    Morning ladies ,
We have sun and its warm so the washing that's in the washer now can go out today .

Nanto how are you all , how is your DH and FIL ?

Daisy maybe its coming from your back the foot pain ?
Trouble is when your busy you cant rest it can you , maybe later this evening you could elevate it and put ice on then xxx

Had a really bad night ended up watching rubbish shopping channels and a man getting over excited about food storage bags at ridiculous prices ,
how can you talk about food bags for 1 hour none stop ? there is only so much you can say about a plastic bag

Wasnt going to do a clean through this morning as I am really tired ,
One job led to another and I ended up cleaning everything bit the floors ,
I will wash them later .

B busy putting a new tap on the downstairs loo sink ,
Our old one was sticking and a few times we have gone in and the hot water has been running for ages without us realising .
We thought the tap was turned off but it wasn't fully .

Last night I went in and it must have been running a few hours as I opened the door it was like a Sauna ,
All the walls and the window was running with steam even the loo roll was wet .

The tap wouldn't turn off so B had to turn the isolator valve off to stop the water ,
The tap itself was too hot to touch without a towel .

He went to Screw fix for them opening and bought a old fashioned style of tap you know the type with the x type knobs you have to turn ,
Rather than the modern flip handle you never quite sure has turned off .

Im not fat just 6ft too small

Good morning, lovely and sunny here, windy though at the moment. I went to the next village on my (push) bike last night, it was blowing a gale but I got there, I went for a sealed Apple keyboard, I am pleased I saw it for sale when I did as they are very expensive new. Now I work with just the one in front of me. I have been out on it again this morning to see how the man is doing with my clock, first he was doing the garden and then the roof started leaking, it is a monument so everything has to be done according to the rules, he hopes to get it done next week, when I go again I will take a photo, it is a building I have always admired.

Oma, your water must be very hot to steam everything up like that. It will be better with the old fashioned tap. I never watch those stupid channels, I am awake far too early at the moment, I don't know why, maybe need to relax more.

Daisy, I hope your back and foot are soon improving, my foot is playing up again, I had injections for the arthritis but they didn't help for long, I will make an appointment with the podoloog man to get fitted for new soles.

Gem, you would enjoy the afternoon tea with your auntie, she would enjoy being out as well.

I will get my washing in and tidied away, it soon dries in the wind.

Good afternoon, the morning went so quickly I didn’t notice the time. Glad your back is better Daisy but shame about the foot. There’s always something isn’t there.

Another bad night, Oma, it horrible when you can’t sleep. I’ve recently invested in a weighted blanket and it does seem to make a difference but it is rather warm at the moment. Will be lovely and cosy in the winter though.

I enjoyed the new social group yesterday. Everyone was very friendly and chatty and I was made very welcome. The lady who runs does so much to ensure everyone enjoys themselves, we had unlimited cups of tea/coffee, biscuits and lovely cake...I went home absolutely stuffed! There was also a version of Antiques Roadshow.....lots of items that we had to judge the prices of. Good fun and we were way out, So our table won the booby prize......a toilet roll! I said this time last year that would have been a raffle prize 😀. I felt so much better when I came home so it really did me good to get out.

Had a good chat on FaceTime with DS this morning, then I was busy in the garden and doing some hand washing. I’m going to sit with my knitting and book this afternoon, I have a couple of special requests from DGD and DGS which I need to get on with.

Have a good afternoon everyone 🌞

          Good afternoon everyone.

Take care of your foot Daisy.
          Gosh a sauna Oma

          Sunny here at the moment.
Busy morning at the library, an event tied in with York Viking Centre. It was a drop in event and numbers could have been higher, but still worth doing.
A golf friend of OH is coming round later and staying for tea, and another couple of friends are dropping by for a cuppa in the garden.

I hope you all have a good Saturday.

            Warm and sunny here.
            Only done supermarket shopping today.
Came home to put shopping away.
Then went dad's with his shopping.
Hubby sat chatting for an hour with him, while i was upstairs getting rid of some creams and lotions that were mam's.
I'm going round in the morning while hubby is out with his brother.
Get one or two bits of housework done, for obvious reasons some jobs got left this week.

Everyone is doing ok, i think it will hit dad more when its the funeral.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Nanto - I think you're right about your dad. He's probably not had time yet to take everything on board. He's lucky you and OH are so close by.

Gem - you have had a busy day, but I'm sure you're enjoying the socialising after the last 18 months.

