden weatherwise.
Nanto2, a busy time for you. I’m sure FiL is glad you are there. Your company must be comforting for him.
Glam, take care of your back! The baskets will wait.

The sun is out so we will be gardening today. I have already been out and pulled some beetroot which is now in the slow cooker. I love the smell!
OH wants to cut the lavender hedge at the front but I dare not leave him to it. He gets carried away.😬
    Have a good day ladies.

"Gem, do you ever stand still"

Grauntie I am quite inherently lazy! I definitely keep still a lot.
I do like to be busy though, and last week was an exception - the busiest I have had since pre lockdown. A friend wanted me to chat to her OH who is having a bit of a hard time, but I genuinely didn't have a 'slot' for her all week. We will meet this Tuesday.
I do spend for too much time on the reclining sofa however

Plant no I don't sleep well in Brum either that's why its best I don't share now , it means I can have the light on and read or browse the internet

I bet baby H is hard work keeping them still at that age is impossible isn't it, and they have the strength of a grown up when they want

Enfys you painted a good picture of you knitting reading then dropping off to sleep hahaha.

GM does OH cut the lavender back to far ? its easy to get carried away and give it a crew cut instead of just a trim

Glamm Oliver must be salivating at the smell of the chicken , I don't blame him I love the smell of Chicken roasting Is Jim home yet ?

Lizzie have you had your meal yet was it nice

Daisy you probably have to dry indoors for a week or so till the garden is finished, sods law when you could have dried it nicely outside

B doing Duck tonight so he has jointed it and the legs are in the freezer for storm,
He has rendered the rest down for the fat for storm too ,
If he was here he would be trying to get at the fat now

Im not fat just 6ft too small

Glamma, I remember that series The Loch, very good.
That does sound like satay Lizzie. I would like the peanut butter aspect but it has chili so it's off the list for me!
          I like duck too Oma!

We did all the shopping at Sainsburys, as Argos is within that store and I had new clock to pick up for my mum.
We are having a roast tonight so bought a pork joint.

Oma OH is lethal with his trimmer! It is done now, but I had to stop him and do it with the shears. I have explained many times why he mustn’t cut down to the old wood but it goes in one ear and out the other🙄.

By heck, its turned cold here. It was like summer yesterday.

Hubby and his brother had a good 2 hours with dad.
Brothers partner is working today,so we asked brother here for his dinner.
Hubby came home, got a plate of dinner and took it round for dad, so we know he has had something to eat.

Oma, we like duck as well.

I went for my food as he was running late, not far to go and it was delicious! I have enough for tomorrow as well.

Before I went I heard a bang, loud, as if something had fallen, I went out onto the balcony but couldn't see anything, whilst I was on the bike I heard an ambulance, the lady under me must have fallen and knocked something over, when I went I met her DS1 in the lift so he must have found her, I was wondering how she would cope on her own, I hope she is ok though.

The house I went to for the food is in the new area of the village, unknown to me! I had to search for the street.

Grauntie - what a good job you tried the GF pastry first. The biscuit base was a good idea - I'll remember that, thank you. I would have to identify the lavender for my OH, so he certainly wouldn't be trimming it back. I love the smell of beetroot cooking as well, even though I'm not a great lover of eating it.

Enfys - knitting sounds very relaxing if you can drop off to sleep mid-stitch so to speak.

Glamm - "waterless" spray for cleaning the car - whatever next! But it sounds brilliant, especially if you can't get a hose to the car. Your poor back - I do feel for you, and it's bad when it makes you miss nice occasions like that. It does make you wonder if you get written off by the doctors after a certain age. I get fed up of being told 'what can you expect at your age' type of comment. I tend to reply 'I expect the problem to be taken as seriously as it would be if I was 30 years younger.' I think Oliver is as spoilt as Storm and Eva!

Oma - did you enjoy the duck tonight? I bet Storm will be delighted with his share. Eva's funny about duck. Lots of the meals she has have duck neck for the bone content, and she loves a wing or neck to crunch up, as well as duck's feet and even the duck pate we sometimes have at lunch time, but she won't eat duck meat! I never buy it for us as OH doesn't like it.

Lizzie - it's never dull around your way. I do hope the neighbour is ok and hasn't broken any bones. How was the Indonesian meal?

Gem - how was your pork joint?

I needed to use up some trout fillets tonight so I did roasted vegetables with them - sweet potatoes, peppers, plum tomatoes, onion and garlic. It made a change.

Lizzi, I was jealous of your meal tonight! Used to love an Indonesian rijstafel when we lived in Holland. Still love a satay. Last time we went to Amsterdam, DD asked us to bring back some pinda saus for her...and paprika crisps! When we lived there OH used to go to Centraal Station in Den Haag to pick up a Sunday paper and the children used to go with him. Their treat was a bitterballen out of the machines!

Grey day here. Felt in mood for housework( strange feeling these days) so cleaned the shower room and dining room. Windows cleaned, furniture moved, cobwebs gone. Put up the curtains which I'd had cleaned in readiness for the move that never happened, so two rooms look spick and span for the moment. Ordered curtains from Dunelm for DS's room. They arrive next week, so shall get them up once I've cleaned windows.

Watched new series of Vera tonight. Only another one to go, but four more scheduled for 2022. DO enjoy that programme. Looks as if there might be some good programmes on TV over the coming months. I do hope so.

We had fish and chips courtesy of My Sainsbury tonight. OH isn't eating much at the moment, but he didn't leave much! At least he's had something and they were quite tasty!

                      Sleep tight everyone! xx

Good morning, WeeGranny, yes, I love a rijstafel, I often used to make them on a Sunday when the boys were home, a lot of work but we all enjoyed it. My DIL2 is Indonesian, she uses all the spices etc. Pindasaus won't be the same in the UK, can't you get paprika chips at all? Bitterballen out of a machine on the Central Station! It would be a Sunday treat for the children. I was reading the other day that a pizza machine was opened here the other day and it was so busy during the night they had to get the police to control the crowd.

I like to watch Vera. I will keep an eye open for the new series.

                          Morning.
Lizzie, glad you enjoyed the food. Hope your neighbour is ok.

WG, its good that your OH managed to eat something.

Glamma, i've never heard of a waterless spray.

Looking a bit dull this morning, and its chilly.

Grauntie, I love beetroot but I have never done it in the slow cooker, I will have to give it a try.

I have a man in the house doing a few jobs that needed doing.I have paid a few years for a service contract, I decided recently there isn't much they will do as I have my own kitchen, taps etc etc and they won't touch that, so, this nice man has done my toilet, fixed a light socket and he is now doing the hall door, then I can cancel my contract, plus, the bike was delivered at 8am, a very low instep ( for the elderly) but it will get me where I want to go until I get my new one.

Good Bank Holiday morning, everyone. It's dull but dry here. Could be a lot worse.

It doesn't feel like Bank Holiday here in Daisy land! The gardener's just arrived and OH has said he'll go to Wickes to get some stuff he needs so he can carry on with the work. I hope the traffic's not too bad as he has to go to Christchurch.

I shall be on tea-making duty but will try and get some more washing done!

Have a good day everyone. xx

EDIT - our posts crossed, Lizzie. It's nice to get those 'handyman' jobs done - although I think you are a very handylady yourself. Enjoy your dinner today - the food sounds delicious.

                                Good morning everyone.

A bit of a dull start here. In fact I don't think there is any sun forecast for a week!
WG I had forgotten a new series of Vera is (or maybe has) started. We will get it set on our planner.
I'm glad your food was good, Lizzie. I hope your neighbour is OK.

Daisy, the roast pork was very good, with apple sauce freshly made from our apples
We got a lot of garden tidying done at my mum's, took the meter readings and I emptied the final bookcase of books and CDs.
This afternoon we are taking my mum to some gardens for bit of fresh air and change of scene. There is a cafe there too. It so half the distance of the journey to the coast, which will be better for her. We didn't realize it was a bank holiday when we arranged this, it was just a day we were both free!
Quiz tonight, which I set over the weekend.

Have a good day, and a good week.