Enfys - I'm so pleased you enjoyed the social club. I bet everyone laughed about the toilet roll, but you're right - everyone would have wanted it last year! It sounds very friendly and welcoming and a great way to get to know some new people. How did you get on with the knitting this afternoon? Can you read and knit at the same time? Is your DS ok? What's the Covid situation there now?

Lizzie - it must have been a bit scary riding your push bike in that weather. Is the newApple keyboard nice to use, is it wireless? I like my mine, even though it's as old as the computer (8 years!), but for some obscure reason the letter 'N' is getting very worn. It's certainly not the most-used letter in the alphabet and if I rest my fingers on the keyboard I use the home keys. It's very odd.

Oma - was it the cloakroom tap you had trouble with recently, or was that the bathroom? It's a good job B is so handy (and I know you are, too!) or your heating and water bills could have been sky high. I wish someone could come up with something to help you sleep better. You must be exhausted after nights like that. Tonight WILL be better. xx

I hurt the foot a while a go, Oma, so I don't think it's related to the back problem. It's the top of the foot which is puffy and sore. I think I might have tied my walking boots up too tightly when we went on a walk about 3 weeks ago. That was when it started.

Most of our old patio has now disappeared and the new soakaway has been laid and partly backfilled with rubble, gravel etc. OH got his chainsaw out to chop up the dead tree trunk into logs and it wouldn't start. It's only just been serviced as well. He wasn't too happy, but he borrowed a neighbour's and got the job done. Then he realised that there some some lovely 'figuring' (patterns to me) but no good for ordinary turning. So he invited a friend round to see if he wanted it - he will take out the powdery bits and fill the gaps with resin to form a pattern. So he was happy, too, as it's hard to get wood for this. Eva is getting spoilt - every time she goes in the garden she goes round to everyone for a fuss - and she gets it, too. I made the lads some crunch flapjack this afternoon - they seemed to like it - it all went.

The washing is piling up I can't put the washing line up so I'll have to dry it all indoors. It seems such a shame with this good drying weather.

Good morning, yes Daisy it is wireless, mine was 8 years old as well, just the enter key wasn't working which isn't handy. DS2 said this one was a bargain! As DS2 said, "the keyboards are very touchy mother"! I haven't to press too hard now.

When DS2 moved to Rotterdam 23 years ago he shared a house with another young man, in the music world as well, the poor man had a heart attack the other day and died in the street, 56 years old, DS2 was going to the wake last night so all the music world, DJ's from those years would be there.

My BIL phoned last night and he actually sounded more himself, he had been to watch a cricket match, he coached for a while and they were playing and he actually enjoyed it. He didn't mention the wedding anniversary so I didn't either.

If all goes as planned I am having a meal delivered later today, have I mentioned this? We have a local site, a young man is married to an Indonesian girl and she loves to cook, every Sunday she does a menu and he delivers it, I have tried a few times but got a message this week that my message ended up in his spam box so this week it should be delivered.

Daisy, you will be so pleased with the patio when it is finished. Eva will be enjoying the attention from the workmen.

Nanto, yes it will hit your dad after the funeral, can he manage on his own?

Morning. Not a bad morning, its looking bright out there.

Enfys, well done to your table for winning the toilet roll.

Off to dads later while hubby is out with his brother.
They will pop in when they get back.

                    Good morning ladies.
Enfys I'm so glad you enjoyed the group! It sounds fun.
Things sound as though they are progressing well with the patio Daisy. I wonder if you have broken a tiny bone in your foot?
Let us know how the meal is Lizzie.
I hope your FIL is OK Nan2. I'm sure he is glad to see you.

Summer returned to this neck of the woods yesterday!
We spent the afternoon and early evening in the garden with friends. Such a nice socialising time!
We ate our meal inside as it was beginning to cool by then, and the friend who ate with us left just after 8.
Today we need to go to mum's house to check things, take a meter reading and cut the grass. We have some shopping to do as well.

                    Have a good Sunday everyone.

                      Good morning ladies ,
Its quite dull here at the moment .

Lizzie do you know what the meal will be ? sounds very exotic and looks amazing

Was the library day about the Jorvik Viking centre advertised ? Its such a good place to visit I am surprised not more people turned up at the Library xx

Daisy Eva is such a trollop flirting with all those men I bet she loved it she does like a cuddle

Yes we did have a problem with that tap in the cloakroom so when it finally stuck on we knew it was time to change it ,

Last week it was the bathroom radiator flooding the floor and the toilet flush sticking on the day before

We don't have much luck with the water in this house

Just off to phone my Niece its her birthday today , then pop to Lidl for fresh warm bread

Good morning everyone. The sun's shining here and thankfully, it should stay dry.

My mission today is to get washing done but I feel unreasonably cross that I'll have to dry it indoors. It's nothing in the greater scheme of things so I'll have to be a big girl and get over it!

Nanto - I'm sure your FIL is glad you're close by and it will be nice for him to spend some time with his two sons later.

Gem - what a lovely evening you had. I hope everything is ok at your mum's today.

Lizzie - your old keyboard did well. Mine isn't wireless, but my mouse is. I can see having a broken "enter" key would be a bit of a problem. How sad that your DS's friend passed away so suddenly and so young. I hope the wake will bring a lot of happy memories, and music is so evocative isn't it. Did he have a family? I'm so glad your BIL sounded a bit better. Hopefully he won't dwell too much on the anniversary. Those meals look scrumptious - what a wonderful service as well, and you know everything was home-cooked and authentic. Enjoy. x

Wishing everyone a peaceful, sunny, relaxing Bank Holiday Sunday. xx

EDIT Oma - our posts crossed again. You certainly do have water problems! But let's hope they're all sorted for now. Yes, Eva's a proper flirt sometimes. All the workmen have dogs of their own, so they were very happy to make a fuss of her. I hope your niece has a lovely birthday.

So many lovely posts to read, I was a bit busy yesterday so had no time on my IPad after the morning and you have been very busy.

Nanto, your Fil seems to be holding up well with family support.

Daisy, I hope your foot is feeling better today. Eva loves having company around to make a fuss of her. Well done for feeding the workers with flapjack.

Lizzie, not long before you get your new bike, I wonder why they are called a push bike? Good to her your Bil enjoyed his cricket match.

Enfys, that sounds like just the company you need, fun and chat.

Oma, I hope all your water problems have been sorted now. I wish I could wave a magic wand to give you a good night’s sleep. Did you sleep when we were in Birmingham in the hotel?

My upper back muscles are a bit painful today, we had all three GC here yesterday. DD and sil were childminding baby H (parents in London) and GS1 came round with his two children. We all went to our favourite pub for lunch, GS1’s treat. I helped out with baby H as GGD was a little jealous that her GM wasn’t holding her. When I took baby H GGD climbed onto my DD’s lap and kept kissing her. GGS organised a game in the garden and decided that his sister (who is nearly 2) and baby H were in my team! It was a bit of a feat lunching out with three children. Baby H is like holding a baby gorilla, she is so strong, will not be long before she is crawling. We had a quick tidy around and then sat down with glasses of bubbles.

It is dull here and cooler. Daisy, the friend of DS2 had a brother as far as I know, if his mother is still alive I don't know, I will hear more when I speak to DS2. I was using 2 keyboards at the same time Daisy, a bluetooth one I have for the iPad, I used that for the enter.

I am hoping the meal turns up, it is sate? meat on sticks with peanut butter sauce, bang goes the diet for today! Then side dishes of veg etc. It hasn't been on the local site this week so I guess they now have enough customers. I will know more later.

Oma, I hope your water problems are solved now.

Gem, I am pleased you had a good time entertaining, after so long!

Good morning. Lovely and sunny here. I’ve just watered my hanging baskets and dead headed them. They’re so lovely this year. Then I’m going to a car boot sale with DD after lunch and she has invited me there for tea, so a good day.

Such sad news about your DS’s friend Lizzie, so young.

Daisy, you asked if I could knit and read at the same time....no, I knit a bit, then read, knit a bit, read......especially when it’s a tricky pattern. Invariably I also nod off for a bit too!

Have a good day everyone 🌞

Good Morning lovely ladies, the sun is shining through today I have all the windows and doors open Oliver is in and out checking if he has any fresh chicken in his bowl yet but it is still roasting away in the oven so he will have to wait for an hour or so.

Oma just a quick note about cleaning my car I did not have to carry any water I used a "waterless" spray which I found in the shed it must have been one of my John's previous purchases he was one for anything that saved him time & effort, saying that my back has been a constant problem all week I am still using the heat pads and painkillers still no news about the MRI scan appointment sadly.I'm convinced that it is an age thing getting appointments & when they realise you are over a certain age they don't rush things .

Today I am going to sort out my hanging baskets they need thinning out for the last time before I plant out the winter pansies and winter trailers the surfina's this year have been amazing I am very pleased with them indeed I got them as mini plugs from the on line grower.

I never went to my friends barbecue yesterday I was in too much pain with my back so I spent the afternoon watching the full series of The Loch a series I have never watched before it kept you on the edge of your seat right to the end very enjoyable.

The white washing has now finished and I am off to hang out now so will catch up later, enjoy the day and all take care. x
